Chapter 27 - I can see

nHe could feel the crushing feeling through his foot and Dohyuk thought that this feeling of hitting someone was something he couldn’t get used to. Julian and Dohyuk’s bodies both fell. Dohyuk used his landing move to steady himself. The impact had some shock, but it was bearable. He then turned, to Julian who was lying flat on the ground. Dohyuk didn’t receive a message that told him Julian was dead yet, but his top of the skull was crushed in, obviously destroyed from the kick.
n‘Gaiter.’
nThe gaiter was wrapped with a rope on Julian, and it seemed like it would be difficult to quickly take it off.
n‘I can’t just digest it but…’
nDohyuk then turned around and faced the others. These were the men Julian had brought and he had no way to fight all of them at once, but Dohyuk readied himself.
n“Anyone. Come fight me.”
nThe Great Emperor made a declaration and the men began running back. Those were just some ordinary men who could not overcome their fear to stand against the once mightiest person on Earth.
nHowever, some people among the crowd did not run.
n‘They are trying to fight.’
nDohyuk felt some of them. As the fleeing group went further away, the remaining four ‘beasts’ stood.
nA well-built man with an iron helmet.
nA high school boy in his uniform.
nA woman with blonde-dyed hair.
nA short woman in her mid-40s.
nThey weren’t Julian’s officers. Rather, they were those who always looked for a chance to betray Julian.
n“…”
nThey did not charge headfirst at Dohyuk and glanced at each other. Even they weren’t friends with one another.
n“…First.”
nThe middle-aged woman spoke. “We will fight together and catch him alive. We can discuss on the ‘share’ later.”
n“I agree.”
n“Me too.”
n“Good.”
nThe four of them then tried closing in, but Dohyuk began running away.
n“GET HIM!” the high school boy shouted as he ran out and the blonde woman followed. After about 10 seconds of running, they realized they were the only ones following Dohyuk. Dohyuk then stopped and turned.
n“…Two.”
nDohyuk sighed in relief. It seemed they had different motives. He thought those with a 2nd Nature would not take the risk to go after Dohyuk, and he was right. Beyond the teenager and the woman, the man and middle-aged woman were fighting over Julian’s body. What they were after was the gaiter.
n“Those idiots!”
nThey became tense. They still had the upper hand in numbers but the number had decreased to two. Dohyuk charged in.
nThe other two fought over the gaiter.
n“UGH…”
nIt was the man who fell.
n“You think I’m weak because I’m a woman?”
n“You b*tch…”
nShe was really powerful. It seemed she had received power from a god that was related to magic. The man’s
n“You should’ve known better.”
nThe woman struck the man with her magic against man’s stomach, which threw him a couple of meters away. Instead of finishing him off, the woman decided to take the gaiter first.
n“Dammit…!”
nThe man clawed the sand in rage, but he soon felt something.
n“Huh…?”
nIt was a glass bottle filled with salt. It was that Dohyuk threw from above. Was it a coincidence that it was here? To the man’s eye, a message that Dohyuk hadn’t seen before popped up.
n<
nConsuming a little will make one forget unneeded emotions for battle. It comes with consequences which… butttt youuuu shouldn’ttt think aboutttt thattttt!!!!
n“…!”
nIt wasn’t like when he saw other items. It was distorted and was getting even more distorted.
nEattttt theee f*****ck uppppp!
nThe men opened his helm and consumed the powder from the bottle. The effect was instantaneous.

nThere were stats had never seen in his previous life, but it didn’t matter.
nNICEEE!
nThe man stood up. He couldn’t feel any pain. He turned and saw the woman pulling out the gaiter.
nDohyuk gritted his teeth in front of two bodies. One of his wrists hurt because he’d lost his hand, and it was hard to grab the weapons that belonged to the attackers. Dohyuk then turned away and began walking to where Julian was. The winner was decided. The middle-aged woman’s dead body was crushed as the man kept kicking and stomping on it. He then turned to Dohyuk. His red eyes were visible through his helmet.

nDohyuk said, “You should’ve run away with the gaiter.”
n“I thought about doing that, but there’s no need.”
nThe man flashed the salt bottle. Dohyuk immediately recognized what it was.
n“Whatever this is, it’s great!”
nThe man consumed more salt.

n“HAAAAA!”
nThe man shook as if he just consumed a drug and put the bottle into his pocket.
n“Amazing! It’s like my mind is cleared of pain or fear! No other drug can do this!”
n“…I don’t think it’s free.”
n“HUH? Did you see the description>?”
nThe man became curious, “But it doesn’t matter!”
nAnd then he charged at Dohyuk with incredible speed. Dohyuk calmly reacted; he dodged and kicked the man’s leg and body. He destroyed the man’s bones and inner organs.
n“Doesn’t matter!”
nSince he couldn’t feel any pain, the man closed in and held onto Dohyuk’s arm.
nTouch that grants power
nIt was a Nature that increased strength while touching the opponent. The man slammed down Dohyuk down. His two legs pinned Dohuk’s legs along with his left arm. The man used his other hand to pin Dohyuk’s head down.
n“It’s amazing! SEE! I even beat you!”
nDohyuk raised his free arm, but there was no hand, so all it could do was to smear its blood on the helm.
n“Haha, you are struggling. How about I give you a chance?”
n“…”
n“Tell me, why should I let you live?”
nBut even if the man didn’t ask, Dohyuk was going to say it anyway.
n“Digest.”
n“…!!?”
nThe man flinched and checked the hand. There was nothing on it. The light then shined from where bodies of the high school boy and the blonde woman were. His hand which was holding onto teenager’s dagger was waiting for the master’s signal.
nThen, with the new hand that appeared, Dohyuk grabbed the helm.
n“Digest.”
nThe helmet disappeared and Dohyuk grabbed the man’s face.
n“AAAARGH!”
n“….!!!”
nThe man began pressuring Dohyuk’s head.
n“YOU FAILED! I CANNOT FEEL-”
nBut that was it. Without the helmet, he was much weaker than Dohyuk. Besides, his Stamina was much weaker. His pinning did no damage against Dohyuk, while his head was getting destroyed. Soon, the power that pushed Dohyuk down was released.
n<
n<
n“…What?”
nDohyuk became confused. He acquired only hundreds of coins when he killed Eunho. The man with the helmet wasn’t as strong. The reason why he was pinned down was due to the fact that it was part of the plan.
n“…”
nAs he looked down, a bottle dropped from man’s pocket. It was the bottle from Ka’Kudenol. Dohyuk picked it up. He couldn’t see anything, but he heard a voice.
n<
n“…Damn.”
nHe then opened the bag and threw it in. He didn’t want to carry it around, but he just had the feeling that if he threw it away, it would become another unknown threat. He then looked down at Julian. Dohyuk raised his feet to finish him off, but he had to kick elsewhere. There wasn’t anything, he hit something.
n“Ugh…”
nNamgun appeared. He was so careful in his hiding to kill Dohyuk.
n“How…”
n“I can see you.”
nTo be precise, he felt his presence.
n“You’re shaking.”
nNamgun was shaking, but so was Dohyuk. Ever since he fought against Julian, he was terrified.
n“Tell me.”
n“W-what…”
n“What’s next?”
nDohyuk pointed to the cave.
n“What was Julian Dekin after in this cave?”
nTreasures that Julian sought after to become like Dohyuk. Namgun couldn’t resist and began talking.
n
