184 Renovation

Viktor still couldn’t forget what happened yesterday as he was still annoyed with Anna’s behavior for not wanting to listen to his explanation.

If only he had a little time to explain, maybe things could be different, although he was not sure what to explain.

To distract himself, Viktor decided to keep himself busy in terms of the club renovation developments.

First, he focused on helping Eva organize the club interiors. All wallpapers removed were replaced with new ones. Then the podium light that was dead got repaired.

The next day the new furniture ordered by Viez arrived. Eva bought a lot of stuff. Such as sofas, glass tables, decorative walls, and several glass cabinets to store bottles.

Eva had high taste and class. So she designed the interior of each floor with different themes. The first floor was a neon light theme because it was used for dancing. Then the 2nd and 3rd floors carried the old classic theme because it was for VIP customers who were the lucky ones who could enjoy food and entertainment.

In addition, Eva had also asked for special uniforms for club employees. Especially dancers, as they needed clothes that were eye-catching but elegant at the same time.

Overall there was no problem with the interior of the main room.

But the problem now was the kitchen.

The condition of the kitchen was very poor. When compared to a five-star hotel kitchen, this club kitchen was like a sinking ship.

There were only two stoves, and both were broken. Cooking utensils such as saucepans, frying pans, and knives that were supposed to be stainless steel, get rusty. Plus there was no air duct to exhaust the kitchen fumes causing the ceiling to look scorched.-.

In addition, many vital items in the kitchen were not available. Such as refrigerators, deep fryers, ovens, and herb storage rooms. All of this was very important, especially where food was stored.

The Chef wanted everything in here removed and filled with new equipment.

Julia gave Viktor a slip of paper listing the equipment she wanted to use. Without reading any of it, Viktor immediately handed it over to Viez to find the stuff.

Under Julia’s direction, Barry and Kosta spent a whole day cleaning the kitchen and getting rid of old things.

Viktor also had to find a channel to find fresh food ingredients. Because fresh food ingredients in storage were very limited. Maybe if used for private use, it could last for 2 years. But once the restaurant was up and running, these ingredients would run out quickly.

This was a bigger problem, and Vikor, at this point, could only ask Viez to look for information.

“Huh… where should I start?” Viez asked, confused.

Of course, after 2 years of going through the apocalypse, these materials would be very difficult to find. Viktor understood that and tried his luck to find the ingredients that were mandatory to have for his club.

“Vodka and Caviar!”

The two goods were inseparable in Russia. Vodka was like the water that they drink every day. While Caviar was the main ingredient of food that symbolized luxury.

For vodka, maybe he would look to manufacturers, such as vodka factories or bars that still had many stocks.

The main problem now was Caviar. These food were already expensive before the apocalypse era, he didn’t know how much they cost now. In addition, caviar was fish eggs.

Viktor could only hope that there were still some animals that hadn’t gone through mutation. Or, he should try and find out if the mutated sturgeon could still produce caviar eggs.

Apart from that, other products such as eggs, milk and meat, Victor could try to ask his sister Sheila Romanov about this matter.

While waiting for Viez to arrive looking for kitchen equipment, Viktor practised North Fist in the back shed.

During that time, he practised the 5th punch variation stroke move on North Fist. But either because his mind was not focused or indeed this 5th variation was much more difficult than the previous 4 levels, he still couldn’t master it.

From variations of punches, the movement techniques to inner strength, all three were not easily mastered.

A week later, Viez returned with a list of information on kitchen equipment that was attached to the total cost needed.

“40,000 spirit stones?” Viktor’s eyes narrowed when he saw the total cost of the kitchen utensils Julia needed. While at the moment, the money he had was 15,000 spirit stones after he used it to buy club furniture.

Indeed, at first glance, kitchen utensils were not the main priority items in this post-apocalypse era. But there was a reason the price soared this much.

According to Viez, all of these kitchen utensils were looted. It was hard to figure out which ones were still working properly and which weren’t. An example was the refrigerator.

In addition, Viez was not only looking in Perm City. She had used various channels in the other three cities to search for kitchen equipment. Because all goods were in different places, transportation costs were required to send the ordered goods.

This was what caused prices to soar. As they remembered that the courier didn’t just pass through heavy snow, but also thousands of dangerous monsters.

For that, Viez didn’t order right away, she went back to Viktor first to get confirmation. She even took her time to offer Viktor an outside channel that she knew. But Viktor refused because the price would definitely be more expensive

All the items that Julia needed cost a large number of spirit stones. He no longer had anything to sell.

Actually, Viktor had a lot of spirit stones. But unfortunately, they were all in the form of credits stored in the Doomsday Pillar. So it couldn’t be used.

“I really, really need to start making money already!’

The next day, although the hall was still half-finished, the overall condition looked neat. Because today, Viktor’s club invited two important guests.

“Young Master, they are coming!” said Barry.

Two well-dressed men were seen. They were Mayor Benjamin and Guild Leader of the Black Company, Oswald Wesley. Viktor greeted the two of them, who were still walking through the entrance corridor.

As usual, Viktor and Mayor Benjamin seemed close whenever they met. Meanwhile, Oswald Wesley was treated with respect as a guest. According to Viez, Oslwad was not an open person like Benjamin. So Viktor treated him with care.

Viktor led them inside the hall. Major Benjamin looked impressed by the significant change this club had made. He remembered that this place used to be a rundown brothel. The same reaction was seen in Oswald.

“Even though this place isn’t ready yet, it feels classy here. Did you design this place?” asked Oslwad curiously.

Viktor knew this was happening. According to Viez, Oswald had great taste. And Viktor invited him to the club directly so that person could see firsthand the elegant beauty of Eva’s designs.

After they sat down, a waitress appeared to bring two or three cocktails for the two of them. Oswald’s eyes were drawn to the waitress. The two of them only made eye contact briefly. Even when the waitress left, Oswald was still staring at her from a distance. Viktor knew that, but he let it go.

Before discussing the actual topic, Viktor discussed a little about the club plan. How he would design the room and what facilities would be needed.

Oswald seemed interested in hearing Viktor’s story. He even took time to offer Viktor some things.

“Perhaps I can provide some paintings, carpets, or decorative items suitable for this place. What do you think, Mister Viktor?”

Viktor’s eyes opened wide. He didn’t expect to get an offer so soon, but Viktor didn’t accept it right away. He needed to confirm one thing, whether this was a gift or a give-and-take transaction.

“Well, of course, I’m very happy, but I’m currently focusing my finances on the kitchen,” said Viktor.

Oswald’s eyes opened wide. “Oh, Mister Victor. It seems you misunderstood. This is our introductory gift.” Oswald opened his hand.

After that, Viktor and Oswald laughed together. Viktor’s plan to attract Oswald’s attention worked.

As Viktor and Oswald seemed to be having a good time chatting, Mayor Benjamin cleared his throat. He wanted to quickly discuss the plan Viktor was referring to.

“How about we get into the topic of conversation, shall we?” Mayor Benjamin looked impatient. He had done so much for Viktor, and he didn’t want this meeting to be fruitless.

Only then did Viktor dive into the main topic.

Victor cleared his throat. “Relax, Mayor. I already have a plan. It will be a very large project and absorb thousands of workers.”

The mayor’s face looked puzzled. Opening a project could indeed create jobs. However, the project must have a clear function and purpose while going forward.

“If I may ask, what project is that, Mr Viktor?”

Viktor excitedly said

“Trans Siberian Railways!”
