Chapter 53 Gift And Found Out

nAfter all these were finished, I had a light snack before meeting up with the leader from the previous raid.
nHe was waiting for me towards the front of a restaurant, but I also noticed an unwelcomed face that I couldn’t but grimace at.
n“Why the hell are you here?” I asked Arthur, who was gripping his longsword so hard I could see cracks in it.
n“Boy, do you know how much trouble you’ve put me through? One of my raid members supposedly lost their adventurers license, and telling that to the guild is just certain death,”
n“Well, that must suck for the person who lost it,” I smirked at him before the leader took out a small, simple metal ring and tapped it once.
nAn entire set of light armor and a spear that fit me to the tee appeared right on the sidewalk.
n“Thank you very much, Leader,” I said, and he just gave me a nod with a warm smile.
nNow, this is a father figure… Why couldn’t I have him instead of Arthur as my parental guardian?
n“Please just call me Dean. I am no longer an adventurer anymore, plus I’ve been planning on leaving this city with my wife and kids soon,”
n“Really? Well, I wish you good luck in the future,” I replied before greedily gathering all the precious equipment into my arms.
n“Hold on. You still owe me in the future,”
n“Sure, sure,”
nBut just as I was on my way out, I heard somebody call out from behind me.
n“Wait, boy, don’t leave just yet,”
n“Tch… What do you want? I just came here to collect a gift, and you’re ruining the mood,”
n“Give me the license,” Arthur orders, putting out his hand, which I glance at… and then make a mad break for it.
n“HUFF HUFF HUFF HUFF… You won’t ever catch me!” I shouted, but only a few seconds into my wild sprint, he caught me.
n“Give it,”
n“Never,”
n“You little… Mm…. Damn, I wish I could punch you in the face right now,” He muttered, and I just gave him a smug smile.
n“I’ll give it back to you after one more dungeon. It should be quick anyway,” I said, and he heaved a heavy sigh before taking his grip off my shoulder.
nDamn, that hurts…
n“Geez… One more raid, but you’re coming with my raid team, okay?”
n“No, I already have a raid team that I registered for. We’re departing in like an hour, and I haven’t even bought some of the magic equipment, so please excuse me,” I said before quickly dashing off.
nArthur went to go chase me but decided last second to just let me go and rekindle the conversation between him and Dean.
n…
n“Alright, that should be good,” I muttered before fixing the ring to my middle finger and glancing up at my status.

nThe dungeon I was about to enter with a raid team of about twenty people was a bit stronger than the Toxic Slime Dungeon, but you have to remember that my previous encounter was a once in a while thing.
nIt was something that wasn’t supposed to happen and wasn’t the original power of the dungeon, which was originally pretty weak.
nI’d say it was a high C-rank during the metamorphosis…
nOh yeah, I also checked if this dungeon called the: Lightning Slime Dungeon was going through a metamorphosis, and thankfully, it wasn’t… thankfully… again.
nAbsolutely heaven sent.
nBut, what wasn’t heaven sent was this side quest that I recently received.
n.
nSide Quest: Complete the Lightning Slime Dungeon
nDescription: The gods crave more of your entertainment, so make sure to be as flashy as possible in this dungeon… well, if you want
nReward: Drop of Pure Magic
nPenalty Upon Failure: Death
nTime Left: Infinite
n.
nThe reward was a complete enigma to me, but at least there was no time limit, and the penalty upon failure was pretty obvious… as if I failed, obviously I ended up dying to the slimes.
nIt also recommended being as flashy as possible, but to be honest, I don’t feel like doing that and would rather give the spotlight to the leader.
nHe was a tall, humble man who was pretty muscular and held a large longsword as his weapon of choice.
nI saw no problem in him being our leader as the adventurers around us were pretty timid, but he should be able to rally everybody together with his leadership.
n“*sigh*… Okay, let’s review,” I muttered before laying back on the prickly grass and closing my eyes.
nThis dungeon specializes in paralysis, and just getting shocked by one of the slimes small sparks are enough to completely seize all the muscles in your body.
nThere is no metamorphosis, and the dungeon’s boss room is right at the entrance as it tries to lure you in by presenting a large golden and shiny gem within the middle of the dungeon.
nThe layout is pretty basic, and maneuvering through it won’t be a problem… until the boss.
nWhen reading all the books based on dungeons, I’ve noticed that the slime ones are extremely easy with a raid team until you get to the boss.
nAnd this boss… completely absorbs all magic attacks, which is why we have no mages with us right now.
nThe toxic skeleton slime boss thing absorbed some magic, but large enough magic attacks were able to dwindle down its HP, but this one, it couldn’t.
nPlus, there is also its unique skill where if you look into its eyes, your entire body becomes paralyzed for at least two minutes which is more than enough time for the boss to kill you…
n“Hmmm… Okay, this is going to be tricky,” I muttered as tanks are practically useless in the boss battle for one glaring reason… the boss’s strength.
n
