Chapter 101 - Rested

nToday was such a crazy day for Viktor. After all the chaos he had been through, he desperately had to go and clean himself up. He currently smelled very much like a homeless beggar, he did not want to imagine how he looked.

nAs soon as he got back, Viktor immediately zoomed for the bathroom and got into the shower. He furiously rubbed every part and inch of his body with soap, hoping that all those nasty fishy smells to be washed away, so that he would be able to have a nice well-deserved sleep for the rest of the day.

n“Arrgh.. this is too heavy and tiring for me… I need a rest, to clear my mind and restore my energy,” he uttered. Hearing his tone of voice, it can be ascertained that he is really very tired at the moment

nEva was actually very worried, because he didn’t return to home last night. Seeing Viktor’s condition now, she decided to not bother him and left him alone, giving him time and space to rest his body.

n“Have a good rest dear, call me if you need anything.” The beautiful young lady left the room so that Viktor could rest.

n“What a great girlfriend,” he thought. Eva was always understanding and supportive, no matter what happened to him, and now that he realized how great the girl is, he vowed to treat her better.

nViktor spent the whole day just lying in bed while thinking. After all the obstacles and struggles he had gone through, he realized that living a quiet and peaceful life in this new world was just a dream, he would be unable to escape all the constant battle against the creatures that could kill him at any time.

nHowever, the bitter fact that he had to return to the rubble of a ruined house after a grueling battle was the thing that annoyed him the most.-.

nSince the bunker was no longer an option, he begins to question whether this new place was the best place for his future or not.

nCurrently, he lives in a creaky wooden house and the bed is very uncomfortable. Even the hot sun and the pungent smell of the salty sea can be smelled and felt from inside the house.

n“No, no.. I am Viktor Romanov. I need to get my groove back”

nHe decided that he would find a nice and comfortable place to live and build his empire so that he could live the rest of his days without restlessness and regret.

n“Probably I should go see my father.. or at least my brother.. Hopefully, he’s still alive.”

nIt was true that Viktor hated his father and everything related to the family, though perhaps not all of it. But surely He still loves their wealth.

nReturning to the family might make him entangled in the problems that happened to them. But now with what Djinn could do for him, things might just get better for him, and if only he could return to his former lavish living, maybe the risks he would face would also be worth it.

n“Yolo!! Carpe Diem!”

nBy the time he had finally recovered and regained his spirits, it was already dusk. Viktor quickly went to see and check on Jessie to see how much more time he needed, but Wade was there to stop him, telling him he was very busy and in a very emergency. very important part of the project and it suggested Viktor to come back again tomorrow.

nViktor then went to visit the mayor’s wife, Martha at the shop. When he reached the front of the shop, he immediately handed over all 80 pelts to him. It was the fur he had managed to collect during the epic seal hunt of the past two days.

nAfter seeing all the piles of crusty seal skins that Viktor had suddenly brought, the old woman was very surprised.

n“Oh My, you’re not kidding right! I thought you meant a month or something… how could you do it in just two days? This is really impossible” exclaimed the old lady queried with great surprise in her tone.

nWith all that he had been through, he had come to the conclusion that it was better to hide all about his strength.

n“I have a certain powerful trick to kill him, but this is my trade secret,” Viktor replied firmly, adding lighthearted remarks to the conversation.

n“Alright, alright, if you don’t want to tell this old woman, it’s ok. At least, you are a man who keeps his words.”

nMartha, while talking with Viktor start to collecting and checking all the stuff one by one.

n“It’s all good!” she added.

nAfterwards, the woman informed to him that it would take three weeks to a month to finish all of the work, and she emphasized that it could not be completed any sooner.

nHence, with that information, Viktor was once again faced with the challenge of effectively prioritizing his time. Three weeks to check out those progress of the alien construction, and then return to pick up the stuff before heading off to the big city. That’s a sound plan.

nIt was at this very moment that Viktor suddenly heard a commotion outside the shop, followed by one of the guards who came rushing through the shop. “The creatures of the abyss are coming!”

nWhen Martha heard the guard’s announcement, she quickly told her guards to go outside and help, and of course, Viktor would also join to defend the gate.

nAs it happened, it was the eastern gate this time, and Viktor could see a group of the Arkhangelsk residents had already gathered there. There were approximately three dozen men, all earth realm with the exception of Roman himself who was a sky realm in the group.

nBoris and Torri were also there to help. Both of them were ready and waiting for Viktor’s order.

nViktor, on the other hand, held his step and wondered. Ever since Viktor stayed in this place, there had been a few small attacks indeed, but this time, it appeared that the situation was more serious since the people looked to be more panicked than usual.

n“What happened!?”

n“They can’t turn on the defensive barrier! We need to fight!” Roman, who was leading the defense, stated.

nWithout the defensive barrier and without the sky realm fighters, the town was indeed in trouble.

nSuddenly Bugs came rushing at him with a panicked expression. It looked like he brought another urgent news that was as serious as the chaos that was happening at the gate.

n“Jessie needs your help, please come with me, hurry!”

nViktor was well aware of how important this barrier was, hence, he told the two bodyguards to help the defense while he quickly ran toward the workshop with Bugs.

nWhen he arrived, however, smoke was coming out of the workshop, and Wade and the rest of the workers were already out on the street.

n“Don’t get any closer! It will explode!!!”

nViktor looked at the workers one by one, but when he found out that Jessie wasnt there, he quickly asked

n“Jessie! Where is Jessie?!”

n“She is still inside! She’s still trying to stop this!”

n
