nXu Youning looked at Mu Sijue blankly.

nAlthough she didn’t want to admit it, seeing him did ease her racing and restless heart.

nIf Mu Sijue did had not gone there, she would have been unable to get out of that trouble alone that day.

n“Seventh Brother…” Wang Yi’s voice could not stop trembling. “Sorry, I, I didn’t know that she was Miss Xu.”

nWang Yi’s people were also scared out of their wits.

nThey had been working for Uncle Yang, so they usually wouldn’t get in touch Mu Sijue’s people. Plus, Xu Youning had only been working under Mu Sijue for a short time. They had never seen her except for hearing some of her stories, and they even took that young but extremely capable woman as their role model.

nJust then, however, not only did they make a move on their idol, but also alerted Mu Sijue.

n“This doesn’t look good!”

n“Seventh Brother, I’m sorry!” They bowed in despair and apologized.

nMu Sijue didn’t even look at them. He went straight over and looked at Xu Youning. He frowned slightly and looked at Wang Yi. “Who did this?”

nWang Yi gritted his teeth and said, “It was all my idea! They just listened to me!” He would surely not end well. Still, he would rather take all the blame than make his team share the responsibilities with him.

nOf course, Mu Sijue was aware that it was a lie out of brotherhood, but he didn’t want to ask further. He changed the subject, “Yesterday morning, why were you in Xu’s house?”

n“This… I…” Wang Yi hesitated and didn’t know whether he should give away Yang Shanshan or not.

n“I want the truth.” Mu Sijue warned Wang Yi lightly, “If you lie again, this will be your last time to say anything ever again.”

nMu Sijue did what he said. He never joked, even when he was threatening someone.

nAfter all, Wang Yi was afraid of death. With his eyes closed, he said, “It was Miss Shanshan who asked us to go there. Miss Shanshan said a girl from the Xu’s had offended her and asked us to go over to teach her a lesson.”

nMu Sijue’s eyes darkened. He said, “You hurt an old person when you didn’t find the person Yang Shanshan had asked for?”

n“We, we…” Wang Yi was struggling. He replied, “It was also Miss Shanshan’s idea. She said that if we couldn’t find that girl, doing something to her family could also send the message.”

nMu Sijue narrowed his eyes. No one could clearly see how he did it. They only saw him kicking Wang Yi with his slender leg like a gust of wind. The power was so strong that Wang Yi couldn’t take it. He retreated a few steps and hit the wall.

n“Crack—” The sound of something breaking could be heard.

nThe unimaginable pain and agony were written all over him, but Wang Yi couldn’t say a word.

n“I’ve given you a lesson on behalf of Uncle Yang,” Mu Sijue stared coldly at Wang Yi and said, “Should anything like this happen again… no more words need to be said. You won’t be able to walk out the door with your legs.”

nWang Yi covered his aching chest and nodded. “Seventh Brother, I know I was wrong. I should have never hurt the old man. I promise this will not happen again!”

nAs was known to all, Mu Sijue was very respectful to the old men who had started the business with his grandfather. Wang Yi had dared to take all the responsibility because he knew that Mu Sijue would forgive him for Mr. Yeung’s sake.

nBut it turned out that he was naive. He wouldn’t care about the others if anyone offended him.

nMu Sijue left Wang Yi alone. He turned to Ah Guang and told him, “Look into the whole thing, including every single detail in the bar. You know what to do. Then, he looked back at Xu Youning. “You, come with me.”

nXu Youning was obedient as never before and followed behind Mu Sijue.

nIn the bar, only Ah Guang and Wang Yi were left.

nAt that time, Wang Yi could only count on that little friendship he had with Ah Guang. He said desperately, “Ah Guang, I really need your help this time.”

n“But I really can’t help you this time.” Ah Guang sighed. “Wang Yi, you really crossed the line. Not only did you hurt an innocent old man, but you also hurt Sister Youning.”

n“That woman means that much to Seventh Brother?” One of Wang Yi’s people asked incredulously.

nAh Guang pointed to Wang Yi, who was covering his wound, looking pained in the process. “I think this is quite self-explanatory. You all should be glad that I made it on time. If you guys had really hurt Sister Youning, you would have died millions of times.”

nWang Yi’s people finally got it and looked at him with sympathy. But they couldn’t do anything about it.

n“Ah Guang,” Wang Yi asked in pain, “What do you think I should do this time?”

nAh Guang looked at the gauze wrapped on Wang Yi’s head and said, “First, go to the hospital and have the wound treated. Tell me what happened at the bar tomorrow and do whatever you need to do. You know Seventh Brother’s rules.”

nWang Yi opened his mouth, trying to say something to plead for mercy; Ah Guang raised his hand to stop him. “Seventh Brother likes the dishes made by Sister Youning’s grandmother very much. It’s fortunate that her grandmother wasn’t hurt. Or else, it would have been your doom.”

nEveryone knew that Mu Sijue was picky about food.

nHowever, he liked to eat the food made by Xu Youning’s grandmother. The importance of that old lady for Mu Sijue was obvious. Wang Yi had no choice but to face the truth. He nodded and had his people send him to the hospital.

nAt the time, Xu Youning had already followed Mu Sijue out of the bar.

nAfter thinking for a while, Xu Youning said to Mu Sijue, “Thank you.”

nMu Sijue turned back to look at Xu Youning, and there was no sign of concern in his tone. “Did they hurt you?”

nXu Youning touched her head.

nShe had been caught off guard when the sharp pain was swept over. For a few seconds, she even thought that she was going to die.

nBut to think of it, the pain was more likely an illusion to her.

nShe shook her head. “I’ve let you down. I’m fine.” After a pause, she sounded certain as she added, “But, I won’t let Wang Yi go so easily.”

nMu Sijue said in a low voice, “I will deal with it for you.”

n“This is my business,” Xu Youning said with resistance, “Don’t intervene.”

nMu Sijue narrowed his eyes slightly. “You don’t believe me?”

n“No, I believe in you.” Xu Youning pursed her lips. ” But this can’t serve as a good reason for you to get involved in my business.”

nMu Sijue’s style was crystal clear to her. Even if Wang Yi and his people had hurt an ordinary old man that day, Mu Sijue would not let it go.

nHe was the only man who could do whatever he wanted, in that city.

nShe believed that if Mu Sijue dealt with the matter, Wang Yi would be punished squarely.

nNonetheless, she would encounter a lot of things in the future. It would be impossible for Mu Sijue to handle every single thing for her.

nTherefore, she didn’t want be too dependent.

nMu Sijue couldn’t see through Xu Youning’s thoughts at all. He frowned and thought, “Why can’t I handle Xu Youning’s things?”

nWith an intent to probe, Mu Sijue said, “Don’t go to Shanshan, I will go talk to her.”

nXu Youning was stunned for a moment; her heart was sinking ceaselessly. After a moment, she reacted, “Oh.”

nThat was unexpected. Mu Sijue frowned harder. “You’re okay with it?”

n“This is your decision. I kinda have to be okay with it.” Xu Youning smiled stiffly. “Yang Shanshan and you have been close since you were little. And Mr. Yang and you are as close as father and son. I am not dumb. I wouldn’t go to Yang Shanshan and cross the boundary.”

nXu Youning didn’t say the remaining half of her sentence—that didn’t mean that she looked past on that. One day, she would make Yang Shanshan pay for what she did and double it!

nMu Sijue’s chest rose and fell slightly.

nXu Youning being so obedient didn’t make him any happier. His anger was triggered by her indifference.

nShouldn’t she be mad when he shielded Yang Shanshan?

nMu Sijue just realized that he was expecting Xu Youning to be jealous.

nThinking about that, Mu Sijue opened the car door gloomily. “I’ll send you back!” It was hard to tell whether he sounded stiff or reluctant.

nAfter running around for half of the night, Xu Youning was exhausted. She got into the passenger seat and closed her eyes after fastening the seat belt, with her head tilted, leaning against the window.

nStarting the car, Mu Sijue glanced at Xu Youning and unconsciously slowed down the speed.

nAfter returning from Mexico, Xu Youning had changed slightly. She occasionally rebelled, but she listened to him most of the time. He knew very well that it was because of what had happened between them.

nIt was just a matter of time for Xu Youning to leave him. He shouldn’t be as concerned over it, but he couldn’t help it.

nAfter a while, a long breath was heard from the passenger seat. Xu Youning must have been sleeping very deeply. Mu Sijue suddenly had a selfish thought: he hoped the road back to the Xu’s home would never end.

nBecause only when Xu Youning fell asleep would she forget everything, including the person she really liked, and just stay quietly and wholeheartedly with him.

nHe was far greedier than he had imagined when it came to Xu Youning.

nBut reality was in front of him—the arrival of Xu Youning’s home.

nMu Sijue stopped the car. He stared at Xu Youning’s face for a long time, then he finally woke her up.

nXu Youning was sleeping soundly. When she was awakened, she was annoyed. But when she saw Mu Sijue’s face, the anger immediately subsided. Then she looked out of the car and realized they had arrived.

n“Thank you, Seventh Brother.”

nShe thanked Mu Sijue vaguely, and stumbled out of the car. She had no idea how she entered the house and got into her bed.

nOf course, she didn’t know that Mu Sijue’s car had been parked outside her house for a long time before leaving.

nThe night was dark. Xu Youning slept very deeply. No one knew what flashed through his mind in the more than half an hour when Mu Sijue stayed there…

nThe next day.

nWorried about her grandmother’s condition, Xu Youning woke up very early. After taking a shower and having breakfast, she was about to go to the hospital when her cell phone on the table rang.

nWhen the phone call was connected, Mu Sijue’s voice pierced through. “Come to the hospital.”

n“What hospital?” Xu Youning didn’t realize what happened for a moment. “What’s wrong?”

n“… I’m talking about the hospital your grandmother stays in.”

nAfter that, Mu Sijue hung up the phone. Xu Youning finally recovered from the shock, grabbed the phone and rushed out the door.

nMu Sijue said “come,” which meant that he was at the hospital!

n“Shit. What is he doing in the hospital? Don’t tell me that Yang Shanshan is there!”

nIt turned out that Xu Youning was too naive…
