Chapter 115 - Strategy
n
n
nThese green-skinned orcs were creatures that Viktor could only imagine existing within fantasy stories or movies. Now that one was standing in front of him, he could not believe how ferocious they were.
nRoaaar!!
nSwishhh!
nThe huge three-meter orc champion heavily swung its large axe toward Viktor. Fortunately, he was considerably faster than the orc, allowing him to roll in time to dodge.
nThe orc’s axe passed just above his head.
n“That’s it, man!! Yes, dodge!” Antoine shouted, his entire body exuding vigor as he looked at Viktor with hope and excitement.
nJust a few minutes ago, the man’s complexion was incredibly pale as he was forced to form a three-man team with two earth-realm fighters. Just the mere thought of it already made him consider resigning everything to fate. However, after he personally witnessed Viktor and Jessie’s skills, no more dejection was left in him.
nAntoine became filled with hope.
nThe orc champion had 80 points of battle power. Coupling that with the size of the orc’s body, Viktor believed that it was highly unlikely for the creature to have an advantage in agility as well.
nSure enough, he was proven right. Even though its swings were heavy enough to cut his arm or neck, none of them came close to touching his body.
nViktor Romanov
nStrength – 32 (44)-.
nAgility – 71 (83)
nEndurance – 47 (59)
nBattle Power – 50 (62)
nSpirit force – 81
nNot to mention, just before Viktor was swallowed by the mutated killer whale, he had put all his available stats to agility to survive. Added with the stat boost from his Metal Fusion, he was now an entire level higher than the orc in terms of speed.
nViktor’s other stats might only be on par with earth-realm fighters, but his physical speed was at least in the same range as high-stage sky-realm fighters.
nThe enemy had no chance of gaining on him, and as long as nothing could hit him, Viktor believed that he would be able to survive in the end.
nAs for Jessie, she had Energize, a tier 3 lighting spell that gave her a boost of speed to use when she was in trouble.
nWith two speedsters on the team, there was almost nothing Antoine needed to do apart from shooting his bow at the orc. Furthermore, thanks to the two’s constant distraction of the orc champion, he could fully focus on his aim.
nSwishhh!
nSnap!
nAntoine’s eye and precision were better than Viktor initially expected. So far, although he had not successfully killed the orc, none of his shots missed their target.
nThe man was holding a precious tier 3 bow. Even though it could not kill the orc with one shot, each shot pierced its thick skin, injuring it and impeding its movements.
nNaturally, this angered the orc champion. Not only could it not catch the two annoying bugs near it, but there was also another one shooting at him from afar. It swung its axe heavily toward the girl, and using the moment she dodged away, the orc quickly turned to go after the one who had been injuring it from a distance.
nRoaaar!!
nUnfortunately for it, although it momentarily made some distance from Jessie, Viktor was still there. The orc only managed to take two steps toward Antoine when instantly, Viktor swung his tier 2 axe at the wound created by the arrow.
nRoar!!!
nThe orc champion became even more enraged. Viktor’s full swing itself was only able to scratch the orc at most, but as he aimed it at its already somewhat-injured leg, he managed to pull its attention back from Antoine.
nViktor also used this chance to try the moves of the Axe Battle Art he just learned from the pillar. As he moved following it, he found that many of his steps became considerably more efficient. Moreover, he was also able to better his posture without difficulty, and with the right posture, his swings became more accurate.
nSwish! Swish!!
nViktor tried to hurt the creature even further by slashing the orc’s joint. He successfully caused the orc champion to fall to its knee for a second, but it immediately got back up and charged at him.
nWhenever Viktor was in a bind, Jessie would quickly join in; her pole attack might not be able to wound the orc much either, but her pole’s lighting charge was able to shock the orc, causing it to turn to attack her.
nAs more time passed, the poor orc felt as if it was becoming these two humans’ plaything.
nIt was not exactly wrong. Every time its attention was on one of the two, the other would attack it, and if its attention turned to the human attacking it from afar, both of them would attack it simultaneously.
nIt was filled with rage, but it could not do anything.
nViktor could probably hurt the orc faster if he used the power of his All Might, but he was not that stupid, nor was he that reckless. He came here to scout, not to hunt. Besides, after a few minutes of constantly bothering the orc champion, Viktor realized that the three-against-one strategy was to hold the orc until the best fighter arrived to finish the creature.
nWhen the numerous arrows Antoine shot were bleeding the creature half-dead, the saint-level large man suddenly appeared next to the orc champion. In just a second, the man swiftly killed the creature with two powerful swings.
nThe previously seems invincible orc champion finally died in front of Viktor, the creature’s corpse quickly began to turn into drops of light and dispersed into the air.
nAt this moment, the saint suddenly turned to look at him.
n“Get the next one!”
nThis was their real strategy the whole troop used to fight such a large number of orcs.
nThe large group in the middle was in charge of holding the orc’s main forces, and from two sides, they started pulling the orc one by one out of its group. When the orc was finally distracted, tired, and injured, the saint-level fighter would then kill them.
nOf course, there were a few three-man teams that were strong enough to kill the orc on their own.
nAs Viktor opened his eyes wide, he found that all the spirit enhancers were actually working in groups of 3 or 5 and fighting two orcs champions at the same time. From the way they were fighting, it was clear that they had been working together for a while.
nViktor observed the way these experts fought. In their team, one person acted as the defender responsible for holding the creature’s attacks and one acted as the main damage dealer with another to switch attacks, distracting the orc and making it unable to do anything while being hurt continuously.
nWithin the left group, there was one particular party of five that stood out more than the others. There were only five of them, yet they could kill creatures two at a time with ease.
nThe team seemed to be quite famous. They called them the Golden Roses, an all-women team with one particular figure in light rose gold full plate armor standing better than the rest.
nThe female knight who stood strong with one sword in hand and a shield in the other was able to match the orc in a one-on-one.
nFemale – Sky-realm high-stage – Battle Power 80
nShe was almost as strong as the saint who dealt the last blow, and the people around the group cheered for her.
nViktor could not help but wonder what kind of face lay under her helmet.
n‘She must be a beauty.’
nHowever, the moment he was distracted, Viktor was hit by an orc’s mace, throwing him back half a dozen steps.
nNoticing this, Jessie quickly came to help him. He was about to thank the girl and pay more attention to the orc, but she teasingly interjected before he could say a word of gratitude.
n“Oh my, thinking about girls, are you? Haha.”
nViktor did not answer and simply said a word of thanks.
nWithin just a few minutes, the orc champions on their sides were defeated. Just when Viktor thought the job was finally done, he was immediately proven wrong.
nAnother 100 orc champion came charging toward the troops. Furthermore, he could see three even larger creatures among them.
nTwin-Headed Ogre
nBattle Power – 100
nThe bald two-headed monsters were able to shake the ground when they walked toward the battlefield. Its large heavy mace was swinging around ready to create havoc
nAmong the orcs, the three monsters looked even more menacing. even the powerful saint looked like a little child from its size comparison.
nBut to his surprise, the saint was still able to stop the menacing creature’s advance, and the whole strategy repeated.
nThis fight had been going like this for hours, hence it was necessary to rotate the troops so the others could rest.
nOnce again, the saint-level fighter shouted bravely as he stood at the front line.
n“Fightt!!!”
n
