Chapter 107 - Total Annihilation

nThe battlefield was a mess. It was as if there had been a terrorist attack moments ago.

nBlood was everywhere.

nLu Xuan stood among the bodies scattered all over the place, looking as if he was some god of war who just walked out of the battlefield.

nEven Shi Danze, who had long gotten used to killing back in Southeast Asia, was utterly terrified by what he just saw.

nIt was not like he had not seen someone being killed. In fact, he himself had killed many before.

nHowever, things before his eyes were totally different from before. The ones who died were not common folks, but formidable cultivators.

nThree National Guardians and several Martial Arts Legends, as well as a great number of HuaJin Masters and Baodan Grandmasters. It was a lineup that would have been able to topple any regime of a small nation effortlessly.

nSuch powers from such a lineup would have made it very difficult for even a National Guardian target to escape unscathed.

nHowever, the reality right there was that Lu Xuan had been the single person rounding them all up, and he had dealt with every single one of them.

nThat was how terrifying Lu Xuan was.

nBut then again, he realized, right after the shock, that his clan had truly become a member of something amazing.

n“No wonder the young master was so confident in himself. The enemy may be National Guardians, so what? They’re hardly any different from Martial Arts Legends to him, I guess,” Shi Danze muttered to himself.

nIn contrast to Shi Danze’s excitement, Ling Huang breathed a sigh of relief instead. All that happened since his daughter returned was like a rock sitting on his chest, making it very difficult for him to breathe.

nHe was finally able to rest easy by then. Everything happened just as Lu Xuan expected. Those people showed up at his door, and Lu Xuan dealt with every single one of them.

nIt was then that he truly realized that the world of cultivators was indeed one where the law of the jungle reigned supreme, and that world was a bloody one.

nWhile he always said that the world of commerce was just like a battlefield, the worst that could have happened to the losers was being reduced to a beggar on the streets. But being on the losing side in the world of cultivators meant only death and little else.

nThe competition between cultivators was 100 times, even 1,000 times, more brutal than that between businesspeople.

n“Call the Special Task Force. Tell them to come take care of this,” Lu Xuan said.

nThey had to notify the Special Task Force after causing such a huge commotion.

n“Shi Danze, stay behind and protect President Ling,” Lu Xuan added.

n“Yes, sir,” Shi Danze replied right away.

n“Where are you going, Mr. Lu?” Ling Huang asked.

nLu Xuan then replied casually, “I’m gonna clean up the house. Annihilate the entire sect.”

nLing Huang did not know what Lu Xuan truly meant by that, but he felt very grateful nonetheless.

nA large group of people from the Special Task Force arrived in about an hour after Lu Xuan left, going all over the Ling Clan’s estate.

nThe leading figures were none other than the Chief of Fu City Special Task Force, Yun Sheng, and his reliable assistant, the Square-faced Fatso.

nBoth of them saw the messy battlefield and frowned. It looked as if there had been a huge battle, and that battle had been a very brutal one, given how there were guns found and signs of explosions having taken place.

n“All of them were formidable fighters,” the fatso checked their bodies and said.

nYun Sheng nodded. He was able to tell even the fatso did not say anything about it.

nHe was even able to tell that there were several Martial Arts Legends among the dead. He was able to sense them, thanks to his sharp perception, although all of them had long been dead.

nHe had begun to stay in isolation more than a month ago, and he had only emerged out of it days ago. He was already a Level Six Martial Arts Legend now.

nAs such, he was able to discern a lot that he had not been able to see before.

nOther than those Martial Arts Legends, there were three that he was unable to identify. It was just like how it had been with those legendary National Guardians.

n“What the hell just happened here, Ling?” Yun Sheng founded Ling Huang and asked.

n“Well, this is what happened…” Ling Huang told everything to Yun Sheng.

nYun Sheng felt a chill run down his spine immediately. Things were not far from what he suspected to have been.

nThose three had indeed been National Guardians, and they brought several Martial Arts Legends with them, along with a great many HuaJin Masters and Baodan Grandmasters, as they stormed the Ling estate.

nIf such a lineup were known to the outside world, it would have probably shocked the entire world of cultivators in Southern Min.

nSuch a lineup would be able to throw the entire world of cultivators of the province into chaos.

nOne National Guardian would have sufficed, after all.

n“So it’s the Soul-snatcher Sect, then.” Yun Sheng knew who they were right away.

nThat sect was not all that influential in their province, with the strongest being the Southern Shaolin Temple, after all.

nThe monks of the temple usually stayed inside their temple to train and hardly ventured outside. They were the ones at the side of law and good, so the world of cultivators in their province was considered more or less an orderly one.

nIn their province, the lawful good and the neutral good ones were the ones with an absolute advantage over the others.

nIn contrast, in many of the western provinces, things were different. Taking Southern Yunnan as an example, the ones with absolute advantage was those of chaotic evil alignment.

nThe Soul-snatcher Sect was the top of those sects and clans. All three figures at the absolute top of the sect were criminals with bloody hands who were put on the Special Task Force’s watch list. One of them escaped out of the country while the other disappeared altogether.

nThe Special Task Force tried to apprehend the two of them for quite some time, yet all two of them were found dead in the estate instead.

nThose two had been top-notch figures who reigned supreme in the southwest.

nMost people would not have heard of them, but being at the middle level of the Special Task Force’s hierarchy meant that he had access to information regarding things from all regions.

n“Hell, all elites and higher-ups of the Soul-snatcher Sect are done for right now!” Yun Sheng looked at the bodies lying all over the ground and turned on his computer. He connected to the Special Task Force’s internal network and correlated the information found within.

nHe discovered that over 90 percent of the sect’s formidable members were lying dead all around him.

nWhile there were still a small number of formidable people back in the sect, they were no longer capable of posing any serious threat. The only one that was still seen as a threat, at the moment, was none other than the Sectmaster, Qiu Zhen.

nThe number one fighter in all of the sect.

n“The Soul-snatcher Sect is truly done for now. Even if Qiu Zhen is still around, the sect is beyond recovery,” Yun Sheng commented exasperatedly. He read a sarcastic comment from one of the Chiefs back in the Southern Yunnan province in the network.

nThings were hellish in that province compared to that of the Southern Min.

nThe Southern Yunnan’s Special Task Force was far from being able to overwhelm the Soul-snatcher Sect. If it had not been for the sect being wary of the headquarters’ power, the lawless and reckless fighters from that sect might have just simply wiped out all of the province’s Special Task Force.

n“Hmph, I guess these people were trying to corner Mr. Lu then, seeing how many people they brought. They were probably thinking of taking down the world of cultivators at Southern Yunnan as well.” Yun Sheng was perceptive enough to figure out the sect’s true motives.

nThere had probably only been one reason why the sect mobilized such a huge force. He broke out in cold sweat just thinking about that.

nIf the Soul-snatcher Sect were to succeed, the sect’s current powers would probably allow them to throw the entire world of cultivators of the province into chaos. Even if the provincial Chief were able to get to the National Guardian level, that would have only sufficed to survive the onslaught.

n
