Chapter 159 - By themselves

The ‘arms’ just didn’t express their master’s pain. Although it didn’t look like it would work well with close combat, it still had tremendous power. All the arms grabbed the attacker. But the attacker was made out of metal, so it didn’t take any damage from the sharp teeth or claws.

“Is that all?” Blass taunted as he pulled back his fist. He then pushed out with his palm, creating an energy shockwave that pulled out all those arms. The stomach was open yet again, and Blass shouted.

“I asked you. Is that all?!”

He then punched in. Vehume’s body flinched. The only reason it wasn’t pushed back was because the attack was a penetrating one. As Blass pulled back his fist again, there was now a giant hole in Vehume’s body.

“This doesn’t mean anything…”

Vehume’s mouths spoke.

“This body… is a part of my power…. Killing this won’t change anything…”

“You know that it’s not true,” Blass answered coldly and Dohyuk knew that Blass was right. He felt the shock and disbelief from Vehume’s voice.

“This attack is also just a part of my power,” Blass mimicked. “It was always so, Vehume. Never once, even when you were trying to flee, or when you tried to attack me, you never faced my fist directly.”

“….!”

Before Vehume could speak again, Dohyuk struck with his fist. Vehume’s body was thrown to the ground.

“That’s dumb.”

It was Dohyuk who spat this time.

“You shouldn’t have gone with the wing get some distance. He’ll run away now.”

Dohyuk spoke annoyingly, but it was actually targeted toward Vehume.

“Well, I guess there’s nothing I can do now. Hey, run away since you got a chance. Or else…”

“WHO!”

The mouths shouted in unison.

“WHO SAID I WILL RUN!!”

“Oh, so you are not running away? You can’t even stand a few more blows. Don’t waste it and just…”

Dohyuk didn’t even have to finish as Vehume began flapping his wings. But it wasn’t toward the back or to the sky. Vehume flew directly toward Dohyuk and Blass. Blass then glanced at Dohyuk and asked, “What are you doing?”

Dohyuk said, “It’s all yours. Finish him. Let’s not waste any more time here.”

He was right. The citizens were fighting against vampires.

The metal ground helped a lot, but what helped the most was Dohyuk’s power.

<>

Dohyuk’s 1st power as a god — it was a power that controlled mentality. It would allow ordinary people to stand against any type of fear or mind-controlling skills.

“Let’s go!!”

It worked well to pump these people up and make them forget about the pain from minor wounds. But even with such adrenaline, none of them lost their ability to analyze and think things through.

It allowed them to withstand fear, but it also didn’t do to the extreme.

That was the ‘Unbreakable’.

“HAAAAA!”

Changsu swung his metal club with both of his hands. One of them had struck down one of the vampire’s faces. It didn’t have a rank since Blass had designed it to be durable and heavy, but it still worked as intended. It destroyed all the face bones of the vampire, killing it instantly.

‘I…’

‘I won.’ It was his first victory achieved by his pure strength. Changsu became excited, but he kept on moving as his conscience told him to move on. Another vampire attacked him and Changsu blocked the attack with his club. He withstood the attack and swung the club with all of his might. The club then hit the vampire’s chest, destroying its ribcage and its heart.

Another perfect victory. But this time, his body was flung to the side as he lost balance. The third vampire charged at him, and this time he couldn’t defend himself.

“UGH!”

Another man jumped out to defend Changsu with a giant sword. It was a piece of B-rank equipment. He didn’t have the skill to use it, but he only trained to use the sword in two ways: swing his sword to land a blow, or use it to defend. It had no use on its own as he had no other way to fight, but their main job wasn’t to ‘fight’.

“What the…”

The vampire became dumbfounded as the man with the giant sword was flung backward, but Changsu already found his balance and was attacking him. He attacked the third vampire, and the vampire used both hands to defend against the blow, but another giant sword was coming at him again. The woman was just like the man who had blocked the previous attack.

Greatsword Team.

They were a three-man team that assisted Changsu. They only had 2 jobs. If Changsu allowed an attack, they jump in to defend. If Changsu leaves the enemy open, attack to finish it off.

Citizens all fought in cooperatively as trained. Throughout the battle, the only shouts were the signals to be sent to the other to attack and defend. Everyone assisted everyone else.

After a while, they realized two things.

Dohyuk had not arrived ‘yet’, and strangely, there were no more vampires standing.

“…”

The people looked at each other dumbfoundedly and realized. They began to shout victoriously.

They had won by themselves.
