n“Not available? You must go to the charity dinner, OK? Don’t offend the Johnsons and cause trouble for us.” Ada directly stuffed the envelope into Claire’s arms.

nOn the second floor, Phoebe stopped to see the scene and smiled disdainfully.

n

n

nShe would definitely find the man who she met in the rain.

nThat noble, elegant, and perfect man was bound to belong to her.

nBut Claire could only marry a fool.

nThis was the gap between them.

n

n

nBack in the room, Claire threw the invitation letter to the corner.

nOn Tuesday night, she had made an appointment with Gallon to go farming in the countryside.

nAt night, Phoebe folded the handkerchief, gently placed it next to her pillow, and fell asleep with a rippling heart.

nWith clatters, it rained cats and dogs.

n

n

nPhoebe fell on the roadside, wet from the rain. She looked around in a daze, not knowing what was going on.

nAt this time, a black umbrella appeared above, blocking the raindrops for her.

nPhoebe looked up.

nThe black umbrella tilted, revealing the man’s cool and handsome face, and he was looking at her condescendingly with his deep dark eyes.

nIt was him!

nPhoebe was suddenly ecstatic, her cheeks flushed.

n

n

nThey finally met again!

nThe man gently bent over, stretched out his hand, and lifted her up.

nPhoebe stared straight at the man. Just when she was about to speak, the man pinched her chin and slowly brought his thin lips closer.

nShe was so frightened that she hurriedly closed her eyes, her heart beating fast.

nSuddenly, there was a knocking sound.

nPhoebe opened her eyes suddenly, only to see the white ceiling of her room.

nThe servant spoke from outside the door. “Miss, it’s time to get up.”

nShe was still lying on the bed. Outside the window, the sun was shining.

n

n

nIt turned out to be a dream…

nPhoebe’s heart seemed to fall into an ice cellar, and she felt an indescribable loss.

nWhen she reached school, her deskmate stared at her face. “What’s wrong with you? You have dark circles under her eyes. Didn’t you sleep well last night?”

nPhoebe put down her school bag, somewhat listless. “I was busy dreaming all night.”

n“What dream?” Her deskmate guessed. “Don’t tell me you have been dreaming of your secret crush.”

nPhoebe smiled shyly and nodded.

n“Wow… you like him so much?”

nPhoebe took out the handkerchief from her school bag and said blankly, “Before that day, I never believed that I would fall in love with anyone at first sight.”

nShe felt that no man was worthy of her.

nBut that person was different.

nMaybe this was fate. It was predestined…

nWhen school was over, Phoebe walked out of the school side by side with her deskmate.

n“Then how can you find him? Would you like me to recommend some private detectives to you?”

n

n

nHearing it, Phoebe asked her. “Are they reliable?”

nHer deskmate smiled and said, “Wives hire these detectives to catch their husbands’ adultery in the act and they’re never disappointed.”

nPhoebe was amused, but suddenly, her pace stopped and her laughter halted abruptly. She covered her mouth and exclaimed. “It’s… it’s him!”

n“Who?” Seeing Phoebe stare in the front with glowing eyes, her deskmate also looked up.

nAcross the road, there was a Maybach parked.

nA tall and slender man was leaning on the side of the car, wearing a black shirt, his tie pulled open. One of his hands was on the car and the other in his pocket. His long legs under his suit pants were slightly folded.

nHe tilted his head and his pitch-black hair was hanging down. His features were chiseled and seemed to be shrouded in a halo under the setting sun.

nHe looked cold and rebellious.

nThe pedestrians around were all looking at him.

n“Huh? Is he your secret crush?” Phoebe’s deskmate seemed to be surprised.

nSeeing her reaction, Phoebe asked. “What’s the matter? Do you know him?”

n
