Chapter 10 - A Night Visit at the Fifth Prince Mansion with
n
n
nBai Aoxue headed for the Fifth Prince Mansion without delay.
nShe was curious about the so-called ugly prince.
nIf he was truly mediocre, immoral, ugly and incompetent as people said, she would find a pretext to get rid of him.
n
n
nBut if it was all a disguise, she should make a long-term plan. What an ambitious schemer could cheat the world and live to this point under disguise?
nIt was a reality check tonight.
nShe hid in a dark corner of the street, observing the surroundings outside the mansion.
nThe mansion was quiet without even a janitor at the doorstep. Bai Aoxue couldn’t imagine when it would be when she married the prince.
n
n
nAfter confirming there was nobody in the vicinity, she jumped suddenly from the back wall into the backyard and quickly disappeared.
nEntering the courtyard, she discovered that the mansion had a strange layout. Although looking broken from the outside, it was simple and elegant inside.
nJacaranda flowers bloomed everywhere in the backyard, the pale purple color embodying elegance and dignity.
nThe flowers had no strict requirement for soil, but they liked soft and warm sunlight. She could figure out that the man who raised them also pined for warmth.
n
n
nShe had the same frame of mind before, too.
nBefore leaving, she heard a sound of footsteps from far to near. After looking the direction, she jumped on a tall jacaranda tree, and hid in a shadow.
nA man and a woman came. She could figure out they were servants in the mansion from their clothes. She strained her ears to hear their conversation.
n“Hehua, what food you take today?” the male servant said to the girl.
nThey found a vacant place to sit down.
nThe girl called Hehua, assuming a sweet expression, said: “Xiaoliuzi, don’t be so anxious. I bring you some good things today. I heard from the kitchen supervisor that the prince is delighted today, so he granted them to us. I have never heard that the prince was in a good mood before. Don’t you think it’s rare?”
n
n
nThe got unhappy with the girl’s praise of the prince. He raised the head and said: “He is a good-for-nothing. Perhaps, after some time he will have no chance even to be a good-for-nothing.”
nBai Aoxue was shocked in her heart upon hearing what they said, feeling concerned about the safety of the prince.
nHe was just a useless prince, but there was still someone who was not willing to let go of him.
nThen She jumped down the tree secretly and moved deeper into the backyard.
nShe was more surprised when discovering that the mansion was studded with hidden automatic triggers everywhere. She dodged several guardsmen easily.
n“It’s time to change the guard. You may go to the supper. I’ll keep watch. His Highness is in the bamboo yard. He wants to be alone.” A middle-aged man with whiskers said loudly while patting the shoulder of a thin young man.
nThe young man rose to his feet instantly: “Someone intruded? Protect His Highness! Protect His Highness!!”
n“Young man. You are being lazy at your post!” The adult man said while suppressing the urge to laugh.
n
n
nThe young man recovered himself after hearing it. He said: “Uncle Yan, please don’t tell His Highness. I only have a nap for a very short time today.”
n“It doesn’t matter. Just go. It’s no wonder that you are tired out. There are more assassins in the several days.” Uncle Yan sighed while patting the young man on his shoulder.
nPerhaps the young man was extremely tired. He just staggered outwards.
nBai Aoxue hid in the darkness and became more sympathetic with Jun Yeyan secretly, heading for the Bamboo Yard without letup.
nOn her way to the bamboo yard, she was more and more confident that the prince wasn’t a useless man.
nSeeing from the layout and arrangement of traps inside the mansion, he couldn’t be a good-for-nothing.
nHis disguise tricks were really venerable. He was obviously an undiscovered fox.
nShe had no mood to enjoy the scenery and she just had a strong urge to see her fiancé – the useless, ugly and unfortunate prince as people said.
nIt would be better if he had any use value to her, or otherwise she had to hatch up another plan.
nThinking on her way and dodging several sentinels without being discovered, she came to the bamboo yard of Jun Yeyan.
nA verdant greenery greeted her eyes, and the air was amazingly fresh.
nBut she didn’t see the man she wanted to see.
nShe slowly moved along a winding path, walking to the bamboo yard.
n
n
nAfter a while, she saw a white mist slowly rising before. The sound of flowing water stopped her footsteps.
nThere was a man having a bath if she guessed right.
nShe was not a voyeur. If it were Jun Yeyan, her fame would be ruined.
nThinking it, she gave up the idea of seeing him.
nShe slowly turned back and prepared to retreat along the familiar path.
nA hoarse, but strangely sexy voice arose behind her.
n“Why you leave since you’ve come here? Why not sit for a while here?” The solemn and intoxicating voice arose behind her.
nBut she knew that the more beautiful a thing was, the more mortal the risk was.
nShe quickly retreated several steps when hearing the voice and said: “Hump. You already know the guest will come, but why you treat your guest without hospitality as a host?”
n“Oh? Aren’t you the hostess? My wild cat…” A sarcastic voice arose behind again.
nShe guessed that it was exactly Jun Yeyan.
nRaising her eyebrow unexpectedly, she slowly turned back and gazed at the man.
n
