Chapter 124 - Suit yourself

Dohyuk gasped.

He never expected, nor had he dreamed of such an event to happen.

For Blass, he considered his feelings as dead. He had nothing to protect anymore, and the only thing remained was vengeance. Yet, that was not true — he still had feelings.

Through five months of teaching people, he had remembered those feelings.

“This is not my world.” He claimed, “But I do not want these people to die.”

Maybe he saw his own people in the students he was teaching. But even then, it was his newfound purpose.

“That is all I want.”

“…”

Dohyuk then felt nauseous from within as a message popped up.

<>

“Wha-”

The words were crashing into one another. Casita’s system was telling Dohyuk that this was wrong.

Dohyuk’s body began to tense up, as he shot up straight and began to shake as if he was having a seizure. Blass stood up and grabbed Dohyuk.

The body that was holding onto Dohyuk was the place Blass who chose to run from Casita. It could not be recognized by Casita’s system. That’s why the messages were buggy since having religion was also a part of the system after all.

<>

The system warned him.

“Ugh… it’s not letting me…”

“What…?!” Blass asked as he shook Dohyuk’s shoulder multiple times. But he couldn’t say anything.

Dohyuk then closed his eyes and straightened himself. It was still out of control, but he was able to stand up by himself at least

He looked at Blass and asked, “Can you say it one more time?”

“…?”

“That you trust me and will follow me to the end?”

“…Of course.” Blass nodded.

“If you want, I will happily give my loyalty and sacrifice, my master.”

“D-did you hear that?” Dohyuk said. “He said it.”

He was full of sweat, but he was smiling. It didn’t matter who it was. Someone was trusting him. A mere seizure and threating messages weren’t enough to scare Dohyuk.

“Take it away if you want, you bastard.”

-Over the Horizon

In the next moment, a light began to shine from Dohyuk and from Blass. Then from Blass’s chest, something about the size of a fist began shooting out. It was the shape shifting that Blass used to do, but it wasn’t Blass who was controlling it.

The metal object that came out from Blass’s chest attacked Dohyuk. The object then turned into something snake-like and wrapped itself around Dohyuk’s left arm before it flattened into a thin layer and covered Dohyuk’s entire left arm like a metal arm that resembled Blass.

“…”

Dohyuk watched it dumbfoundedly and grabbed it with his right arm. It was weird. He could feel his left arm covered by something, but he could also feel his right hand touching it.

“Digest.”

Nothing happened. Dohyuk looked up.

“What is this…”

“What is the meaning of this?!”

Blass finished speaking first. He was looking at something.

“Why do I have messages again… no, wait. Why are you my ‘God’ now?!”

“Uh, because…” Dohyuk shrugged, “You believed me?”

“Believe? Me? No… I mean- yes. I did, but that is because I will serve you and…”

“Isn’t that the same thing?”

“It’s different!” the metal man shouted. “Religion? I serve you as my god? That’s… what’s the difference between serving Casita… or Vehume…”

“I’m not them.”

“Take it back.”

“What?”

“I don’t plan on serving you as my god!”

Dohyuk then walked over to him. He knew why Blass was angry. Like Dohyuk, Blass hated all gods.

“Even if you say that…”

There was nothing Dohyuk could do. Yet as he placed his hand on Blass….

“Whoa.”

“What is it? What do you see?”

“Your faith is very honest, despite what you say.”

Before Blass could reply, Dohyuk continued, “Well, it’s not going away anytime soon so we’ll talk it over for now.”

Dohyuk then raised his left arm.

“What is this?”

His left arm now looked like what Blass was made out of.

“…I am not sure.”

Blass answered after a while. “My body and the labyrinth is under my control, but I couldn’t control the part that came out from my body. Even now, I don’t think I have control over that.”

“…You said your ‘Nature’ is gone right?”

“My Nature?”

Dohyuk nodded. He must have received something from Blass when he became his disciple. Yuri and Giwon had given him their first Nature to Dohyuk after becoming a disciple. Dohyuk thought it was the answer.

“No, that is not my Nature.” Blass shook his head, “My Nature is gone.”

“It’s gone?”

“I don’t know the reason, but a Nature is deeply rooted within one’s core. I am a different being at the core after I moved into this metal body. I believe the Nature is affected by it.”

“…”

Dohyuk scanned through his stats, but he couldn’t find an answer.

“So… everything is in question for now. Okay. At least there’s no harm. I have some business with the prison.”

Blass asked, “The prisoners?”

“Yeah.” He nodded, “I need a guide.”

It was fortunate that the people were out drunk. If any of them were awake to hear who Dohyuk was trying to bring out, they would have been terrified.

“Take out Jung Ilgyu.”
