nVillain Ch 28. (Un)peaceful Hill

nThey froze, their instincts telling them that something was very wrong.

nWithout a word, they turned and ran back the way they had come, the sounds of footsteps pounding in their ears. As they drew closer to the source of the commotion, they could hear the unmistakable sound of metal on metal, the clanging of blades against each other.

nAnd then they saw him: a lone player, his back against a tree, fending off a large butterfly-like monster with a pair of gleaming daggers. The monster was unlike anything Mac had ever seen before, its wings shimmering in the sunlight as it swooped down to attack the player.

nThe man was screaming for help, his eyes wild with fear as he tried to keep the monster at bay. But it was clear that he was outmatched. The butterfly monster was too strong, too fast.

nMac and Yora exchanged a glance, silently agreeing to help the man. They drew their weapons and charged forward, their footsteps pounding against the forest floor.

nThe monster turned to face them, its wings flapping furiously as it prepared to attack.

nAs Mac and Yora approached, the butterfly monster turned to face them, revealing its full form. The creature was truly a sight to behold: with wings as large as a car, it was a stunning mix of vibrant colors – blues, purples, and greens all blending together seamlessly.

nBut the beauty of the creature was marred by the sight of dead players strewn about its feet. It was clear that this butterfly monster was no ordinary creature. It was larger, more powerful, and had a much higher level than any monster they had encountered before.

nMad Butterfly

nMac swallowed hard as he took in the sight before him. He knew they had to be careful. This monster was aggressive and showed no signs of backing down.

nThe butterfly monster flapped its wings again, its razor-sharp wings glinting in the sunlight. Mac could see the muscles in its legs tensing, ready to lunge forward and attack.

nYora was the first to act. She quickly raised her staff, chanting an incantation under her breath. “Agility!” With a quick flick of her wrist, Yora activated her Agility skill, targeting Mac with a glowing aura.

nMac felt a surge of energy rush through his body, as his AGI status and movement were boosted. He could feel his muscles twitching with anticipation. His movement was faster than before.

nHe raised his sword, his hands shaking with adrenaline as he charged toward the monster.

nThe monster reacted quickly, its wings flapping to create a gust of wind that knocked Mac off his feet. He struggled to regain his balance as the monster swooped in for the kill.

nMac swung his sword, but the monster was too quick. It dodged his attack effortlessly, its wings flapping to keep it just out of his reach.

nMac gritted his teeth, determined not to give up. He had to find a way to get past the monster’s defenses.

nHe noticed a pattern in the monster’s movements, a split-second delay before it would change direction. Mac took advantage of this, feinting to one side before quickly changing direction and launching an attack.

nHis sword connected with the monster’s wing, slicing through the delicate membrane. The monster screeched in pain, but it wasn’t defeated yet.

nIn the midst of the intense battle between Mac and the monster, Yora’s eyes darted toward the wounded dual daggers player, and from the looks of it, he had barely escaped the clutches of the deadly butterfly monster.

nYora didn’t hesitate to use her skill. “Heal.”

nThe man’s name was Gilbert. His hair was striking green and his eyes were brown. He had a deep gash on his leg, and Yora’s Heal skill glowed with a soft light as she worked to close the wound. He looked at Yora with gratitude in his eyes as she worked her magic and let out a sigh of relief as his health bar filled up.

n“Go help him!” shouted Yora once his wound healed. The monster was almost 10 levels apart from Mac, she knew he couldn’t handle it alone.

nUpon her order, he looked over at Mac, determination in his eyes.

n“Roger that,” Gilbert said, unsheathing his dual daggers and charging toward the butterfly monster.

nThe monster continued to dart around Mac, its movements almost too quick for the human eye to follow. Mac gritted his teeth and focused, determined to find a way to take down the creature.

nHe tried to anticipate its movements, swinging his sword in a wide arc in the hopes of catching the butterfly off guard. But the creature was too quick, always staying just out of range of his blade. Mac felt a sense of frustration welling up inside him, but he forced himself to stay focused. He couldn’t let himself get distracted.

nJust when it seemed like all hope was lost, Gilbert struck. He lunged towards the butterfly, his daggers glinting in the sunlight. The creature tried to evade his blows, but Gilbert was too quick. He struck the butterfly with a swift, precise blow, causing it to stagger backward. Mac saw his chance and lunged forward, swinging his sword with all his might.

nThey fought the Mad Butterfly with all their might, desperation fueling their every move. The monster’s fluid movements made it hard to hit, but they were not giving up.

nDespite their efforts, the battle was taking its toll on both of them. Mac’s health bar was dangerously low, and he could feel his energy waning. Gilbert was also struggling, his movements sluggish from his new injuries.

nBut they knew they couldn’t give up. They gritted their teeth and pushed themselves to their limits.

nFinally, after what seemed like 10 minutes battle, they emerged victorious. The Mad Butterfly fell to the ground, defeated. Mac and Gilbert breathed heavily, their wounds bleeding and their bodies weak.

n“We did it,” Mac said, his voice hoarse from the strain of the battle. He looked over at Gilbert, his breath coming in ragged gasps. 𝐞𝗻𝐨𝘃𝗹.𝐜𝐨𝗺

n“Yeah, we did,” Gilbert said, his voice equally strained.

nYora quickly knelt down beside them, her hands glowing with healing light. “Heal!”

nGilbert turned to face Mac and said, “Thank you for saving me back there. I owe you guys big time.”

nMac smiled and waved his hand dismissively, “No problem at all.”

nYora finished healing them both, and they stood up. Mac turned to Gilbert and said, “Hey, if you’re hunting alone, do you want to join us? It’s too crowded here so we’re planning to go to another place. It is filled with higher-level monsters. We could use one more DPS in our group, and I know you’re a good fighter.”

nGilbert’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Are you serious? I’d love to join you guys.”

nMac nodded, “Great! Let’s get going then. It’s going to be tough, but I’m sure we can handle it with the three of us.”

nThey started walking towards the exit portal while talking about their strategies and skills.
