Chapter 150 - Not Happy To See Me
'One glance and I can tell that this is some kind of a study or an office that he uses to work in.' She deduced with a few simple clues that she had picked up from when she had entered the room.
"That is correct.
" He acknowledged her answer with a nod and then walked towards the couch which was near the tapestry.
Once Yvonne was placed on the couch, she did not sit down like she should have done.
Instead, she climbed onto the cushion and stared at the beautiful artwork which had been embroidered onto the cloth which was hung on the wall.
"Such delicate thread work… The accuracy is undeniable and the minute details given to the work makes this a great find!
" She appraised the tapestry after analyzing it for a few moments.
Rutherford was about to reprimand her for standing on the couch but when he heard her words, he stopped glaring at her feet on the couch and looked up at her face.
The little chubby face was almost stuck to the tapestry as she tried to take a closer look at the artwork.
'This is a much bigger and more accurate version of the map that Marquess Samed had brought along with him the last time.' She recalled and then nodded to herself.
She had just called the tapestry better than the map present in the Royal Library that was used by the Rosenhyde Royal family and she had no idea about it.
"Do you like it?
" The father who was eager to win back his daughter's favor inquired with a nervous voice.
The immediate nod he received from her revived his drooping spirit and he smiled at the back that was turned towards him.
Taking a couple of steps, he reached his desk and after he went to the other side of the table, he pulled the cabinet open and picked up a few items which were placed inside it.
He soon returned to his daughter's position and found that she was still gazing, analyzing the map with great concentration.
He placed the things that he had fetched onto the table before the couch and sat on the other side in silence.
It was not until Yvonne had taken in the entire view of the map and all of the fiefs inside the Kingdom that she had turned around to take her seat on the couch.
'Did he bring this for me?' She glanced at the supplies on the table and then at her father who smiled at her.
The pencils, a bunch of papers, and the paperweight before her made her smile as well since this showed that he was observant enough to know what she would need next.
Without being ungrateful, Yvonne smiled and then went ahead and used the supplies that she had been offered without any restraint.
The father brought out his work and began perusing through some files as his child sat on the other side and completed her report.
While Yvonne took occasional glances at the map behind her, Rutherford took peeks at the child who was working hard right before his eyes.
___
Many miles away from the St. Claire estate was the Rosenhyde Royal Palace which was the residence of the Royal family.
At this moment, that same Palace was in a state of chaos as someone had arrived ahead of schedule.
"What do you mean by saying that the Prince has arrived!?
" King Ophire roared at the steward who had come to inform him about the news he received from the guards.
The steward trembled under the fierce glare that he was granted after giving the King this news which he had not expected in the least bit.
'Draco said that he would arrive in the evening! We still have a few hours before that!' He cried out in his heart at this injustice.
Everything that he had prepared for this beloved brother of his would be ready in a few hours but what could he do now that the person had arrived earlier than expected?
"Does Big Brother not like that I have arrived earlier to spend more time with you?
" A melodious voice was heard in the Throne room where King Ophire and the steward had been conversing until now.
The voice dragged their attention away from their worries towards the person who had entered the throne room without permission.
If this was anyone else then the King would have thrown them into prison for entering the Throne room without making his presence known beforehand.
However, how could anyone dare to punish the Prince who was the apple of the King's eyes?
Prince Draco Roschester smiled at the man who sat upon the throne while stepping in his direction.
Before Draco could reach his brother, the ruler of the land had gotten off his throne and moved towards his baby brother.
"Draco!
" He called out with his arms wide open.
The young man who had just entered the room ran into the arms which were held open for him.
If someone were to see the pair of brothers in each other's embrace then they would have assumed that they had met after years of separation.
"A week is too long a separation from you, Draco.
" King Ophire muttered as he let go of the warm hug.
Draco chuckled and shook his head at the man who was pouting like a child whose candy was snatched away from him.
"But I think that big brother is not happy to see me at this time.
" He replied while teasing the King without bothering about upsetting him.
This was because Draco was aware of how much he was loved and how much he loved the man in return.
This man had been his mother since he was born and soon even took up the responsibilities of a father as well.
How could he not love the man who thought about him and his happiness at every turn?
King Ophire was sent into a spiral of panic when he heard the words from his brother.
"That is nonsense! How can big brother not be happy to see Draco? I am only worried that everything that I have planned for you will not be ready since you were ahead of your schedule.
" He explained in hopes of not letting Draco misunderstand his words.
The young prince was an intelligent one and he knew why his brother had said so.
"Brother! I was just teasing you.
" He shook his head at the man who took every word of his seriously.
Once he was sure that he had not upset Draco, King Ophire let out a sigh with a weak chuckle at this teasing that had caused him to panic.
"Come along! You must be hungry!
" He held Draco's shoulders and dragged him along as they soon left the Throne room.
The steward who was following the pair of brothers at a distance could not help but smile at the close relationship that they shared.
Passing through the corridors, two men, one young and one old, with the same blonde hair walked along next to each other.
King Ophire Rosenhyde glimpsed at the young boy beside him who was growing taller and stronger each day which made him feel both proud yet reluctant at the same time.
'They grow up so quickly!' He exclaimed while trying his best not to sniffle his nose.
