178 The Chef

Seeing the long queue, Viktor became convinced.

The two of them passed the queue and entered the tavern. It was a cramped room, and the tables were full, so the air felt a little stuffy

But something caught Viktor’s attention. All of the customers seemed to be eating the same food, a food with a strange red appearance. And, of course, this surprised him.

‘Do they all have the same taste?’

Inside the small tavern, there was a black-haired girl, who looked around Barry’s age. She was busy serving customers. After realizing that someone had interrupted the queue, she quickly approached Viktor and Viez.

“Sorry, please enter the queue if you want to eat here. The seat is limited to 20 people.”

Viez, who seemed to know the girl, immediately persuaded her.

“Come on, Miriam. Don’t be like a stranger.”

Miriam’s face looked reluctant at Viez’s request. As if she was afraid of getting into trouble.

Viez, who was aware of Miriam’s worries, then convinced her.

“Calm down. Just say that it’s Viez. She won’t be angry.”

Only then did the young girl agree to provide a seat for the two of them.-.

Viktor and Viez sat at the far end of the table, near the kitchen.

“Today’s lunch menu is an omelette, and the drink is water. Wait a moment.”

One of Viktor’s eyebrows rose upon hearing Miriam’s words. “Can’t we order another menu?”

Miriam seemed to shake her head. “We only provide one menu for each day and it depends on the chef’s decision.”

Viktor nodded after hearing Miriam’s explanation. Now he understood why all these people here ate the same menu. It turned out that the food they ate was the same omelette.

After that, the girl name Miriam entered the kitchen.

While Viktor and Viez sat, waiting for the order to arrive, Viktor looked around.

Everything here seemed simple. Aged paint. Wall ornaments were installed modestly. There were also unsynchronized mixes of wooden tables and chairs for customer seating and not even a cloth on the table.

Even in this condition, people didn’t seem to mind eating at this stall.

When he thought about it, groceries were rare goods. So if it got to be processed into decent food, it must be expensive.

But the place was still bustling with customers, and the shop kept selling.

According to Viktor, whoever ran this business was quite interesting.

Not long after, a male customer appeared who had a problem with his food.

Miriam, who had been busy going back and forth between the kitchen and serving customers, immediately rushed over to the customer who had complained just now.

From the table where Viktor was eating, he saw Miriam’s argument with the male guest.

“This Omelete is not salty enough, give me some salt or ketchup!”

However, Miriam politely reject the request

“I paid a high price of 20 spirit stones for this!, and i demand salt!”

Miriam tried to explain, but she seemed at a loss for words. Being cornered, she went straight into the kitchen.

“Young Master, soon we will see the show,” said Viez chuckling a little.

From the kitchen, a woman with a height of 155 cm walked out to the complaining guest. Miriam seemed to be following her from behind. In the short orange-haired woman’s hand was an iron pan.

The other customers who were enjoying the omelette witnessed the arrival of the woman, laughing a little while making noise.

“You’re the customer who said want more salt?”

The complaining guest confidently replied, “Yes!”

After that…

Bang!

The tray’s violent smack landed on the male customer’s cheek.

Viktor was surprised to see the action just now. Meanwhile, the other customers stifled laughter. From here, Viktor realized that the customers here already know very well the character of the shop owner.

“If you don’t like my cooking, just leave! Find another place!”

Of course, the guest who had just been hit was furious.

“You bitch!” The man’s hands clenched into fists, ready to hit the little woman. But the other customers immediately stood up.

Immediately the man gave up. Then he immediately left the shop while swearing.

“This trash shop should just close forever! Your food is stale!”

Hearing what that customer just said, the little woman looked angry, she was about to chase after the man, but Miriam stopped her.

“Calm down, Chef” Even though she was a small woman, Miriam seemed to have a hard time holding her back.

Then Viez stood up.

“Julia!”

After hearing Viez’s greeting, the woman called Julia immediately changed her attitude.

“Oh, Viez. Sorry about this embarrassing show.” the chef’s eyes looked at the customers around her.

“What did you see? Mind your own business.”

Instantly the customers returned to eating.

Julia came over to Viez’s table, and Viktor sat down.

“Who is this, Viez? Your boyfriend?”

Viez shook her head. “No, he is my boss, Mister Viktor.”

“Oh!”

Julia’s eyebrows shot up after hearing the words just now. She didn’t expect her friend to work for someone else.

Viktor stood up. “Hello, Miss Julia. Viez said that this shop is run by a Michelin star chef, I came to taste your food.”

Julia then smiled. “If Viez agreed to work with you, Mister Viktor must be special. Wait a moment.”

Julia, The Chef, and Sous Chef returned to the kitchen. Not long after, Julia herself came with an omelet to the front of the two of them.

“French Omelette, Bon Appetite!”

On a white plate, there was a red omelette with a sprinkling of green chives. Judging by the colour, Viktor was sure that this omelette was made from mutated animal eggs.

‘For the first time, I’m going to eat the clumps-of-liver-like omelette.’

Viktor wasn’t sure he would eat this egg, while Viez seemed to be eating it casually. Even the expression on her face seemed to be enjoying it.

With a heavy heart, Viktor finally stuffed the blood-red omelette into his mouth.

Viktor chewed the omelette in his mouth. His tongue was trying to interpret the taste of the food in his mouth.

“How is it, Mister Viktor?”

Viktor was silent for a moment. Then he said. “Edible.”

One of Julia’s eyebrows rose. The tray she was holding was placed on the table. “What did you just say, huh?”

Instantly Viez’s face turned pale.
