Chapter 36 - Trespasser (2)

n

n

n“Do you see?”

nShe saw a lavishly-clothed Bermuran whipping another Bermuran.

n“These fools live by the rule of the ‘Survival of the Fittest’. Weaklings are trash. And humans are even lower than that. But we ‘humans’ will become like that soon. It’s a blessing for those weak ones to die fast.”

n“But…”

n“I’m not telling you to understand.”

nKyuho spoke as if he was reading a book to a child.

n“Just accept it.”

nHe then let go of her, and Heeyun coughed.

n“You said you’re going to pay me back?”

n“Y-Yes.”

n“You don’t need to. But…”

nKyuho looked into Heeyun’s eyes.

n“If you act dumb and Dohyuk gets into trouble because of you…”

n“…!”

n“I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make you regret that you exist.”

nHeeyun thought her breathing stopped in fear, but she still barely answered.

n“Okay. But you don’t need to worry about that.” She said, “If that happens, I’ll kill myself first.”

nKyuho raised his eyebrows and smiled.

n“Good. You might be good.”

n“Not maybe. I am good.”

n“Hah, okay. I was worried if I was going to have another Choi Jimin.”

n“Jimin? You mean…”

nHeeyun tried to ask, but they were interrupted by some ‘group’.

n“Wow, isn’t this amazing?”

nThere was a man that looked to be in his thirties in a clean suit who spoke. There were about ten people behind him. What was more interesting was that the two men right behind him were Bermuran.

n“It’s an honor to meet one of the moons. It’s been a long time, Mr. Lee Kyuho.”

n“…”

nKyuho narrowed his eyes and asked, “Who are you?”

n“…”

n“I don’t know you. Do you know me?”

n“I-I do. We met in the 2nd Great War…”

n“It was a f*cking long time ago, you dumb f*ck! You think you’re cool because you got some followers now? Beat it. I don’t remember you, nor do I have the intention to remember you.”

nThe man in the suit was shocked, and the others including Heeyun seemed to be surprised.

n“Well, but I think I know what you did here though. Is it you who’s playing with the missions?”

n“…So, you knew.”

nHeeyun became confused and looked at Kyuho.

n“There are more missions than the one you saw. Most of them require you to kill worms or clean up outhouses.”

n“…!”

nThe reward gave less coins, but it was much easier to complete.

n“I was just lucky. If you don’t know me, then let me introduce myself. I am Oh Jaehyun. I am now overseer of this merchant district as of today.”

n“Hah.”

nOh Jaehyun was really lucky. His region was right next to the city of Katla. It wouldn’t have meant much if it was his first time, but Jaehyun had prior knowledge.

n“I knew which mission would bring me the best money, and having arrived two days earlier gave me good opportunities.”

nJaehyun was already part of the city and was now bribing Katla’s guards too.

n“My Nature also helped me.”

n“Oh, you’re a talker type.”

n“You are right.”

nJaehyun showed his tongue.

n<>

nHis Nature gave him the upper hand in convincing and negotiating with people. With it and some coins, he was able to ask for favors from the guards. He used them against people who entered the city. He then used those entered the city again to gain more coins.

n“So, now I am the only ‘human’ to have influence in this city. There are some other groups, but most groups have been taken over by me and my friends. And we are given favor for missions because of it.”

n“Oh, that’s great.” Kyuho clapped unenthusiastically, “So, summarize it in three words.”

n“Why don’t you work together with me?” Jaehyun smiled, “I lack power, but I have influence. It will grow so you won’t be able to get good missions without my help now.”

nHe continued, “I won’t touch you, but if you are going to continue on killing…”

n“You wanna die?”

n“What?”

n“That’s not three words, you f*ck.”

n“…!”

n“Three words?”

nKyuho smiled and answered with three words.

n“Missions. Or. Die.”

n“What…!”

n“I’m. Not. Joking. YOU F*CK!”

nHowever, Jaehyun did not underestimate Kyuho. He took a step back and the two Bermuran guards blocked him.

n“I will give you another chance…”

n“I don’t need that sh*t. I… ugh, this is boring.”

n“All the guards here are under my influence! You think you’re still an all-powerful being?! Listen, if you refuse my offer, you will DIE!” Jaehyun blurted out angrily.

n“Think about that girl too. There are Bermurans who find humans to be charming, so I can sell her to them.”

n“You’re a crazy bastard!”

nHeeyun flashed her middle finger at Jaehyun as Kyuho smiled.

n“Good, good.”

nHe then licked his lips. Just then, ten more guards ran up to them.

n“NICE!”

nUnexpected reinforcements. But they weren’t here to help Jaehyun.

n“HEY! What are you doing?!”

nTheir leader shouted at the two guards.

n“Stop playing around and come! There’s an infiltrator at the 2nd gate!”

nAnd with that, they left. Even if they were bribed, Jaehyun was still a worthless human.

n“Huh…?”

nJaehyun turned and looked at the guards.

n“Wow, that’s good bribery.”

nIn an alleyway of the city, Dohyuk silently placed the spear on the ground.

n“…”

nThe spear used by guards had no rank. Dohyuk couldn’t digest it, so that meant he couldn’t heal himself with it. None of his wounds were critical, but he was losing blood. He pressed his ears against the building and checked inside. When he was sure that no one was in there, he jumped in.

n“Good.”

nIt had been going well until now. Dohyuk then pulled out a piece of paper.

n<>

nThis was one of the three papers he received from Lawrence. One of them had the following sentence on the bac:.

n-Sells 30 to 120k priced items!

nI aim for the most comfortable transaction!

nDohyuk gave a command.

n“Wallet.”

nAnd then he checked the result of his few hours of hunting within the city.

n<>

n-Coins: 92889

n“Hmph.”

nHe ripped the paper, and after a distortion came a bright voice.

n“THANK YOU, CUSTOMER~!!”

n
