125 Dogs of Hell

With the large door opened, Viktor and the three girls carefully walked through the enormous dark hall. They had not gone deep at all, but the silence permeating the darkness gave them an unsettling feeling.

Fortunately for the group, Jessie knew about the place as all the Abyss Pit had one similar place and similar room.

While they were looking around the place, Jessie had quickly prepared a strategy.

“Listen to my plan and follow me,” the girl said. Her voice was a bit quiet, but it was still loud enough for the group to hear clearly.

After they walked about 300 meters from the gate, the group finally arrived near the center of the room. Right in the center in front of them were two statues of giant hounds, each with three heads. The statues stood about three meters tall and six meters wide, towering over them like they were mere ants.

Even though Viktor could see that they were only statues, shivers ran down his spine when he looked into their eyes. The ferocity in the gazes looking down on him made him feel he was going to be devoured this instant.

Viktor was startled. “That’s the boss monster!?”

The girl nodded. “Don’t move a step closer. If any of us gets too close, those things will crack. We’ll have no other choice but to fight them if that happens.”

Hearing this, Viktor reflexively took a step back. when he turned to look at Jessie, he noticed that the girl seemed relieved instead.

Viktor subconsciously relaxed a little upon seeing this.

“What happened, something different?” he mentioned while observing her expression.

“I’m not sure how or why, but fortunately, there are only two of them. There are supposed to be three of these creatures, but…” Jessie looked at the large pile of stones next to the two towering statues. “It looks like it was either destroyed or had broken out and escaped the pit before we came.”

She did not know what happened, but that did not mean she was going to let the opportunity go. After thinking about it for a brief moment, Jessie took out three scrolls and gave one of them to Viktor.-.

It was the same scroll she previously gave him, a Fire Infusion Scroll

“That’s the last one I have. These things aren’t like those gargoyles we met above who can only be hit by magic items, but we’re still going to need every bit of power we have to kill them,” she said after Viktor took the scroll.

“Can’t we just look for the exit without getting close to them?”

“No. We need to kill them if we want to get out of here. There’s no other way.”

Viktor was initially a little doubtful, but her readiness and determination to eliminate the two hounds in front of them quickly dispelled it.

Since they had to kill these creatures to get out, Viktor asked the Djinn for their details.

Cerberus – Level 99

Abyss creature – Stage 4

Battle Power – 100

The creature had a whopping three-digit battle power. Moreover, there were two of them! Viktor was still unsure that he was strong enough to defeat one of them even after factoring in his All Might and Metal Fusion, so how was Jessie so confident when they had to take care of both of them?

In response to his questioning gaze, the girl only looked at him with a smile.

“So… are you ready, metal guardian?”

Jessie had her signature smile on her face as she teased him, but Viktor could see that it was somewhat forced.

Without waiting for him to respond, the girl quickly told both Eva and Liza to stay. Immediately after, she swiftly charged at the stone statues and Viktor immediately followed while fully covered in his metal suit.

Just as Jessie said, as soon as they got close, the surface of the two stone statues rapidly cracked apart and the creatures inside broke through the stone skin covering their bodies.

ROAAARR!!!

“Follow right behind me!” Jessie shouted. Although the stone skin was cracking at a rapid pace, it seemed that they still had a few seconds before the two creatures could break free.

Without a shred of hesitation, Jessie shouted “Use the scroll!”

While Viktor quickly used the fire indusion to emblaze his axe, Jessie also opened the two scrolls in her hands. She was counting on this.

Iron Chain Scroll – Tier 1 Metal Spell

Entangled Scroll – Tier 1 Plant Spell

Tens of iron chains rose from the ground, locking every joint on the two Cerberi’s still-restrained bodies. At the same time, sharp roots sprouted from the ground around the chains, piercing and creeping up the two creatures’ legs.

The stone skin covering the Cerberi’s bodies fully broke, but the creatures were still locked in place.

The sounds of metal clanking accompanied roars filled with rage as the giant three-headed hounds struggled to break free. Their struggles even caused minor earthquakes to their surroundings, but the chains did not budge.

The two spell scrolls took Viktor by surprise. Although he expected it to hinder these monsters to a degree, he never expected it to work this effectively.

“What are you waiting for? Attack now!!” Jessie loudly shouted.

With one hand holding an ax, the other holding a hammer, and with 10 extra points of strength, Viktor charged toward the closest Cerberus and swung both of his weapons at its head.

Bammm!!!

Blood spattered from one of the Cerberus’ three heads. His ax left a deep cut wound, but it was barely enough. Hence, Viktor swiftly jumped up to the creature’s back and hit the large hound’s head several more times.

Splat! Bamm!!

The consecutive hits caused the creature to roar in pain, but it still was not nearly enough to kill it. At the same time, sounds of tearing and metal breaking came from the ground.

Multiple iron chains and sharp roots were breaking apart several at once. Their time was almost up, yet they had not even come close to killing one of them.

Moreover, Jessie seemed to be in a lot of pain. It appears that she would not be able to hold both spells against the two enormous creatures for long.

Viktor attacked the creatures in front of him even harder.

“Die! Die! Why can’t you just die!!”

Viktor’s attacks became even fiercer, but this also caused the Cerberus to rage even more. This only made it harder for Jessie. While he was attacking, Viktor saw the girl take out a familiar green serum and injected it into her neck.

At that moment, her eyes glowed green, and once again, Jessie was able to hold the two spells to restrain the two creatures much stronger than before.

Realizing that Jessie had already used her best ability, Viktor knew that he should not keep his.

All Might

You have received 51 points in strength.

Duration: 5 minutes

Strength – 32 (95)

Agility – 72 (84)

Endurance – 48 (60)

Battle Power – 51 (80)

With his increased strength, every hit from his hammer would create a breaking sound and each strike of his flaming ax would leave a deep cut. In just a few seconds, blood gushed out from the Cerberus’ heads, and after a dozen heavy hits toward the restrained creature, the creature finally dropped to the ground motionless.

You have received the spirit energy of a stage 4 abyss creature – Level 99.

You have received 4 points of spirit force.

As soon as they finished the first creature, however, Jessie quickly dropped to her knees. She was panting with her entire body trembling as she was barely able to hold the spells.

“That’s… Great… I need a few seconds… go… get the second one!”

Having no time to respond, Viktor dashed toward the second creature and swung his two weapons as hard as he could.

Swisshh!! Splatt!!

His heavy swing managed to decapitate one of the Cerberus’ heads, causing blood to heavily gush out of its now-severed neck.

However, at the same time, the creature also broke free from Jessie’s spells. The moment it fully broke free, it ferociously tackled Viktor with its huge body and threw him away a dozen feet.

The creature was not only fast, but it was also extremely strong. Even though he had only been hit once, Viktor could feel his whole body aching.

Jessie stood up and started using the polearm to shoot the beam. However, when the beam hit the creature, it only had half the power it previously showed.

The Cerberus was initially about to charge at Viktor again, but the beam caused it to charge at her instead.

The girl was in extreme danger. Viktor jumped in and quickly grabbed Jessie away. Even with his boosted speed, he was just barely able to dodge the danger.

“I’m sorry, I don’t think I can fight anymore…” Jessie weakly said.

Roaarrrr!!

The girl was in no condition to fight, but the creature was ready for a second charge. With only three minutes of his skill left, Viktor needed to finish this quickly.

He was planning to immediately use full force while dodging its charges, but at that moment, the Djinn brought another piece of bad news.
