n“Forgive me, my lord!”
nThat pale-faced man fell to his knees as he trembled.
n“Forgive me for the intrusion of waking you for your slumber, my lord. There is simply a matter that is beyond our capacity to deal with right now.”
n“What is it that is so severe that not even you people are able to handle it? Is the American government is plotting against the rule of the empire yet again, about to wage war against us?” Count Dracula asked with a cold, unfeeling tone.
nThe American government had clashed with the empire of vampires more than once in the over 200-year history of the United States.
nThat was the fact, even though many people in the American government were practically lapdogs of the vampires, and there were countless still who yearned for the vampires’ favor, hoping to join the ranks of the immortal vampires.
nHowever, there were plenty more who refused to reduce themselves by becoming slaves of the vampires. As such, many throughout history had resisted the rule of the empire of vampires.
nHalf of the world-renowned politicians and businesspeople of the United States might be vampires, or at least connected to the vampires one way or another.
nGetting rid of the vampires would mean making the entire nation collapse, and that was why the American government avoided going all out against the vampires.
nHowever, the conflict between humans and vampires never ceased throughout history. There were many who courted the favor of the vampires, and then there were also those who dared to stand up against those beings.
nFrom Dracula’s perspective, there was only one such reason why those two woke him up.
nThat pale-faced man and the middle-aged man were able to tell that Count Dracula was impatient. His still, unfazed expression belied his massive killing intent. If they were to be unable to give him a satisfying reason, he might kill them both on the spot.
n“My lord, Adam, the leader of the Association of Lore Seekers that you personally appointed, was killed a while ago. It was beyond us to avenge him. That was why we have decided to intrude upon your slumber, my lord.”
nThat middle-aged man replied right away. He was a renowned and mighty-looking Invincible Vajra.
nHowever, he did not even dare to breathe loudly before Count Dracula.
n“Who is it? Some old fart from the church?” Count Dracula asked as he frowned.
n“No, my lord. It was a Huaxian,” the middle-aged man replied right away.
n“The Huaxian? Didn’t their lineages break several hundred years ago? How did they manage to get someone powerful enough to kill Adam?” A tinge of shock was seen in his eyes when he asked about Huaxia.
nHe still vaguely remembered the great battle that shook the heavens and the earth several hundred years ago.
nThat man who severed as the cultivation lineage of the entire planet with his own might, sealing the dragon’s vein and plunging the planet into the end of days.
nThat battle did not only plunge Huaxia into the days devoid of cultivation, as a number of other places were affected as well.
nThe vampires derived sustenance from blood and relied little on the spirit qi of the earth, which was why they were able to barely survive. Despite that, they still needed to enter deep sleep time and time again to conserve their powers.
nHe had seen one too many frightening lineages that went into complete decline since that one battle, and they had been unable to rise ever since.
nThat had been something that happened a very, very long time ago. There were hardly any figures worth mentioning from Huaxia since then.
n“That man was someone who emerged in Huaxia recently. We’ve looked into his background. His name is Lu Xuan, and he is simply far too powerful. He was capable of wrecking the American Seventh Fleet all on his own. Taking him on is utterly beyond us, and we had no choice but to wake you, my lord,” the middle-aged man explained.
n“A man capable of wrecking the Seventh Fleet alone?” Dracula’s expression finally shifted.
nDespite being in a deep sleep, he was not actually oblivious to all that was going on around him. He knew how developed human technology had become recently, so much so that even he had to have his guard up.
n“It looks like that Huaxian is already in the Celestial Realm, then.” Count Dracula seemed to have recalled something. However, he looked rather excited instead of shaken. “With the planet being restored and my pending breakthrough, I will probably move to the next stage if I drain the blood out of someone at Celestial Realm.”
nCount Dracula was actually unfazed when he talked about Lu Xuan, who was in the Celestial Realm. He killed beings of such a realm in ancient times, after all.
nIf it had not been for the lack of spirit qi nourishing his powers for the past several hundred years, resulting in his drastic loss of powers, he would have been able to kill a Celestial Realm being with his fingers alone.
n“All glory belongs to you, my lord!” the middle-aged man knelt and said solemnly.
n“Get me 500 living humans. I’ll need to feed on all of them to recover some of my powers, and then I’ll kill that Huaxian,” Count Dracula said.
n“Your wish is my command!”
nAt that moment, Lu Xuan had just sent Lin Miaoyi off from Yunxuan Villa after staying there for three days.
nLu Xuan was finally aware of how eager his mother, Liu Wanrong, was at the moment. She had been busy knocking Lu Xuan left, right, and center, reminding him again and again that he was of the age to marry.
nIt was time for him to get a wife.
nLu Xuan was feeling really exasperated by his mother’s antics. It was lucky that his mother was simply reminding and persuading him to consider the matter instead of forcing him to marry someone.
nBut then again, Lu Xuan was still able to easily tell that his mother liked Lin Miaoyi a lot.
nObjectively put, Lin Miaoyi was considered high-spec in just about all manner, and it was hard for his mother not to like her.
nLu Xuan did not stay at Yunxuan Villa for long after sending Lin Miaoyi off. He headed out right away, buying himself a plane ticket and arriving at Luo City, which was situated at the center of Huaxia.
nThe reason for doing so was simple—there was a huge black market on the outskirts of Luo City, which was the largest in all of Huaxia.
nMany cultivators set up shop over there, exchanging for the cultivation resources each needed.
nRare, precious artifacts of one kind or another were auctioned off there frequently.
nLu Xuan was going to the black market in Luo City for one specific artifact—a piece of Taiyi Metal.
nHis powers had reached that of the Celestial Realm, and that meant that his powers were far above what they had been previously.
nThe Bloodthirst, which served him well, was no longer enough at such a level. As such, he needed to forge a new sword for himself.
nWhile the Bloodthirst was indeed a good blade, it was still just some very powerful weapon with a certain capacity of sapience instead of a true power item.
nIt still fell short in more ways than one.
nThat blade no longer fit Lu Xuan’s level of powers at the moment well.
nHe needed just a single piece of Taiyi Metal to complete that power item he planned on forging.
nYang Chengsi had been waiting at the market for quite some time when Lu Xuan got there.
n“So that fellow still refuses to sell that piece of Taiyi Metal then?” Lu Xuan asked.
n“Indeed. I’ve raised the offer to one billion, and that guy still refuses to part with it!” Yang Chengsi replied respectfully.
