Chapter 363 - Special Task Force, No Big Deal
Lu Xuan hardly needed anything from the two-winged angel’s corpse.
However, the same could not be said for the other nations.
The angel’s tremendous power serves as a key to the research of paranormal beings by the representatives of the nations. None of the nations had given up the effort to look into cultivation scientifically after all.
Scientifically deciphering the secrets to cultivation would allow them to produce formidable cultivators en masse.
That was the greatest rift between those holding a mystical view on cultivation and those holding a scientific view on it.
Cultivators taking the mystical path were something that could never be produced en masse; results from this kind of cultivation would differ based on how much the individual in question understood cultivation.
However, things were different for those who held a scientific view of cultivation. Unlocking the secrets to the realms of cultivation would allow them to produce formidable cultivators of such levels in large numbers.
More importantly, the angel descended from heaven. It seemed that there was definitely more than just one angel in heaven.
According to Biblical myths and legends, there were possibly millions of angels up there.
If even just a single angel could wreak so much havoc, one could imagine just how damage millions could do. What’s worse, there were also four-winged and six-winged angels alongside the two-winged ones.
It could even be said that members of governments from all over the world couldn’t sleep ever since they found out that the angels weren’t the only ones that were real. The possibility of them coming to Earth was very real, as well.
The angels were just too powerful.
If the so-called heaven could simply have angels descend onto Earth without restraint, the governments of the nations, or even the entire human race, would be forced to submit to the forces of heaven.
The foolish and ignorant people back in the middle ages might be fine with such a concept, but nobody in modern society would be willing to accept such a fate.
As such, many were compelled to study the various secrets regarding the angel just to prepare themselves for a war that might come in the future.
Even the most religious of nations sent their representatives to participate in the research of the two-winged angel’s dead body.
The cost incurred in the research was a million spirit stones and large quantities of mystical treasures.
There was no way that the Special Task Force would be the only agency footing the bill. In reality, many nations contributed to such a study in secret that the Special Task Force gained a lot from those contributions.
The thing that representatives from all those nations were most concerned with was to get firsthand data of the study. As such, none of them saw a problem with paying a little more to do so. Nations all over the world had even reached a consensus that, regardless of all that bickering that happened between them, the fact that they were all humans remained unchanged.
Many devotees from nations all over the world went on protests even at such a moment, calling for nations to ban all research on the angel’s dead body and avoid committing sacrilege against the divine.
Even those who were only paying lip service when it came to faithfulness to their religion did not budge on such an issue.
Top-notch scientists from various fields across the world were studying the dead body using all kinds of technology located inside the Special Task Force’s base.
The study churned several reports which were then handed to their respective persons-in-charge.
As the host and person-in-charge of the base, the Dragon acquired even more data.
Representatives from various nations gathered to analyze their findings and draw conclusions.
“Judging from its appearance, we could say that the angels are close to humans. Once we dissected its body, however, we were surprised to find that the internal structures were almost identical to that of humans. With that, we begin to wonder if tales about God creating humans told in myths and legends were actually more than just stories,” A French scientist elaborated in astonishment.
“If that’s truly the case, why were humans created in the image of you white people? We don’t look like the angels at all!” A Huaxian scientist retorted at that moment.
“You might come to such a conclusion if you were to base your outlook on Genesis. Us materialists, however, would wonder if the angels had actually been humans instead. Perhaps they had undergone some kind of biological modification that eventually turned them into angels.”
“That is highly plausible. Could it just be some sort of very advanced technology of modifying biological entities? Could it be that they were humans who practiced some sort of methods from the heavens that turned them into angels?” The Huaxian scientist then continued, “According to our current findings, there are actually some cultivation methods that could truly change the human form somehow. Some of them even allow humans to grow bat wings.”
It was obvious that the ones who based their outlook on Genesis looked at the situation differently from those who held onto materialist beliefs.
Despite all of them being scientists, they all had their own view about it; there was no unanimous conclusion drawn.
Many theologists were joining the discussion.
The fact that the internal structures of angels were almost identical to those of humans remained something that shocked many. After all, even people were speculating that angels were beings of energy before the study began.
Alarms suddenly blared outside as a loud rumble was heard. The building that they were all in was blasted open so easily that it felt like an earthquake just occurred.
The cultivators present began to busy themselves with rescuing people. It was worth noting that the scientists present were of the most brilliant minds on the planet, while the government representatives were key personnel from their respective nations. Any casualty would have been a huge deal.
As the building collapsed, many people were buried under the rubble. Since many in the Special Task Force were cultivators in the first place, however, the number of people trapped remained low.
A young man dressed in a black robe was seen by those present to be carrying a dead body in his arms, and that dead body was none other than that angel.
He shot to the air with one arm cradling the angel while the other stuck in his pocket, making the whole process look very easy.
A heavy sword circled him in a swift and smooth motion.
The Dragon who was dressed in military attire coldly asked the young man in the black robe, “Who are you? You truly must have a death wish for trespassing into a restricted military base.”
“Man, you people are so damn weak. Looks like the Special Task Force isn’t that much of a big deal after all,” That young man commented casually.
The young man’s words angered several fighters from the Special Task Force.
It was worth noting that there were so many formidable fighters in the Special Task Force that, when it came to such numbers, they were second only to the Heavenly Palace. Furthermore, there were quite a number of them who came from the Heavenly Palace in the first place.
Those people were trained in the Heavenly Palace at the behest of the Special Task Force, and all of them were no doubt very prideful people.
Over a dozen Celestial Realm fighters shot to the air right away, heading straight for that young man dressed in a black robe.
Boom!
A shocking rumble was then heard. Everyone saw how all those fighters, who were all as nimble as apes, were sent flying after charging towards the young man. With not a single one spared, they all died on the spot.
Those people were all Celestial Realm cultivators, but they were all still shocked to death.
They had all been top-notch fighters tasked who were protected by the headquarters, but they all dropped like flies. That fact alone shocked many of the fighters who were still present.
What puzzled and shocked everyone the most, however, was the identity of that black-robed young man.
