n“Hungry dogs will eat dirty puddings…” She thought.
nXu Youning realized that she shouldn’t have said that; Mu Sijue wanted to pay her back!
n“Well, I’ll cook! Anyway, I’m bad at cooking!” She thought.
n…
nIn the afternoon, when Mu Sijue was sleeping, Xu Youning walked gingerly to the beside cupboard and wanted to take out her cellphone to contact Kang Ruicheng.
nMu Sijue wanted to sink Kang Ruicheng’s goods; she had to inform him of it.
nDue to her false information, Kang Ruicheng lost the chance to cooperate with the Mexicans. If Kang Ruicheng sustained another loss that night, he would make her life hard in the ensuing days.
nShe opened the drawer; before she could find her cellphone, Xu Youning’s hand was grabbed.
nFrom the familiar strength and touch, Xu Youning could tell it was Mu Sijue without looking. She turned and saw Mu Sijue deeply staring at her. He asked, “What are you looking for?”
nXu Youning felt nervous, but then she thought, “It’s my cellphone, why do I need to be guilty!?”
nMiss Xu stroked her hair with confidence and said, “I’m looking for my own cellphone!” She stressed the two words “my own” deliberately.
nMu Sijue gave her a look that was saying “I see”, then he indifferently locked the drawer and threw the key out of the window.
nXu Youning widened her eyes and came to herself after a long while. She angrily said, “Mu Sijue, why do you lock my phone in it!?”
n“I’m in charge of you, as well as your belongings.” Mu Sijue didn’t think it inappropriate at all and asked as if nothing had happened. “What’s wrong? Don’t you think so?”
n“Nonsense! I need my cellphone!” Xu Youning was nearly driven crazy. “Don’t you know that people today can’t live without a cellphone!?”
nMu Sijue threw his cellphone to Xu Youning and said, “There is no password. You can use it as you wish.”
n“…” Xu Youning was stunned.
nShe thought, “Are you kidding me? How dare I call Kang Ruicheng with your cellphone?”
nSeeing Mu Sijue’s look as if he had shown great kindness to her, Xu Youning forced a smile and asked, “Seventh Brother, do I need to say thanks to you?”
n“Yes.” Mu Sijue pretended to be serious and said, “As you said, my cellphone is much better than yours.”
nThe implied meaning of his words was that he was offering Xu Youning a better experience, so she had to thank him.
n“…”
nXu Youning clenched her teeth, taking a slow breath to ease her anger inside and managed to choke down the urge to hit Mu Sijue with the cellphone.
n“Flying all the way from City G to see Mu Sijue was totally wrong!” Xu Youning thought.
n“Mu Sijue’s injury is none of my business. It’s him, not me that has been injured. Why do I worry about him?”
nFrom what she knew from Mu Sijue, as long as he was alive, he would torment her in thousands of ways which could make her want to die. “Why did I ask for it!?”
nXu Youning turned her back to Mu Sijue and said, “I’ll go back to City G tomorrow!”
n“Xu Youning, who do you think I am? Do you think you can come or leave here as you wish?” Mu Sijue warned her.
nXu Youning wasn’t that easy to surrender. She shouted with disdain, “I have my personal freedom. I can go anywhere I want. It’s none of your business!”
nMu Sijue didn’t get mad but smiled. “Try it.”
n“I’m not afraid of you! I’ll do as I like!”
nWith that, Xu Youning stood up to rush out of the ward. At the very moment, Mu Sijue picked up the bedside phone on the wall and called Jie who was guarding outside.
nXu Youning passed the parlor aggressively and pushed open the door of the ward. Two guys immediately stopped her and said, “Miss Xu, Seventh Brother said you are not allowed to leave for the moment.”
n“Whatever he said!” Xu Youning’s words were full of rage. With that, she began to fight with those guys.
nAlthough she was a Korean boxing master, those guys were good at combat; besides, they were experienced because they had lived through a welter of blood and bullets. Being no match for them, she was caught soon.
nThe two young men awkwardly said, “Miss Xu, you’d better stay here. Seventh Brother… You know him better than us.”
n“Is he the only one who can lose his temper in this world!?”
nXu Youning struggled; the two didn’t want to hurt her and lightly held her arms, but they split the injury in her right hand by accident. She frowned; before she cried out, the blood had flowed out.
nJie asked the two guys to stop and sent Xu Youning back into the ward. “Seventh Brother, Miss Xu is here.”
nMu Sijue wasn’t surprised at all that Xu Youning was there again. He laid down the glass, glancing her at leisure and saw the blood on her hand at once. He suddenly said in a cold voice, “What happened?”
nJie felt nervous and said, “They fought with Miss Xu. Her hand hasn’t healed yet. They didn’t mean to hurt her… I’ll call the doctor right now!”
nBefore Jie leaving, Mu Sijue tore down the bedside phone and called the doctor’s office. Jie became more nervous and said, “Seventh Brother…”
nMu Sijue gave him a cold glance and said, “Go away! Do you forget the rules?”
nJie clenched his teeth and said, “I see!”
nHe walked out of the ward and pointed at the two guys who had hurt Xu Youning. “Go downstairs and run 10 kilometers.”
nJason was shocked; he asked, “Are you serious? Who’s Miss Xu? Why does Seventh Brother punish us for her!?”
n“Did you hurt your brain when playing online games?” Jie glanced Jason with disdain and said, “Not only was Miss Xu told about Seventh Brother’s injury in no time, but also did she come here from China. Who do you think she is?”
nJason got his point at once, blaming himself for not being sagacious, then he went downstairs to run laps.
nIn the ward, there seemed to be a kind of awkward atmosphere.
nXu Youning stood there, feeling angry; Mu Sijue coldly stared at her and said, “Come here!”
nWithout looking at Mu Sijue, Xu Youning slowly stepped to the sickbed. All of a sudden, he gently held her right hand and pressed the wound to stop it from bleeding.
nAll her angry broke into pieces; she surprisingly looked at Mu Sijue’s charming fingers, unable to hold back her unique feelings for him.
nShe had been injured many times; most of the time, she had dressed the wounds herself; even when she was seriously injured, she had always been alone in the ward to recover.
nNo one had ever pressed her wound to stop her from bleeding.
nHowever, when Mu Sijue did that way, she felt that… she didn’t deserve it.
nXu Youning’s sense of reason told her that she should withdraw her hand.
nWhile her sensibility asked her to continue enjoying the way he cared about her, even if it was just her wishful illusion.
nShe obeyed her inner desire.
nHalf a minute later, the Spanish-speaking doctor and nurse went into the ward and asked Xu Youning to sit on the sofa.
nXu Youning subconsciously looked at Mu Sijue and found that he had let go of her hand. With the usual cold look on his face, he said, “Did you hear what the doctor said? Sit on the sofa!”
nThe skillful doctor bandaged Xu Youning’s wound within minutes, then he asked her not to get wet and left the ward.
nXu Youning watched them leaving and thought, “Maybe… I can go with the doctor.”
nThinking of the young men outside who were strong and combative, Xu Youning gave up that idea.
n“It’s not safe outside,” Mu Sijue suddenly said; he seemed to have seen through Xu Youning. “Don’t go anywhere.”
nAfter being in a daze for a while, Xu Youning asked, “Do you mean that… there are Kang Ruicheng’s men outside?” With that, she proudly gave him a smile. “Mu Sijue, you’re worrying about me.”
nMu Sijue sneered and said, “You’d better not cause me any trouble. If you are caught by his men…”
n“Will you rescue me?” Xu Youning interrupted Mu Sijue, while her beautiful eyes were full of expectations.
n“…”
n“…”
n“What do you think?”
nMu Sijue didn’t say he wouldn’t rescue her. However, from his disdain, Xu Youning could see that he was laughing at her for her wishful thinking and that she had overrated herself.
nAll of a sudden, Xu Youning felt like her heart was being soaked into the freezing water, then it got colder and colder.
nShe tried to behave in an elegant, chic way and said, “I’ll stay here, and they can’t catch me!”
nMu Sijue was silent; he ignored Xu Youning and began to deal with some emergency affairs on the computer.
nXu Youning cleared away all her disappointments and lay down on the sofa.
nWithout using a cellphone or going out, she couldn’t get in touch with Kang Ruicheng to tell him that his goods would be in trouble.
nHowever, she wasn’t worried at all; instead, she felt more than relaxed.
nIn that case, even if Kang Ruicheng questioned her about it one day, she would have sufficient reasons to justify herself.
nShe had turned a blind eye to most of Kang Ruicheng’s businesses; however, she had always frowned upon his narcotics business.
nShe knew well how those would harm a person. She thought, “It’s a good idea to sink them into the sea, then fewer people will be harmed.”
nBy the way, she respected Mu Sijue because he had never set foot in the narcotics business.
nMu Sijue, a stubborn, domineering and callous man who would end a person’s life as he liked, had never set foot in that business, even if he had many convenient channels and it could profit him a lot.
n“Mu Sijue, have you seen The Ghost?” Xu Youning suddenly asked.
nMu Sijue didn’t look away from his computer screen and asked, “What’s that?”
n“A romantic film.” Xu Youning said, “It says that a kind person like the hero in it will go to Heaven after death, while a bad guy will be dragged into Hell by devils.”
nMu Sijue disapprovingly smiled and said, “Do you mean that I’ll go to Hell after I die?”
n“No, just the opposite.” Xu Youning smirked as she looked at the ceiling. “I think you can go to Heaven.”
n“…”
nXu Youning continued saying, “You are not so upright, but you are not a bad guy, because you have never committed heinous crimes. When one of Ah Guang’s men’s mother was sick, you gave him money and helped cure her. You’re indeed a kind man, and the angels will take you to Heaven.”
nBeyond her expectation, Mu Sijue was listening. After she finished her words, he asked with interest, “How about you?”
nXu Youning’s beautiful eyes dimmed at once.
nShe thought, “As for me? I’ve been working for Kang Ruicheng, but I’ve never thought if I’m doing wrong or right. Maybe I’ll be dragged into Hell by devils, right?”
n“Whatever, that will only happen after I die. Now that I’m alive, I’d like to have a fantasy.”
nXu Youning solemnly said, “I will hold your legs and go to Heaven with you. Seventh Brother, I wish you won’t kick me away.”
nThen Xu Youning kept speaking, and Mu Sijue listened while working. Afterwards he didn’t hear clearly what she was saying and occasionally replied “oh”.
nXu Youning didn’t care whether Mu Sijue was bored or interested; she just kept talking.
nAfter a while, the ward sank into quietness. Mu Sijue looked toward the sofa—with a pillow in her arms, Xu Youning had huddled herself up and fallen asleep.
nHe took a blanket and got out of bed, then he lifted his arms to place the blanket on Xu Youning.
nXu Youning held the blanket, then she turned over and slept deeper.
n
