Chapter 78 - Should She Quit?
n

nWith the post-production on the show over, Song Xing Xing was able to take a few days off.
nAfter her last conversation with Lu Xun, Song Xing Xing had returned home and cried her heart out. Her eyes were a little swollen and she was too embarrassed to meet people outside.
nMoreover, she was not in the mood to see Lu Xun. She was working with his studio and was worried that she might run into him. Song Xing Xing was afraid that Lu Xun would give her hope again and hurt her again.
nSong Xing Xing rolled on her bed and stared at Mr. Fluffball who was at her side. She was about to stretch her hand and touch him when the cat suddenly stood up and moved away.
n
"Mr. Fluffball, last night you were staying by my side to comfort me. Why are you being unfriendly towards me again?
"
nLast night, when she cried, Mr. Fluffball had stayed with her. The cat stretched his paw and patted her face. Then, he continued to rub his head against hers and meowed. His movement told her that he was worried about her.
nHowever, in the morning, Mr. Fluffball started to act as if he did not care about her anymore.
nThese days, the cat was acting very strangely. Song Xing Xing could not figure out what was wrong with Mr. Fluffball.
nIt couldn't be that he was in the heat, right? No way. Mr. Fluffball was already spayed a few years ago.
nSong Xing Xing lifted her head to look at her cat again and saw the way he was looking at her with a judging look.
nMr. Fluffball jumped out of bed and run over to the kitchen to find his food.
nSeeing that the cat no longer cared about her, Song Xing Xing stood up to wash her face. As she stood in front of the mirror, Song Xing Xing was surprised at how her face looked like. Her eyes and face were swollen.
nIt did not look as if the swell would go away no matter what she does. She could only put some eye cream under her eyes and hope that the swelling would go away soon.
nAfter finding something to eat for breakfast, Song Xing Xing took out her phone and logged into the game.
nShe held a bowl of cereal in one hand and her phone in the other. After claiming the daily gifts, Song Xing Xing went through her contact list and saw that her friend, General Huo, was online.
nAfter pondering for a moment, she tapped at his name and send out a message.
nNot Your Little Star: Good morning. General Huo, you're very early today.
nHer message was not answered. Song Xing Xing guessed that the man was probably on a mission and decided to settle a few daily tasks first. After collecting enough materials for her mission, the mail icon blinked again. She clicked on the icon and saw that the man had replied to her message.
nGeneral Huo: Little Star, good morning. I'm trying to settle a few quests while waiting for my scene to start.
nNot Your Little Star: Your scene? Aren't you supposed to be memorizing your dialog while waiting for your scene?
nGeneral Huo: Don't worry. My memories are pretty good. Just don't forget to edit and make me look good during the post-production.
nSong Xing Xing saw his message and laughed.
nGeneral Huo: Little Star... actually, I'm nervous. I'm only here to kill some monsters to calm down.
nNot Your Little Star: This is your first drama. Actor Huo Yun Chen, do your best!
nGeneral Huo: Thank you. Little Star, are you going to visit me on set today? We're shooting in the studio.
nNot Your Little Star: Not today. I'm on a break. Maybe next time.
nSong Xing Xing thought about her work again and her mind drifted to Lu Xun again.
nShould she quit?
nPerhaps she should consider hunting for a new job soon. If she wanted to cut everything with Lu Xun, she should stop working for his studio, right?
nThis way, she would stop running into him.
nIt was not easy for her to find a new job. She liked working there and the people at the studio. It would be sad to leave. However, she really did not want to meet Lu Xun again.
nHer heart would waver every time she saw him. Then, she would get hurt again. It was not something that she wanted.
nThis idea of quitting was making her very conflicted.
nIt's better if she gave a thought about this matter properly before she made any decision.
nGeneral Huo: Hello? Little Star? What are you doing? Do you still want to go and kill some monster together or not? I still have a few minutes before my turn.
nSong Xing Xing snapped out of her trance and saw that there were a few messages from Huo Yun Chen.
nNot Your Little Star: Sorry. I was doing something earlier. Alright. Let's go and kill some monster.
nShe teleported to the town where Huo Yun Cheng was and accepted his invitation to team up. Soon, the two of them started to kill some monsters and collect a few materials.
nAfter a few minutes, General Huo sent her messages again.
nGeneral Huo: Little Star, what's wrong with you? You don't play like you usually do.
nSong Xing Xing stared at her low HP and realized that she had forgotten to cast the healing spell. She was a healer but she forgot to do such a thing. It could be seen that her mind was not on the game.
nNot Your Little Star: Sorry. I had something in my mind.
nGeneral Huo: Do you want to talk to me about it?
nTalk to him about their big boss, Lu Xun? It doesn't sound good, right?
nNot Your Little Star: It's fine.
nAt this time, someone pressed her doorbell. Song Xing Xing told Huo Yun Chen that she had to go and turned off her phone. She walked to the door and peeked outside.
nThe moment she saw the person outside her door, her expression changed.
nShe unlocked the door, swung it open, and stared at the person who was waving his hand enthusiastically at her.
n
"Sister!
"
nSong Xing Xing gave him a look over and asked,
"Song Wei, you… why are you here?
"
n
