Chapter 109 - Talent

n“Did you kill him? The owner, I mean.” Jessie asked in a curious tone.

nViktor turned to her and looked directly at her eyes. He took a second to think before he eventually nodded. He thought that the answer would affect his chances to access the pillar.

nWhen she saw him nod, Jessie raised her eyebrow in surprise. “I see… I knew it. You’re not a simple man, aren’t you?”

nViktor only responded with a shrug without looking at her again, and Jessie immediately understood that he didn’t want to discuss the matter.

nThe girl went ahead and helped remove the old bracelets before she told Viktor to touch the stone cube.

nRight as he did, a bright light shone from the top of the cube, before it swiftly solidified into some letters. The golden letters were reflected on the hand touching the cube, and as they blinked, a new bracelet was formed directly into his wrist.

nFrom the bracelet, Viktor could see small writings made from weird letters, and before he could think of what they could possibly mean, he understood the sentences immediately.

nThe meanings were transmitted right into his mind just like what happened to the Djinn lamp.

nViktor Romanov

nMale – 23 years old

nEarth Realm level 11 – high stage-.

nSpirit Energy – Metal

nSpirit Talent – Level A

nViktor quickly figured out that the lamp and the cube seem to possess a similar system, just with a different interface. Actually, the Djinn’s was more accurate.

nThe displayed level ’11’ seems to be how the pillar’s system translated his 81 spirit force. He was about to ask Jessie about it, but then he stopped and smiled when he saw the “Spirit Talent – Level A” right underneath it.

n“Haha! Looks like I’m talented indeed.”

nThe loud boast made Jessie take a quick glance at Viktor’s numbers. A moment later, she shook her head.

n“What a lucky guy. So I was right, you are indeed a spirit enhancer. Here, let me show you mine.”

nJessie Wineberrie

nFemale – 22 years old

nEarth Realm level 30 – high stage

nSpirit Energy – Lightning

nSpirit Talent – Level C

n“You see, this is why I am the unlucky one. I have C-level talent, that is why even after two years, I have not yet reached the sky realm.”

nAt his confused and questioning expression, Jessie explained to him about the talents. And it turned out that everyone with B and, especially, A rank talent were all considered spirit enhancers. They were the ones thought and deemed as talented in magic.

nViktor listened to her explanation and sometimes nodded his head without asking anything.

nJessie didn’t seem mind by his seemingly half-hearted responses. Instead, she turned around and looked at Eva and the others. “Now, let’s see your companions’ talents.”

nWith that, Viktor quickly stepped away from the cube so the others could use it. The nervous yet expectant expressions on his companions’ faces made Viktor unable to hold back a faint smile. It didn’t take long for Boris, Torri, Barry and Eva to place their hand on the stone cube one by one, and with that, their so-called talents.

nUnfortunately, Boris and Torri were considered untalented, as they only have a D-level spirit talent for magic. Jessie explained that even if they really wanted to learn and were willing to do anything, they would still have little to nonexistent hope to advance.

nHowever, the two guys are still skilled fighters. With enough spirit stones, their physical abilities could be further improved, and eventually, they could be more terrifying than those blessed with the affinity to learn magic.

nWhen it was Barry’s turn to place his hand on the cube, the boy looked very nervous for a second. However, noticing that everyone paid their attention to him, he quickly steeled himself and walked towards the cube. As the light shone from his bracelets, he let out a relieved sigh.

nBarry

nmale – 16 years old

nMortal Realm level 30 – peak stage

nSpirit Energy – Fire

nSpirit Talent – Level C

n“Woah! I’m a C-level talent!” Barry smiled, happiness clearly reflected in his eyes. The talent may seem insignificant, but the boy seemed so happy with it.

nJessie told him that having a C-rank means he was already considered among the top 30% of the population, so he could be considered very lucky. She also said that Kosta was also one of the C-rank talent individuals.

nAt Jessie’s mention of his name, the boy proudly lifted his bracelets and showed off the engravings on it. Just like before, the information was transferred into the others’ minds.

nKosta

nmale – 15 years old

nEarth Realm level 10 – initial stage

nSpirit Energy – Earth

nSpirit Talent – Level C

nAs he read through it, for a second Barry appeared to be a little annoyed. Kosta was slightly younger than him, yet he already reached a higher realm.

nNext, it was the princess’ turn to be checked. Everyone was sticking their heads out to see over Eva’s shoulders; they were really curious about her talent. Thanks to that, they were given the shock of their life when they saw the revealed information.

nEvangeline Amelia Bardott

nFemale – 23 years old

nMortal Realm level 30 – peak stage

nSpirit Energy – Water

nSpirit Talent – Level A

nWhen she saw this, Jessie whistled and cheered. “Ah, sister Eva, you’re also a spirit enhancer! I am so envious…”

nEva could understand that her unexpected talent meant she could fight well. Unfortunately, she never liked fighting, nor was she interested in learning magic, so she didn’t care too much about it and just displayed a normal reaction.

nUpon seeing Jessie’s slightly dejected expression, the princess hugged her and said, “It’s nothing to be envious about. Look at you, you are smart, strong, and brave. I could only dream of being like you.”

nHer calming and sincere words made Jessie smile, and she hugged back the princess tightly.

n“Ah, sister, you are being far too kind… I love you so much.”

nJessie turned to look at Viktor and said, “How and when did you meet a perfect girl like this? You are such a lucky man.”

nViktor only gave her a wry smile to avoid the question. As Jessie turned away, he muttered under his breath. “Yes, I am, indeed.”

nNow that everyone has gotten their bracelets, Jessie led them to the second cube that was standing not too far from it. At first glance, the cube looked the same as the first one. In fact, there was no noticeable difference between both cubes.

nJust like before, Viktor touched the stone cube. Strange letters appeared and glowed, and when it entered his mind, he immediately could understand it.

nTwo options appeared before his eyes, prompting him to choose.

nStore Training Hall

n“Now let’s see what this is all about.”

n
