Chapter 142 - One More
They were tools.
It wasn’t only the tower. There were the angels too.
After gods came to Earth, it seemed like they stopped moving.
It was normal. They were like that before.
People said that even in the previous life, those angels sat on the tower as if they were dead.
Their job was to help with the progress. Holding trials and making humans face hardships, was the job of the gods, not the angels. That’s why they were busy working in the early stages of the illumination where no gods had arrived yet, especially during that short time when the stages moved from one to another.
They were moving again now. Dohyuk clearly saw white wings moving near the tower, and it wasn’t only from the port’s tower. The tower from Dohyuk’s city also had its angels moving about after the huge siren sound.
“Should we evacuate the people? I should..”
“No.” Dohyuk shook his head. “They won’t harm anyone. They don’t do that.”
Giwon then came up with an answer.
“I guess it’s your first time hearing it.”
“Have you heard it before?”
“Yes, a few times. Those angels woke up to the siren when there were announcements. I’m guessing that the sound is for those angels.”
“It’s like a wake-up alarm?”
“Probably.”
Dohyuk then nodded and sent Giwon and Heeyun to work on their tasks. The city had Lee Yuri, so there was nothing to worried about. Dohyuk then walked toward the bottom of the tower at the dock. The response was immediate.
-Have you visited a special occasion?
A voice came into his head and Dohyuk looked up. The four-winged angel was flying over Dohyuk’s head.
-O’God of Unbreakable.
The angel looked as disgusting as ever, even with its formalness. However, after all this time, Dohyuk sensed something very powerful.
For the first time, Dohyuk could now feel how strong these angels were.
‘Dammit.’
Dohyuk retained his calm look even when he was frustrated.
‘…Still not enough?’
Even when it was limited to a region, Dohyuk just fought against a god and achieved victory. But the angel in front of him… was far more. The power the angel wielded was much more than Mayhab’s figure that drew power from the entire region. Considering the fact that he had a way to utilize Mayhab’s weakness in fighting, it was probably much harder to fight against the angel.
Dohyuk then thought of vast lands of Earth, and how small the region was compared to it. Then how many of these ‘towers’ were set in place? How many four-winged angels were in this world?
And just how powerful was this Casita?
-…y have you come, oh God?
The angel asked again.
“It’s the annoying siren that brought me here. What’s up?”
It wasn’t true. The only reason why he came was to check on four-winged angel’s power, which he had already finished doing.
-Our Lord God has shown his will.
“What about it?”
-He is not satisfied with the progress of the illumination. He gave his grace to allow all the god to access this world… but the progress is disappointing.
“…”
Dohyuk raised his eyes. Progress? Of course there was no progress. More than half of humans in the world had already turned. It also meant that there were a lot who didn’t turn, but it wasn’t easy now. Most who hadn’t turned were weak. It was too harsh of a world for them to even adapt to it.
-Do not worry, O’ God of Unbreakable.
“…Why would I be worried?” Dohyuk asked.
-This is not the price your world has to pay.
“…?”
-The illumination is not your crusade. It is for those that bring the teaching that need to focus on their job. Those gods who are in this world are not doing their job well.
Dohyuk gasped. He began to understand what the angel was trying to say.
-Lord Casita’s anger will only target those.
With that, the sky darkened and Dohyuk looked up.
“…!!”
He had faced something similar before when countless gods were looking down at Dohyuk. But they weren’t looking at Dohyuk right now. Instead, they were writhing. There was no sound, but it was easy to see that they were in pain.
“This is mad.”
Dohyuk was dumbfounded. Casita was unleashing his fury upon all of those gods. One disgusting thing was that he was punishing the gods. Was it okay for humans to feel relieved for not feeling the wrath of the gods?
No.
The reason for their punishment was because they weren’t doing their job right. And that job was to make humans go more crazy.
Even after a long time, the silhouettes kept on ‘screaming’.
And when the punishment was over, the angel spoke.
-Our Lord God knows that punishment isn’t the only answer.
And with that voice, all the one-winged angels began to flap their wings.
“There is an announcement for us too.”
-Not all.
Dohyuk then realized to who, the announcement was for. There were countless one-winged angels on the tower, but there were only two that flew out from it. One flew toward Dohyuk’s city and one dropped down to Giwon.
‘The other one is for Lee Yuri then.’
It was an announcement for the beasts. Dohyuk spoke to the angel in front of him.
“Then you have no announcement for me.”
-No.
The answer was immediate.
-Interestingly, the God of Unbreakable has not gone through illumination, but you are in the announcement.
“…Because I am a god.”
-Excellent.
“Cut to the chase.”
The angel smiled and nodded.
-From now on, everyone will have the ability to see the rating they have not seen until now. It’s called ‘Mind’.
“…”
Dohyuk knew of its existence after using the sleeping bag. It was the rating that showed the corruption of the human mind.
“But why…”
What was the point of letting the ‘beasts’ to know? They already had turned. There was no need to see it.
-Lord Casita has decided to add a new ‘reward’ in this progress. It is for those who are illuminated and those who have the will to help with the illumination.
Dohyuk frowned. A reward?
-For anyone who has been successfully illuminated, and those who have not gone through illumination, a reward will be given according to the number of successful illumnati…
And before the angel could finish, Dohyuk kicked the angel’s chin.
