Chapter 322

nHo Sung Lee passed him. He left the meeting room and pressed the elevator button.

nBeside Ho Sung Lee was Ji Yoo Kim.

nThey waited for the elevator without a word, and once the doors opened, they got on.

nThe door closed.

nThat was when Ho Sung Lee let out a sigh.

n“Ah… I feel like I made a mistake.”

nHo Sung Lee grabbed onto the wall. He dropped his head and let out his sadness.

nJi Yoo Kim smiled bitterly at Ho Sung Lee.

n“I feel like you were a little excessive, but you did a good job. They wouldn’t have listened to you if you used an average method.”

n“Do you really think so?”

nHo Sung Lee looked at Ji Yoo Kim with anticipating eyes and asked to confirm.

nJi Yoo Kim smiled brightly and nodded.

nMeanwhile, the elevator arrived on the first floor.

nHo Sung Lee walked through the lobby and entered the parking lot, and Ji Yoo Kim followed beside him.

n“I really don’t know if I did a good job.”

nHo Sung Lee put his hands on his waist and grimaced.

n“I feel like there might be a better way, but it’s beyond my means. This is the best I can do, haha.”

nHo Sung Lee smiled as if he was still worried.

n“You did a good job. The hunter leaders don’t know how to carry on a normal conversation. After all, they had been at the top until now.”

nHo Sung Lee sighed and nodded.

n“I guess we’ll just have to see how they come off. But if they still don’t listen and come off strongly…”

nJi Yoo Kim trailed off.

nHo Sung Lee’s eyes lowered.

n“If Min Sung doesn’t come back by then…”

nJi Yoo Kim flashed a smile.

n“Shall we go out to eat?”

nHo Sung Lee stared at Ji Yoo Kim before showing her a nod.

nShe was talking as if she wanted to tell him not to feel pressured, and her words were quite comforting.

n“Let’s go and eat. I’ll take you,” said Ho Sung Lee as he headed to the car.

nJi Yoo Kim looked up at the building where the hunter leaders were with a heavy face.

nShe thought for a while before quietly getting into Ho Sung Lee’s car.

n“How does Chinese sound?”

n“Sounds good.”

nJi Yoo Kim easily agreed to Ho Sung Lee’s menu proposal.

nHo Sung Lee headed toward the restaurant that he knew of without even using the navigator.

n***

nAs soon as Ho Sung Lee left, the hunter leaders remained seated in the meeting room with dejected faces.

nNo one said a word in the midst of the silence, and then the hunter leaders began to look at Ethan with resentment.

nIt was the American hunter leader, Ethan, who pressured them to do what they couldn’t be responsible for.

nOf course, they were pathetic for playing along, but they couldn’t help but have negative feelings toward Ethan anyway.

nIn such a state of despair, they needed something to blame.

nEthan accepted the looks with a flushed face before opening his mouth.

n“First, let’s go back and figure out a way…”

nEthan words became a trigger.

n“What are you talking about? If we drag this on any further, we’ll all be dead!”

nIn response to the Russian hunter leader’s scolding, the American hunter leader, Ethan, felt like crying, but he held it in and shut his mouth.

n“I don’t think this should be about pride anymore, and there’s no good in fighting amongst ourselves.”

n“It’s true. The situation isn’t good, but if we keep going at this rate, the hunter organizations will become nothing but tigers without teeth.”

n“We’ll have to find a way.”

nThe Russian hunter leader felt angry at the fact that the other hunter leaders were staying quiet despite sharing the same feelings. Since they weren’t wrong either, he had no choice but to leave them alone.

nThe Russian hunter leader left the meeting first followed by the others.

nAnd Ethan who remained in the meeting room alone, stared into space with a distrait face.

n***

nThe food they ordered arrived on the table.

nFried rice, chili shrimp, and assorted seafood and vegetables with mustard sauce.

nJust by looking at what they ordered, it looked like too much food for the two of them, but since the quality was high while the quantity was low, the portion was just right.

n“Eat lots.”

n“You too.”

nThe meal began.

nThe fried rice was shiny and the same went for the fried chili shrimp.

nAlso, the assorted seafood and vegetables looked so beautiful that they stared at it blankly.

nThe assorted seafood and vegetables looked like a work of art.

nThe fried rice tasted like oil but wasn’t oily whatsoever, and the chili shrimp were crispy while the juicy inside went perfectly with the chili sauce.

nIn particular, the assorted seafood and vegetables looked so vibrant that they had to eat it with their eyes before eating it with their mouth.

nThe assorted seafood and vegetables contained shrimp, pork, various vegetables, as well as sauce.

nEating all of those things at once caused a party to take place in their mouths.

nJi Yoo Kim was intoxicated by the sensational chili shrimp and the scent of the fried rice.

nThe two of them didn’t even talk and enjoyed their Chinese food.

nAnd as soon as they had tea afterward, they felt like they came back to reality from a dream.

n“That was delicious, and the visuals were fantastic,” said Ji Yoo Kim with a flushed face.

nShe looked as though she was satisfied.

n“I can see why Min Sung trusts all of your restaurant recommendations.”

n“I’m glad you enjoyed it.”

nWhile Ji Yoo Kim shrugged her shoulders with happiness, her phone rang.

nJi Yoo Kim put down her teacup and checked her phone.

nIt was the Central Institute.

n“It’s the headquarters. I’d better answer it.”

nJi Yoo Kim excused herself and walked away from her seat.

nMeanwhile, Ho Sung Lee went outside and put a cigarette in his mouth.

nHe felt the cold air brushing against his cheeks.

nIt was no longer the beginning of winter, but right in the middle of it.

nHo Sung Lee was curious about what kind of fight Min Sung Kang was fighting.

nIt felt like it was taking a while, but the passage of time in the Demonic Realm was different from the human world.

nHo Sung Lee looked up at the sky.

nHe couldn’t even imagine it.

nHe was a person who always lived a life that was beyond anyone’s imagination.

nHo Sung Lee stared into the sky.

n***

n“This is less than what I expected,” said Min Sung toward Hellcard, and Hellcard put on an offense in response.

nDespite the unbelievable amount of attack power that came his way, Min Sung dodged the attack with a straight face.

nPhysical attacks that couldn’t be followed, and magical attacks that were impossible to predict.

nAnd despite there being a great amount of magic energy in the magic attacks, Hellcard’s attacks didn’t work on Min Sung.

nMin Sung smirked at Hellcard, who was huffing and puffing.

nHe couldn’t help but laugh.

nThe man who was called the former devil king of the Demonic Realm didn’t look so strong to him.

n“I’m not even nervous here. I came to see the end of the Demonic Realm, but you’re so weak. I can’t believe it.”

nMin Sung meant what he said.

nHe hated the Demonic Realm more than anybody, but when it came to human instinct, once things were close to ending, they felt sad that it would end.

nIt was possible that he couldn’t believe such a world could end.

nIt was a very large and powerful wall, and despite once thinking it would be impossible, the end of the Demonic Realm was right in front of his face.

nHe also felt anxious that if he just ended it here, he would feel empty inside.

nFor that reason, the Min Sung Hellcard saw was quite complicated, but it wasn’t so complicated that it couldn’t be solved.

nHe played with him until he got tired, and once he accepted reality, he would feel at ease.

nThat was why he continued to watch Hellcard without killing him.

nHellcard was the end of the Demonic Realm.

nHe wasn’t expecting some kind of epic climax, but the fact that it wasn’t realistic made him sad.

nIf one asked him why he was sad, it might have been because he felt as though all of the time he spent in suffering was in vain.

n“You good-for-nothing human. How dare you insult me? I’m Hellcard!”

nMin Sung watched Hellcard’s blazing gaze, and that was when Min Sung realized that the sparks were giving off smoke and nothing else due to his emotions.

nHe was starting to get tired of this end.

nHumans naturally lacked patience.

nFor that reason, the end of the Demonic Realm that was Hellcard was not much fun anymore.

nMin Sung sensed that it was time for everything to end.

nNot only did Min Sung sense it, but so did Hellcard.

nHe saw nervousness and tension in Hellcard’s eyes that he hadn’t seen yet, and that version of Hellcard was weaker than ever.

nAlthough he was powerful, in front of Min Sung, who had taken the power from the great god, he was nothing but a sinful criminal.

n“It’s time for you to go.”

nMin Sung’s eyes spoke in a cold manner.

nHellcard looked so blank for a moment that it covered his rage, and then he gathered all of his energy, but that was nothing but a pathetic struggle before dying in the hands of Min Sung.

n“Aaaaaaagh!”

nHellcard screamed as loud as he could as he unleashed his magic energy.

nHis magic energy flew in from both the sky and ground, but Min Sung raised his hand and spread out his fingers.

nThe white light that came from it gave off a dark magic energy, and that white light not only swallowed up Hellcard’s magic energy, but it swallowed him up as well.

nFlash!

nAs a result of the white light, Hellcard’s body flashed.

n“How dare a mere human…!”

nHellcard was unable to say his last words.

nIt was the common end that came for most villains.

n
