Chapter 38 - I found you
n
n
nYou can’tttt dooooo thattttt.
nFor the first time, Dohyuk was witnessing distorted words.
nIt’s a presentttt. You can’tttt sellll ittttt. Who taught you such….
n“Bah.”
nDohyuk thought it was pointless to read and tried to pull out a ticket.
nYou’re breakkkinnnng my heaaaartttt!
nPain.
n“….!!”
nSuddenly, severe pain struck him. It was ‘Punishment’, sent by Ka’Kudenol through the glass bottle.
n<
n-Over the Horizon
nDohyuk saw the letters.
n<
n<
nHowever, it wasn’t like the Goddess of Fire. She wasn’t trying to kill Dohyuk.
nDoesss itttt hurtttt????
nAnd then…
n<
nThe goddess also paid the price.
nIt hurtssss meeeee toooo
nDohyuk gritted his teeth. He could have let go of the bottle, but he fought back out of rebellion. He couldn’t understand, but it was just his instinct.
nIt’s betteeeeeer to feeeel togetheerrrrr
nDohyuk took out the scroll. And before he could rip it-
n“…!”
nThe pain stopped immediately. Dohyuk gasped and-
nSurpriseeeee-!
nAn even greater pain struck him, and Dohyuk dropped the bottle.
nBut why?
nI can’t stannnndddd ittttttttt anymoreeee
nEven after he dropped the bottle, he was able to see the message.
nCatchhhhh meeeee
nThe glass bottle began to roll as if it was a human who was trying to stand. Then, the bottle moved out of the building’s door.
n“…!”
nDohyuk quickly followed after it, but the bottle wasn’t there anymore.
nKeeeyaaaaaa
nOn the opposite side, right by the corner of the building, a Bermuran guard was holding the glass bottle. It seemed like he was reading something, and he brought it up to his mouth.
nI wass eaaateeen byyyy anotheeeer mannnn
nDohyuk quickly ran to stop the guard. The last time a man ate the powder inside, it gave Dohyuk a hard time fighting him. And this guard was much stronger than the man.
n<
n-Stamina: 96( 10)(D)
n“Why…”
nWhen Dohyuk arrived, the guard was lowering the glass bottle from his mouth. His eyes were bloodshot.
n“Did you eat the thing you just picked up from the ground?!”
nDohyuk kicked the guard’s hand which was holding his sword. His foot cut off the guard’s hand and it dropped with the sword. Even so, Dohyuk did not stop.
n‘He won’t feel any pain!’
nHe quickly kicked again to cut the guard’s neck and successfully hit his throat. But-
nDohyuk’s leg was grabbed mid-air.
n“Uh… gu…”
nThe guard did not care about his wounds and grabbed Dohyuk’s leg. Then, with the natural power of Bermurans, it allowed him to whip Dohyuk into the wall.
n“…ARGH!”
nDohyuk crouched to decrease the damage, but he heard something being broken inside himself. The Bermuran whipped him into the ground again. Then, when he tried to whip for the third, Dohyuk was back on top of his head. However, that was a mistake. Dohyuk quickly slammed his foot down at the crown of the man’s head.
nAnd with that, the fight was over. The Bermuran was losing too much blood to stand and Dohyuk used another kick to finish him off.
n<
n<
nLike last time, he was given more coins than before. But it was not for free.
n“…”
nDohyuk stood and checked himself.
n‘I can hold.’
nHe had two more items, but it was too early to eat another.
n<
nDohyuk glanced around and then picked up the glass bottle. It must be somewhere… then, he found it. But it wasn’t close.
nI’mmmm heeeeeere-
nOn the road, in the distance, a white dot was moving away, along with the message window on top.
nCatchhhh meeeeeee-
nJaehyun’s final moment was devastating.
n“…”
n“….”
nNo one could make a sound, but they witnessed the end of the former leader of the region.
n“Eww.”
nKyuho threw away what he was holding as if he was holding some dirty thing. It was Jaehyun’s head. However, it was the part he had pulled it off without the chin, from Jaehyun’s body.
n“HEEEEEK!”
nHis former underlings screamed in shock as they hurriedly backed away. But they weren’t the only ones who were terrified. The girl next to Kyuho was also scared.
n“…”
nShe was dumbfounded. While Kyuho was ripping Jaehyun apart, many underlings tried to take Heeyun as a hostage. However, they didn’t know that they were going to die faster than Jaehyun with that choice.
n“…”
nHeeyun looked down at her hands. They were shaking.
nMan of the Green
nThis was the Nature that her father threw his life away for to give to his daughter. It activated as ‘day’ came, and Heeyun killed them with it. It wasn’t her first time killing a man, but it was the first time she did so with absolute power.
n“…!”
nShe flinched as someone laid his hand on her shoulder. It was Kyuho.
n“You passed.”
n“…”
n“Let’s eat.”
nHeeyun tried to ask if it wasn’t time for that since they needed to complete missions with this chance, but she couldn’t speak.
n“It’s okay. Here.”
nKyuho pulled Heeyun to a portable food cart. The Bermuran owner scowled as they walked in and sold a piece of bread, fruit that looked like a watermelon, and a quarter of cheese for a whopping 1500 coins.
n“We can always ‘make’ a mission if we choose to. Eat it while you watch.”
n“What?”
n“It won’t take long.”
nAs he said, Heeyun was able to see it all. First was the fight between those underlings. Without their leader, or Kyuho and Heeyun, they began fighting amongst themselves to get the best missions before the others. And before they finished, a new group would appear. As with Jaehyun, they were groups who resided in other regions.
n“They’re cute, right?”
n“…”
nHeeyun could only just watch. Hundreds of people were fighting each other. If it wasn’t for the fact that they were returning with knowledge from their previous life, the city was bound to be empty for a few years. Yet, thousands of people were already here, waiting for jobs, and they were trying hard to earn money that would cover the rate of 5000 coins a day.
n“It’s sad. Winning won’t change anything for them.”
n“Why…”
nA man, who was blinded since his head was crushed, crawled on the land. He barely managed to get out of a fight, but some Bermuran who was smirking cracked his head and killed him. There were also other Bermurans who were beating the weak ones as the fight grew bigger.
n“They’re like cars with no brakes,” Kyuho commented as he munched on the bread.
n“You have no choice but to speed up and hope that you’re the fastest.”
n“…”
n“But most aren’t fast enough.”
nHeeyun turned to watch the brawl. She felt like she was going to cry, but she turned away and picked up the bread. Kyuho watched her in amusement. And when Heeyun was almost done eating…
n<
n-Emergency Mission
nUnknown words popped up in front of everyone, including the two of them.
n-Capture infiltrator in the city of Katla
n-Repeatable – No
nIt was a simple mission, but what made people gasp was the reward.
n-Reward 500,000 coins
n-When captured alive and given to the High Priest, reward will be doubled.
nIt was an unbelievable amount of coins.
n-The Great Aruga is enraged.
nThose words were accompanied by a voice that thundered over the entire city.
n-The Great Aruga will reward additional prizes to any who are brave enough to capture this evil entity and bring him to the altar of Aruga.
n“…!”
nThe brawl stopped immediately.
n“500 thousand!”
nIt was one million if captured alive. It was an amount that could make the weakest become the strongest immediately! And, there were additional prizes. Even if it was the weakest of the gods, if they received Godly Items…
n-The infiltrator is moving in the northeastern region, toward the Central Shrine. Capture him. All movement restrictions on humans are now off for this mission.
nAnd people started moving. They were running towards the target and the reward. When all of them disappeared, Kyuho stood up and turned to Heeyun.
n“We should go too.”
n“The man… is…”
n“Yeah, we know him.” He acknowledged it, “But that’s weird. He’s already at the Central Shrine?”
nCurious, he added, “The road there is complicated.”
n“Digest.” Dohyuk mumbled.
n<
n<
n<
nThird. He had used the last item, and his half-destroyed face was restored. That’s when he was able to see. He was now inside a big tunnel within a certain building. He realized that as he followed the glass bottle deeper and deeper into the city, the road was becoming more complicated.
n-It’s more complicated as you get to the center.
nThe tower that soared high was now really close, proving that he was, in fact, close to the center. Dohyuk took a few more steps and picked up the bottle. Nothing popped up. It became a regular item as soon as it rolled into this tunnel.
nEverything was quiet.
nHe had just fought with countless Bermurans as if they were summoned by the glass bottle. But within this tunnel, he sensed no one. It was as if this place were forbidden to walk into.
n“…”
nDohyuk felt cold. Something at the end was releasing a terrifying amount of energy. The tunnel wasn’t long. There were other openings other than the one that Dohyuk walked in though, and at the center, there was an object.
n“…It’s like a nail,” Dohyuk mumbled. It was like a f nail that was cut out and enlarged, then wrapped around on one side to hold. Dohyuk approached it. But he wouldn’t know just by looking.
n<
nIt was the piece that formed the legend of Dohyuk’s dragon slaying.
n
