Chapter 625 - Journey To The Rose Palace

Since this was an invitation sent by the Princess, the ladies had no objection towards it.

Thus, they nodded when their daughters gazed at them with expectant eyes, asking for permission.

Among them, Yvonne stood with a straight face as she could not be the only one who rejected the invitation extended by the Princess.

As much as she wished to stay away, pointing that out right now would only draw attention towards her.

Therefore, she made no such moves and remained silent throughout.

Raylene smiled at her daughter and seeing that she was with the daughters of Marchioness Kiron gave her relief as she had seen them getting along with each other earlier.

Thus, with a calm heart, she was happy to send her daughter away with the rest of the girls.

"She will be fine.

" Lady Patrina Kiron whispered to Raylene before smiling at her daughters, waving them goodbye.

She had seen Aleena and Rika looking out for Yvonne earlier and was both surprised and assured that the three girls could be comfortable in each others' company.

Duchess Beatrice Tanner had also been worried that the little girl must be overwhelmed because this was the first time she had entered the Palace.

However, the Kiron girls were being amicable with her which brought a smile to her face as well.

Thus, these three waved goodbye to the girls who were now about to leave the garden and head towards the Rose Palace where the Royal Princess resided.

Duchess Brodie's cheeks formed dimples when she smiled widely at her beautiful daughter who was now leading the group of little girls away.

With the children and men now gone from the garden, the ladies decided to stroll around in leisure.

___

'Why couldn't I just stay at home!?' Yvonne groaned in her heart as she walked along.

With Glennise Brodie leading the way and Rika Kiron by her side, the rest followed after them.

These two girls were Princess Felicia's playmates and had better knowledge of the paths in this Palace.

Therefore, everyone simply followed their lead.

Glennise with Rika was at the forefront and right after them were Elna who was next to Cecily Yona.

Then came Yvonne and Aleena with Mae walking behind them, all alone, unlike the rest who were in pairs.

Yvonne could feel a burning gaze landing on her back but she did not turn around to acknowledge it.

Her eyes roamed around as she took in the view of the beautiful Palaces along the way.

Inside the vast Palace grounds, there were numerous smaller palaces and from the looks of it, most seemed unoccupied.

'Well, there are only five royal family members.' She recalled and following logic, they would not need so many palaces anyway.

The royal couple stayed in the Main Palace which they had first visited upon arrival.

Now the girls were headed towards the Rose Palace which was the Princess's residence and was also right next to Prince Fritzens's Sycamore Palace.

Finally, the last Palace that belonged to Prince Draco was far away from where they were right now.

As these girls walked along, every few seconds, Aleena would try to make small talk with the girl next to her.

Yvonne's frozen expressions ever since she heard about visiting Princess Felicia were making Aleena wonder if there was something wrong with her.

Therefore, she tried to loosen her up as she believed that this little girl was just nervous about meeting the Royal Princess.

"Do you think that we will meet the Prince as well?

" She whispered into Yvonne's ear but as they were walking on a narrow path and were close to each other, her voice reached everyone alike.

'I hope not!' Yvonne's eyes widened upon hearing the soft whisper close to her ear.

She could even tolerate meeting the Princess as in her eyes, the poor Princess had been treated badly by her brother and met her pitiful end in the script.

However, if there was one person she wished to stay absolutely far away from then that would be Prince Fritzen.

'Ahem… One more person can be added to that list.' She recalled the name of one other man whom she never wished to interact with now or in the future.

These two men had committed too many atrocious deeds in the name of love.

Therefore, if there was a possibility to stay away then she would grab onto it without a second thought.

So when Aleena whispered those words she only blinked her wide eyes as though she did not know what to say in return.

This reply made Aleena groan as the little girl she was stuck with was so silent that people would assume her to be mute.

While Yvonne gave her no response at all, the others were more than willing to react to her question.

Elna glanced over her shoulder to sneer at the other girl before shaking her head to display her disappointment.

'What will she do even if she meets the Prince?' She scoffed as it would be of no use for the Prince was younger than her.

Thus, there should be no reason for her to even be interested in the Prince and his whereabouts.

However, Aleena had not asked this question with any concealed thoughts in her mind.

She simply wished to see the Prince whom she had heard much about but never gotten the chance to see.

Her little sister Rika had spoken to her about meeting the Prince a few times while studying with the Princess and hence she too wished to see him as well.

This was all she had in mind but her words had been misunderstood by many.

This was because, in the next second, Glennise Brodie halted in her steps and turned around.

Seeing her stop, the rest followed suit and they paused in the middle of their short journey to the Rose Palace.

'Dammit! You provoked her.' Yvonne grimaced after noticing the flaring nostrils of the girl who had been leading them until now.

The Prince was a sensitive topic for Glennise Brodie who was now leering at Aleena with a fierce glare.

Cecily wasn't interested in the petty fights they had as she was much older than all of them while Elna was enjoying the scene of Miss Brodie glaring at Aleena.

'This is why you think before you speak.' She gloated but her face displayed none of those emotions.

Instead, it appeared that she was just curious to see what happens around her even when she was most eager to witness Aleena being reprimanded by Miss Glennise.

Standing in the last position, Mae Blaise was glad that she had not yet muttered her admittance about seeing the Prince as well.

If she had done so then she too would be getting the same hostile look from Miss Glennise as Aleena was.

Aleena Kiron finally realized that she somehow must have offended Glennise Brodie by what she had said.

Yvonne had been observing those around her as for once, the attention wasn't on her but on Aleena.

Thus, she could see the anger that had arisen on Glennise's face as she gripped her dress tight in her hands.

'Looks like the plot has already been put into play.' She surmised as she could see that the very mention of Prince Fritzen's name from some other girl had gotten her riled up.

This was just as what was mentioned in the script she had read.

Glennise Brodie would fall in love with Prince Fritzen while she studied alongside the Princess and that love would turn her life upside down in the future.

Though right now, it must have just been a crush, it looked like things were progressing faster than expected.

'Did that Blue bird do something to hasten the plot?' She wondered if this was the reason for Glennise to start acting out even before the main plot of the script had commenced.

This thought brought a frown to her face as things could get challenging for her if her theory turned out to be right.

While she was lost in her thoughts about the script and how it was evolving due to reasons unknown to her, someone finally broke the silence.

Rika Kiron had at first chuckled at her elder sister's curiosity but her friend wasn't as amused about it as she was.

Instead, she found Glennise's brows furrow and her lips curve downward to form a frown.

These changes in her demeanor reminded her about something she had guessed a long time back but had kept it a secret from everyone else.

Every time the Prince came around to greet his little sister, Miss Glennise would blush and get nervous in his presence.

At first, Rika had assumed this to be her nervousness but found that Glennise would be fine even when speaking to the King.

It was just with the Prince that she behaved in that shy manner.

Observing this for a while, she finally came to the conclusion that her friend liked the Prince and was shy and nervous only in his presence.

However, since Glennise had not revealed her feelings to anyone, Rika pretended that she too was oblivious so as to not embarrass her friend.

She had also kept this matter a secret from everyone else, including her family.

Thus, her elder sister did not realize that she had stepped on a landmine by expressing her interest in meeting the Prince.

Therefore, she decided to step up and protect both her sister and Glennise from revealing her secret before everyone present here.

"Sister, I'm sure the Prince is too busy to make an appearance.

" She chuckled, as though she had not seen her friend's glare from earlier.

"I understand that you are curious to see our future Crown Prince but you should understand that he has a lot of responsibilities to attend to.

" She explained in an attempt to soothe the tension around them.

Aleena widened her eyes upon hearing this and she nodded while scratching her cheek for what she had blurted out earlier.

On the side, watching Rika diffuse the tension with ease which led to Aleena admitting her mistake and Glennise's frown ceasing entirely, Yvonne could not deny that she was more than impressed with the youngest daughter of the Kiron family.

'She not only made her sister drop the conversation but also ensured that Glennise wasn't mad at her any longer.' She praised the girl who had managed to do so with just two sentences.

Her words had also acted as a reminder to Glennise that it was absolutely normal for others to be curious about the Prince.

After all, he was the future Crown Prince who would become their King in the later years.

Therefore, Aleena or anyone else asking about him was something that was expected as they would be curious about the man who would lead their Kingdom in the future.

Thus, Yvonne applauded Rika's efforts which succeeded in bringing peace back to their little group.
