nThe lack of proper seats was a “feature” of the principal’s office.
nAssistant John looked at the stack of books and gestured to Joey. “Please take a seat!”
nJoey frowned and ignored him.
nIn response, Clement immediately opened a folding chair and placed it behind Joey.
nAfter taking a seat, Joey lookeda at Hobrick, who was sitting behind his desk, and laughed. “Hahaha… Hello, Mr. Principal, we’ve finally met. It seems that the academy is thriving under your management…”
nHobrick responded with a smile, “Yes, it seems that the Frank family is also very powerful now!”
nAfter exchanging some pleasantries, Hobrick immediately went straight to the point. He raised his eyebrows and asked, “Then… May I know the reason for your visit?”
nClement immediately took out his checkbook and handed it to his master. Joey took out a golden pen and filled a number on it. Then, he ordered Clement to place it on the principal’s desk.
n“Oh… What a generous offer, 80 billion…” Hobrick picked up the check.
n“I can tell that you’re a straightforward person, so I’ll be frank! I also intend to invest in the Federal Academy. This money is just the tip of the iceberg! I’ll double this amount in the future!”
nJoey had investigated Hobrick’s personality prior to his visit. Through his investigation, he deduced that Hobrick loved money very much.
nMoreover, since he had offered a price that was higher than Adelaide’s, Joey was confident that the principal will take his side.
nAlthough Alice’s condition was to destroy the Federal Academy, Joey decided that buying the hearts of its people was still the best way forward.
nAs long as he had bought the loyalty of the academy’s personnel, controlling the Federal Academy would be a cinch for him.
nBy doing so, not only would he achieve his goal, he would also be laying the groundwork to make his ascension to king easier.
nWhile observing Hobrick’s delighted expression, Joey once again emphasized, “Mr. Principal, if this amount is still too low for you, I’m willing to add another 10 billion to sweeten the deal.”
nJoey then gestured Clement to ready the checkbook.
nHowever, Hobrick suddenly spoke, “It’s a pity, Mr. Joey. We have already signed an exclusive investment agreement with Mr. Adelaide. We cannot accept any other investors. Please forgive us…”
nThis greatly displeased Joey. To him, there was nothing in the Holy City which his money could not buy.
nHe stood up and placed his hands on the principal’s desk. He looked down at Hobrick and said, “I can increase the amount to whatever figure you can think of! I’ll even cover the penalty for breach of contract!”
n“Moreover, the Federal Academy has always operated under the investments of several investors. Do you realize that your actions are akin to insulting the Frank family?”
n“Hehehe…” Hobrick raised his wrinkled eyelids and looked at Joey, saying, “You seem to misunderstand something about the Federal Academy, Mr. Joey. John!”
nAt this moment, the teaching assistant, John, stepped forward and said, “The Federal Academy has only one rule, and that is the principal himself!”
n“Sir, I’m honestly not looking down on the Frank family, but you are a tad bit late. Although I can bend the academy’s rules to whatever I please, I have always abided by the business decisions that I’ve made. How about this then, once my contract with Adelaide ends, ten years into the future, I’ll discuss with Adelaide on whether you could be an investor as well…”
nHobrick’s words were already very polite. He wanted to make the other party back down. However, Joey was still mad. He slammed the table again, “You dare compare my family to the likes of the Estelles?! You want to subject me to HIS mercy? Mr. Principal, had it not been for your position, I would have already tossed your corpse to the vultures!”
nAlice saw her chance and she interjected, “This old man is looking down on the Viscount status of the Frank family! No one can stop him from bending the rules. Previously, my father has argued with him countless times due to his sudden change of rules…”
nHer words had struck Joey at all the right spots. Joey had always been sensitive of his family’s title, and as a result, he contorted his face in anger even further.
n“Alice, why did you become like this? Isn’t the tragedy that befell on your father and brothers enough to remind you to keep a low profile?” Hobrick had honestly assumed that Alice had turned over a new leaf, and as such, her worsening of the situation had came as a surprise to him.
n“See, dear? This method is not feasible. We have to change the way we approach this…” Alice said with her head held high.
n“Dear? Are you two in a relationship?” John who was standing at the side asked.
nAlice immediately responded at those words. While hugging Joey’s arm, she stated, “I’m engaged to Brother Joey! Once we marry, I’ll pass my title of Count to him. Haha, just you wait, once my dear becomes king, you’ll suffer a fate worse than death!”
nNone of the academy’s staff present had expected things to develop to this stage. It was clear that Alice was hungry for revenge.
n“Your heart has already been taken over by the devil…” Hobrick glared at the arrogant Alice and said in a low voice.
n“Old Man! I’ll ask you one last time. Are you going to accept my investment or not?” Joey had a threatening tone to his voice.
nHowever, Hobrick’s temper was not to be trifled with. He tore up the check and shouted, “Send the guest out!”
n“Old Man, we’ll meet again soon!” Joey grabbed Alice and went downstairs while laughing haughtily.
nJoey looked back at the lighthouse. He was still mad at the old man.
nClement could tell what his master was thinking. He whispered in a hushed tone, “Master, you can head back first. I’ll be right there…”
nAfter patting his loyal servant on the shoulder with a smile, Joey left the scene.
nOnce his master was gone, Clement then drew the two daggers on his back and threw them at the outer wall of the principal’s office!
n“Boom!”
nHis weapon had created a large hole in the outer wall!
n“Which b*stard is responsible for this! Do you want to demolish the house!” Hobrick’s angry roar came from the bathroom.
n“What are you trying to pull?” The three directors had already left, and it was up to John to defend the lighthouse.
n“Disrespecting my master should have been a capital offense. This is just a small warning to all of you…” Clement put away his two knives and he was about to leave, when suddenly…
nBang! Bang!
nJohn did not intend to let the mad dog go. He fired a constant barrage of shots.
nHowever, before the bullets touched Clement, they were blocked by the dual blades that he unsheathed again!
n“He’s fast…” John exclaimed at the speed of the opponent’s blade.
n“You… Want to play?” Clement grinned.
nNaturally, John did not give in to the provocation. Instead, he continued to fire shots at Clement!
nHowever, every bullet was blocked by Clement with precision.
n“This guy… He might be a silver-tier Beastmaster!” John exclaimed.
n
