Chapter 346 - She Vanished

n

n

nThe lunch ended with the little girl being hugged by her parents which she could not decline.

n'Since you gave me a present I like, I shall allow this.' She stated while being squished in their embrace.

nAfter lunch, Roselie carried the two boxes as they returned to her room for the afternoon nap.

nSitting in her room now, she recalled what her itinerary for the rest of the day would be.

n

"First, nap then piano practice, and then meet Demon.

" She muttered to herself as she was now alone in her room.

nThe two boxes were placed on the table before her and she could not conceal the excitement in her heart when she thought of the fact that she would be practicing swordsmanship with this sword tomorrow.

n

"I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive!

" She squealed and cupped her cheeks.

nThough her enthusiasm was great, she had to force herself to get some rest before she could return to the piano room to complete her daily routine.

nDemon stood in the greenery below her window as he gazed up, keeping a watch over her as he had been instructed to.

nThe etcher was paying close attention to her each day and was proud that nothing had taken place that could harm her in his presence.

nWaiting for a few more minutes, he nodded and then returned to his stable as his Master had promised to meet him there.

nYvonne rose from her siesta a few hours after and with Roselie's help, got dressed and rushed to the Piano Room.

nOnce inside, she smiled at the grand piano which over the past few days she had missed.

nAs she was grounded, her afternoon piano practice had also been canceled but thankfully this did not affect her classes with Governess Lester.

n'I could not complete as much as I had thought but at least I did not get hit for making a mistake while playing.' She surmised as she walked to the table that held the folder full of musical scores.

nHowever, instead of picking the new ones, she held up the sheet that she was already familiar with.

n*Tears Of Our Love*

nThe name was one she knew all too well but she still chose the same.

nTaking her seat, she placed the sheet before her and cracked her knuckles to prepare herself for the long practice session.

nHer eyes were fixed on the sheet yet her fingers pressed down on the right keys each time.

nThe soft music which was jovial at first turned melancholic as the song progressed.

nFamiliar feelings of sadness, hurt and heartache overwhelmed her, resonating with the music she was playing.

nHer body swayed as she immersed herself in the song and felt her mind turn numb with time.

nPressing the final key, the little girl opened her eyes and the red rims indicated that she had felt each emotion conveyed by the touching music.

n'Why?' She thought to herself as she lifted her fingers off the ebony and ivory keys.

nShe could still not decipher why this song spoke to her, so much so that she could feel an ache in her chest each time she played it.

nThis mystery was one she wished to solve desperately.

nThis desperation had made her do something sly but she had no regrets about it.

nThe plan that she had given Marquess Samed to propose to the King had some hidden motive related to this very musical piece.

n'I hope I get the answers I am looking for.' She sighed and decided that patiently waiting for the results was all she could do right now.

nShe then decided to utilize her time well and began practicing the other pieces diligently.

nRoselie returned to the Piano room after an hour to pick the Miss up and the two walked until the main entrance of the Mansion.

n

"I shall go alone from here.

" Yvonne announced and received a bow from her new maid.

nRoselie watched as her hardworking Miss walked in the direction of the stables and soon disappeared.

nYvonne could feel the gaze on her back but did not turn around as she continued to walk towards her destination.

nShe had promised to meet her etcher this morning and she was now here to fulfill that promise.

nAs she neared the stable, she was sure that she would not be the only one present there.

n'Just as I had thought.' She shook her head when she reached the door and found someone else inside.

n

"Hello, Miss.

" Butler Limo greeted her with a bow.

nDemon was eating his meal when he sniffed the scent of his Master in the air but he knew that he would be reprimanded if he did not finish his food, so he did not lift his head but hurried to eat it all up.

nYvonne chuckled at his hasty behavior and took her seat on the chair present here.

n

"Any reports?

" She questioned out of habit and chuckled when she realized what she had done.

n'The maid is no longer here so there is no need to ask for reports from him.' She shook her head at her absent-minded behavior.

nButler Limo smiled at first but his expressions turned grave after a few seconds.

nThe little girl who had noticed this was curious to know what had caused this change and was sure that he would not leave her hanging.

n

"She has not returned there, Miss.

" He reported on the whereabouts of the maid who had been dismissed from this Estate.

nHe did not have to expand on this statement as she had caught the meaning in the first go.

nWhen Raylene had instructed the maid to be expelled from their Estate, she had not left her completely stranded.

n'As always, my mother is too soft on people who don't deserve her kindness.' Yvonne scoffed when she recalled what had taken place last week.

nAfter Paula was taken away by the two maids, Raylene had ordered Butler Limo on what to do next.

nThese orders of hers were what he had done though he did it begrudgingly.

nThe Countess had instructed him to make sure that Paula was given a small sum of money for the years she had served in this Mansion and to arrange a carriage for her to travel back to her fief.

nThe Viscount's fief, where Raylene and her maid used to stay, was the destination that the Countess had ordered him to send the maid.

nFollowing her instructions, he had booked for a commoner carriage and instructed the driver to stop only when they reached the Viscount's fief.

n

"But Miss, the maid pretended to be sick midway and asked for the carriage to be stopped.

" He explained what he had heard from the driver.

nThe driver had no clue about her misdeeds at the Earl's household and had stopped after hearing her pitiful pleas.

nHis inner conscience forbade him from forcing a sick woman to travel and had halted at an inn a few fiefs away from the Viscount's.

nHowever, after booking a room in the lodging to rest for a few hours, he waited for her to return but she never did.

n

"So she vanished from that inn along with her luggage?

" The little girl was stunned by what she heard.

nThe courage of the maid who had betrayed her Mistress's trust and even deceived the driver who had stopped his journey on account of her health was making her glower at the maid.

n

"It is a good thing Mama sent her away when she had the chance.

" She scoffed at the audacity of that woman.

nThe Countess did not want her to struggle in the Capital where she knew no one and had wished to send her back to the place where she had connections but this was not appreciated by the maid.

nButler Limo had a similar expression of irritation on his face but he tried to curb his indignation in her presence.

n

"Miss, maybe she is ashamed to return to her hometown after what she did to Master and Mistress.

" He muttered what might be the reason behind her actions.

nThe little girl pondered about this and felt that he might be right.

n'But now we won't know what happens to her!' She grimaced as she was now curious to know more about this but there was no way that she could.

n
