Chapter 146 - The Divine Class’ Duties

nLocke did not expect such a place to exist underground.

n“Principal, is this really the Divine Class?”

nThe two of them followed the spiraling stairs and went further down.

n“You can think of it this way…”

nAlthough the location was very dark, Locke felt no fear, as he soon heard footsteps and people talking.

n“Principal, you’re here?”

nThey had gone five floors underground, which was most likely the lowest floor.

n“Welcome, Locke!” John held a stack of books and said to Locke with a smile.

nCompared to the darkness above, the fifth floor was much brighter.

nThere were five young men in white cloaks standing behind John. They were probably the students of the Divine Class.

n“You’re Locke, the one who defeated the two great families?”

n“Three divine beasts, huh? Could’ve fooled me at first glance…”

n“Finally, a new face!”

n“What Beastmaster level are you at?”

n“I can finally relax a bit more in the future…”

nThese students greeted Locke in their own way.

nLocke noticed the lack of desks and blackboards in the area. The location did not resemble a classroom at all.

nInstead, there were sofas, televisions, bars, and other hotel-like facilities in the fifth floor.

nIt looked more like a high-end hotel, and it looked very comfortable.

n“Principal, what exactly is this place?” Locke was a little puzzled.

n“Hahaha, take a seat first. You need to un-learn some things… Hobrick gestured everyone to sit on the sofa, and ordered John to bring over some coffee.

nThen, John looked at the other five students. “Alright, the welcoming party is over. You still have your duties to attend to, follow me…”

nWith John and the other students now gone, Hobrick was left alone with Locke.

nAfter drinking a few mouthfuls of coffee, Hobrick then extended three fingers and began to explain:

n“Students of the Divine Class have three duties to fulfill…”

n“Over the years, I have traveled to every possible location that man can reach… I have recorded many anecdotes. I have encountered great dangers, comfort, confusion, and wealth in these places…”

n“Regardless, they are all important pieces that make up this wonderful world. So, a few years ago, I began to select students with outstanding characters and abilities to enter the Divine Class, so that they can inherit all the knowledge I’ve gained during my travels…”

nLocke understood the old man’s words. The first duty of the Divine Class students was to inherit the old man’s knowledge.

nAlthough he had a heaven-defying System, as he was still young, his understanding of the world was only a drop in the ocean.

nTo be able to come into contact with this knowledge first was undoubtedly lucky.

nFollowing this, Hobrick then took out the wooden box containing the Five-colored Dragon Core and slowly said, “The Saint class’ second duty is a bit more special…”

n“What? We need to summon a dragon?”

nLocke had learned about the dragon summoning due to his contact with the Military Academy. As such, his assumption was to be expected.

nUnexpectedly, however, Hobrick shook his head slightly. Just as he was about to speak, the sound of hurried footsteps approached them.

n“Principal! It’s starting again!” John’s expression was very panicked, as if he had discovered some disaster.

nHobrick did not panic and instead, he handed the Dragon Core to Locke. “Follow me…”

nThe three of them passed through a spacious and bright underground corridor. The moment they entered a large room, Locke immediately heard the sounds of wild beasts coming from its depths!

n“Roar… Roar!!”

nThe slight tremors of the ground that followed each roar told Locke that the beast was not to be underestimated.

nLocke’s mind raced to figure out what the creature was, but it was to no avail.

n“Principal! You’re finally here? This guy is mad again! We can’t hold it back anymore…” One of the students shouted.

nLocke looked at the large cage that was created with mana…

nA four-legged creature with two wings on its back roared at the three people who just came in!

n“Roar… !”

nThe creature had yellow scales, sharp claws, and sharp teeth. Its eyes were full of killing intent!

nHowever, it was only the size of an adult.

nLocke was certain. It was a dragon!

nIt was a dragon with yellow wings!

n‘To think that a legendary creature actually exists under our academy!’

nIt was a pleasant surprise to Locke.

nJohn explained, “The principal found it many years ago in a mysterious place. This guy used to be an egg back then…”

n“Don’t you find it strange? Even after it hatched, it did not become the principal’s Battle Beast. It was docile at first, but after a few days, it suddenly turned violent. It would bite any Battle Beast it saw, and as time goes by, it would directly devour it!”

n“The principal had no choice but to place it here, but this creature is very restless, and its always trying to get out…”

nThe dragon seemed to understand John’s words, and it became even more irritable!

nAfter accumulating power in its mouth for two seconds, it spewed flames at the cage!

n“Crack… !”

nA corner of the cage shattered. Upon noticing this, the five students gathered their mana and immediately sealed the hole.

nThe same thing occurred two or three times repeatedly.

nAlthough the dragon was only the size of an adult, it was extremely strong. It constantly charged and slammed its head onto the cage.

nBang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

n“Old man, please don’t tell me that the second duty of the Saint Class is to watch over this beast?” If that were the case, Locke would rather kill it than to keep watch over it.

n“I don’t want you guys to stay here either… But the dragon is really dangerous. Once it gets out, the entire Holy City will suffer! No one will survive! Moreover, restraining it with your mana is also a form of training! Kid! This kind of cultivation can not be bought with any amount of money! Aren’t you happy?” Hobrick looked at Locke as if he were waiting for a reply.

n‘Of course not!’

n‘I have a heaven-defying system!’

n‘Other than developing my mana, what else do I even need to train?’

nLocke did not say those words aloud. Instead, he asked, “Then how are you going to end this situation? It’s not a solution to keep looking over it like this!”

n‘Why hasn’t Hobrick tried to tame the dragon?’

nNaturally, there was a reason for this. Dragons were proud creatures, and as such, they had no intention of following puny humans!

n“Thus… The third duty of the students of the Divine Class is to tame it and make it into an obedient Battle Beast. Once one of you tames it, the Divine Class will be free…”

nHobrick sighed and looked at the students who were maintaining the mana cage with a guilty expression.

n
