Chapter 423 - When Can We Meet?

When Yvonne and her brother left the Office, their father was still thinking of a way to contact his brother-in-law, Viscount Valente.

After mulling over his child's decision of using this incident as a chance to execute her plan of establishing her business and to teach Earl Blaise a lesson for everything their family had done against the St. Claires, Rutherford agreed with her.

Therefore, the responsibility of contacting Viscount Valente had fallen on the shoulders of the Earl.

'I should talk to Ray about this first.' He decided as this matter was something that she should know about.

The Earl then hurried to his room where he might find his beloved wife to discuss what they could do to help their daughter out.

On the other side of the Mansion, Howard walked beside his sister as they headed to their bedrooms.

"An uncle…

" He muttered which fell on this sister's ears as well.

'He must have been shocked by that revelation.' The little girl glanced at him as she too was surprised to hear about the secret that their parents had been keeping all along.

Though more than the surprise about the existence of an uncle, she was worried whether he would offer his help or continue to maintain his distance from their family.

The elder brother had noticed the furrowed brows of the little girl just as they had reached his door which came first.

"Papa will find a way, Vonny.

" He assured her and rubbed her head to comfort her.

Yvonne blushed at his gesture and her heart warmed when he tried to make her feel better about their current crisis.

"En.

" She nodded with a smile and waved goodbye to her brother before heading towards her bedroom.

Her maids, Mrs. Jacinth and Roselie followed her into the room and helped her change out of her clothes into something more comfortable.

Summer had just begun so the temperature during the afternoons tended to rise higher than before.

Once the maids left the room, Yvonne sat in her pure white camisole dress as she picked up a notebook.

In this book, she had noted down every business idea that she had come up with in the past few months.

Numerous sketches of the clover leaves could also be found doodled all over the book which were made in her search for the perfect design.

She had come up with the final sketch of her business' logo after many trials and errors and finally decided on the one that she had shown to her father and brother today.

The little girl had also written down the names of potential business partners that she could collaborate with for her future endeavors.

'Hope Clover's first deal will not end in failure.' She sighed while thinking of this matter.

However, before she could even think about the deal, she needed to find the family who could help her.

To accomplish this, their uncle should be willing to help them out.

'Why is everything so difficult!?' She cursed while closing the book shut with a loud bang.

After dispelling a tiny portion of her frustration on the notebook, Yvonne looked up when she heard the squawking of a bird.

"Tutu?

" She called out in confusion when a shadow gradually expanded before she could see the figure of the large bird.

Tutu, the golden eagle, nodded her head at the little girl who had recognized her before she had arrived.

Yvonne's eyes fell on the bird's legs which had now landed on the window by the table where she was seated.

A helpless roll of her eyes was followed by a chuckle when she noticed that there was something tied to the bird's leg just like usual.

As she stretched out her hand to extract the letter which was tied to Tutu's leg, she could hear the loud galloping of a horse.

'Demon is here.' She shook her head while recognizing the sounds of her etcher who even after so many months of Tutu's frequent visits continued to remain wary of the bird.

Tutu too realized that the noisy horse had arrived so she flew high up in the sky, her attempt of mocking the other etcher who could only growl at her from the ground.

While the two etchers were in the middle of their petty face-off which took place every time Tutu visited, the little girl was busy reading the letter she had received.

{I am back in the Capital!}

The first line she read shocked her as SO had mentioned in his last letter that it would take quite a while before they would leave the Eastern part of the Kingdom where their Caravan had been set up.

'Something must have changed their plans.' She surmised and continued reading.

{I have a present for you which I acquired in the East but Tutu cannot carry it over so… When can we meet?}

This line made Yvonne roll her eyes at his high expectations from her.

'I am a five-year-old year… Soon to be six but does he really expect me to meet him, a complete stranger?' She scoffed at the man who was presumptuous at best.

Though she was curious about what he might have brought back for her, she would never agree to this idea of his.

Meeting an unknown man whom she had been in contact with through these secret letters was something that her father could never know about.

'He would skin SO alive.' She gulped because her father was someone who would not hesitate to do such a thing.

When she read the last line of the letter which was the same as always where he addressed himself as her 'Best Friend' with that strange heart drawn at the end, she could not help but let out a scoff.

SO was someone she had met by chance at Ocular's caravan.

He had approached her when she had spoken about the Tanzanite and the next day, the same stone had arrived at her mansion.

Soon after, she began receiving letters from him and though she had ignored the numerous letters in the beginning, his persistence had broken her strong will to ignore him.

Thus, began the unusual and strange friendship between a young girl and the man whom she had met only once.

At first, she had declared him to be a pervert but over time, she realized that this man would only talk about random nonsense with her.

About the new treasures they acquired, new places he visited.

His itinerary over the past few months, Yvonne for some reason was informed about it all.

'It's like he wants me to know where he is going.' She rolled her eyes at his attempts of remaining in touch with her.

Placing the letter aside, Yvonne turned her eyes towards the window where she could see Tutu soaring in the open skies, zooming from one end of the large pond to the other.

Her etcher, Demon, could only watch and let out low grunts every time the bird came close to him overhead before she flew to the other side.

Yvonne marveled at the high speed with which Tutu was crossing the distance of the pond over and over again as though she was exhibiting her prowess before Demon who could not do what she could.

While the little girl looked on in astonishment, a sudden idea popped into her mind.

A wicked grin formed on her lips as she pulled out a paper to write a reply to the letter she had received from SO today.

{I have a condition.}

Her hand flew across the plain paper as ink stained the sheet, forming words that would become the content of her reply.

{If you can help me fulfill it then I am willing to meet you.}

She smirked as her hand lifted off the desk once she had completed writing the last sentence.

{-Your acquaintance, YSC}

As she waited for the ink to dry, she glanced at the way she ended her reply.

While SO continued to call himself her Best friend, she would only use 'acquaintance' to address herself.

Just like how he never paid heed to her words asking him to change his name, she too did the same and stuck to what she had written just now.

"Tutu!

" She called out to the etcher who was on the far end of the pond.

In the next second, Yvonne's eyes glimmered with awe as the bird appeared before her.

Flapping those large wings, Tutu hovered in the air just outside her window and watched how the little girl tied a reply which she would have to deliver to her Master, SO.

"Bring me a reply soon.

" She demanded when the bird began to fly higher in the sky.

Tutu squawked at the bossy little girl then puffed out her chest in arrogance before it flew in a certain direction.

Yvonne chuckled at the cute behavior of the bird before glancing at her Demon who was also staring at the insolent bird who was now far away from their estate.

"Tutu is not so bad, Demon.

" She placated him but the horse only grunted before stomping the ground in rejection of her words.

His master was getting closer to another etcher so how could poor Demon accept this?

Therefore, even if he knew that Tutu would not cause his Master harm, he refused to be friendly with that nasty bird.

Helpless while looking at her stubborn horse, Yvonne sighed before she went back to take her seat at the desk as she waited for the reply for the man who had just returned to Amarthea.
