Chapter 39 - : A Grisly Secret

nChapter 39: A Grisly Secret

nWenxi went quietly according to the place where Bai Aoxue said.

nSu Qianqian, who was here in the ancestral hall, was getting angry.

n

n

n“What are you doing here? Don’t you remember who let you live good lives like this! A group of bitches!!” Su Qianqian hysterically shouted at that closed wooden door!

nThe servants outside the door completely ignored the screaming of Su Qianqian.

n“Should we allow her to scream like this? After all, she is the most beloved woman of my lord.” A timid attendant asked another who stood next to him with a little worry.

nAfter listening to the words of that timid attendant, another attendant said: “Which do you think that is scarier, my lord or the one inside?”

n

n

n“It’s definitely my lord!” The timid attendant said without thinking.

nThe attendant listened, then dismissively glanced at the timid attendant and said: “That’s it. Since my lord is scarier, then you don’t try to defy what he said!”

nThat attendant also found his words reasonable. Compared with Su Qianqian, Bai Qiwei was still more powerful. As servants, they had better not to challenge the authority of their Miss.

nAfter listening to Su Qianqian’s screaming in the darkness, Wenxi even more disdain this woman who replaced Bai Aoxue’s mother.

n

n

nBefore they came here, people in imperial palace had told them some experiences of Bai Aoxue.

nBai Aoxue was humiliated in Prime Minister’s mansion. And all of these were caused by Su Qianqian, a woman who was cunning and poisonous.

nShe was treated very well by Bai Aoxue’s mother during her lifetime, but she bit the hand that fed her and became so ungrateful. Such a woman deserved to be reviled by people. It was no wonder that Bai Aoxue now hated everything in Prime Minister’s mansion.

nThinking of this, Wenxi cannot help but sympathize with Bai Aoxue. Although they didn’t have the status and honor of Bai Aoxue, they didn’t encounter such experiences.

nShe should be the first daughter who enjoyed endless love, but now she was even more embarrassed than a servant.

n

n

nWhen Wenxi was still thinking, Steward Bai had already come to the hall with a basket.

n“Steward Bai, why do you come here?” The attendant saw Steward Bai and asked him flatteringly.

nSteward Bai was also an authoritative person in Prime Minister’s mansion. He has been following Bai Qiwei since his adulthood and has been valued and trusted by Bai Qiwei.

n“Cough, I receive orders from my lord to send things to my lady.” Steward Bai looked at the attendants.

nThe attendant did not suspect Steward Bai after listening to his words.

n“Oh, I see. Steward Bai, do you need me to send them for you or do you send them in by yourself? My lady is angry at the present.” The attendant looked at Steward Bai obsequiously.

nSteward Bai immediately knew why Su Qianqian got angry once he heard that.

nBai Qiwei issued an order which prohibited all contacts between Su Qianqian and the outside world. Even meals were delivered by the attendants he chose. How could Su Qianqian not feel angry? As bad-tempered as she, it would be strange if she didn’t raise the hell.

n

n

n“That’s ok. I will go talk to my lady for a few words. You are also in a bind if she keeps going on.” Steward Bai said graciously.

nAfter listening to the words of Steward Bai, these two attendants indeed looked at Steward Bai with grateful expressions: “Thank you Steward Bai. We don’t want set lady in trouble, and hope that my lady can understand our difficulties.”

nHow could Steward Bai not understand the meaning behind the words of the attendant? He looked at them understandingly: “Don’t worry. I will talk to my lady. After all, we are all servants, and naturally we dare not to defy Miss.”

n“Steward Bai, you are right. Please go in.” The attendant continuously nodded.

nSteward Bai no longer lingered. Carrying a bamboo basket, he then entered the ancestral hall through the door opened by the attendant.

nWenxi hid on the roof and gently uncovered a brick.

nShe looked at every move inside.

nWhen Su Qianqian heard the sound outside, she thought that it was someone who brought her meal. She yelled in a bad mood: “Don’t need to send it in. I won’t eat it! Do you really think that I came here to practice abstinence from meat and say prayers? What do you give me every day?”

nSu Qianqian paused slightly. She even became angrier since she didn’t heard responding: “Go away! I will see whether Prime Minister would take care of my life if I starve to death at here!”

nSu Qianqian, who stood back to the entrance, did not see Steward Bai who paused a second when he came in.

nShe continued murmuring: “You lowlifes wait and see! I will let Prime Minister kill you all when I leave here. No one can survive!”

n“My lady, it’s me.” Steward Bai stood on the ground one meter away from Su Qianqian.

n

n

nSu Qianqian felt a quiver of scare run through her when she found that someone was behind her. When she was just about to curse, she heard a voice which she couldn’t be more familiar with.

nSu Qianqian hurriedly turned to look at the people in front of her.

nSu Qianqian could not see Steward Bai’s expression since he stood in the shadow. But Su Qianqian didn’t care now. The only thing she cared about now was that whether her status in Prime Minister’s mansion has been threatened and shaken!

n“Bai Lei? Bai Lei, you’re here? Hurry! You tell my lord that I am sick! It’s very serious and I can’t stay in the ancestral hall anymore!” Su Qianqian hurriedly stood up from the ground.

nShe rushed to Steward Bai, hanging on to his sleeves with both hands.

nAs if Steward Bai would disappear as soon as she let go.

nLooking at the scene in front of her, Wenxi only felt that no one in Prime Minister’s mansion was simple. Everyone hid secrets.

nNo longer had thinking about it, Wenxi continued to observe every move in the hall.

nSteward Bai looked at Su Qianqian, who was embarrassed, with calm as if he wasn’t looking at his Miss.

nSu Qianqian was shocked by the expression of Steward Bai. Those hands which held the sleeves slowly loosened.

n“Bai Lei! Why do you look at me like that! Can’t you hear me? Go to find my lord! Do you want me to stay here forever?!” Su Qianqian calmed down her emotion and shouted loudly. She wanted to call back Steward Bai.

nShe only thought that Bai Lei was very different today. If it were the in past, Bai Lei would only be groveling in face of her. He certainly dared not to show that expression to her.

nUnfortunately, this time, Su Qianqian’s loud screaming still failed. Steward Bai looked at Su Qianqian without changing his expression at all.

nJust as Su Qianqian thought that Steward Bai would not speak, he stretched out his hands and pushed Su Qianqian really hard.

nDefenseless as Su Qianqian was pushed to the ground by Steward Bai.

nThis thing was too unpredictable. Not until she felt the tingling of the palm when she fell to the ground did Su Qianqian know that this was not a dream.

nSu Qianqian felt that everything that happened in the past few days was a dream.

nIf Bai Aoxue’s revenge was unpredictable, then the abandonment of Bai Qiwei was something beyond Su Qianqian’s expectations.

nShe did not think that this was the result of her glorious life.

nShe thought that entering the ancestral hall was just a façade, but Bai Qiwei’s order let her know that Bai Qiwei was really angry this time.

nAnd she didn’t know if she still had a chance to comeback. The whole thing made her have the illusion that she would lose everything.

n“Bai Lei! What are you doing?” The tingling of the palm also caused Su Qianqian to get back to herself completely. Looking at her palm of which oozed blood because of the stone, Su Qianqian looked at Steward Bai and said with resentment.

nLooking at Su Qianqian’s anger, shock, and incredulous eyes, Steward Bai felt a sharp pain in heart.

nIf he could, he didn’t want this either. During many years in Prime Minister’s mansion, apart from Bai Qiwei, he would only be so humble in front of Su Qianqian.

nHe has been her keeper for so many years, but now he received nothing.

n“Su Qianqian, why do you ask me? I want to ask you what you think of me for so many years.” Steward Bai looked at Su Qianqian and asked slowly.

nAfter a pause, Steward Bai went on to say: “A servant who is always at your service? Or your paramour who was in cahoots with you?!” The resentment in his voice completely awakened Su Qianqian who had been stunned.

nWenxi, who was on the eaves, was shocked by the words of Steward Bai.

nShe did not expect that there was such a shameless affair between the concubine and the housekeeper in such a well-known family in Chengxi Dynasty like Prime Minister’s mansion!

nWhen Su Qianqian listened to the words of Steward Bai, she could not care for the pain of her palm. Instead, she hurriedly climbed up from the ground to cover Steward Bai’s mouth.

nWith a pair of rounded eyes, Su Qianqian covered the mouth of Steward Bai and said fiercely: “Bai Lei, what are you taking about! You could eat disorderly, but you can’t talk disorderly! Are you trying to kill me!?”

nAfter listening to Su Qianqian’s words, Steward Bai stretched out his hand to move Su Qianqian’s from his face finger by finger.

n“Su Qianqian, I should have known that you are like this. I should have known it… hahaha…” Steward Bai smiled wildly.

nSu Qianqian was indeed frightened by Steward Bai’s unusual behavior today.

n“Bai Lei! What do you want to say! Don’t pretend to be mad in front of me!!” Su Qianqian couldn’t stand Bai Lei’s wild laughter and screamed with hands cupping her ears.

n“It is a waste that I have been devoted to you with all my heart for so many years, since you just think about how to get favor and promotion. In these years, even though the number didn’t amount to a hundred, at least dozens of people were killed by you and me in the mansion. Don’t you hear them weep when you sleep at night!?” Bai Lei looked at those memorial tablets in ancestral hall.

nSu Qianqian listened to Bai Lei’s words, her body quivered: “Don’t deliberately mystify! I do these for Suxue and for survival! Am I wrong?!”

nBai Lei’s expression became more and more indifferent when he heard that Su Qianqian mentioned Bai Suxue.

n“Suxue? Suxue becomes the way she is all thanks to you! You let Suxue follow your old pace because of your cruel and your vanity!!”

nSu Qianqian was no longer angry after listening to Bai Lei’s words. She just looked at Bai Lei indifferently: “Following my old pace? Is this all my fault? Do you want to pass the buck under this circumstance?”

nSu Qianqian looked at Bai Lei and continued: “Now none of us could regret! Suxue is still the daughter of me and my lord. She will become the concubine of His Majesty and the noblest woman in the world. Of course, it all requires your eternal silent!”

nWenxi only felt an unprecedented shock since such a secret was too thrilling.

nWhat Bai Aoxue needed most currently was news like this. Since His Majesty let her help Bai Aoxue, then she wouldn’t conceal this thing. Thinking of this, Wenxi did not continue to listen.

nQuietly leaving the roof, Wenxi galloped toward the small courtyard of Bai Aoxue.

nBai Lei and Su Qianqian who were in ancestral hall did not know that the secret they had hidden for more than ten years were exposed because of a momentary dispute.

n
