Chapter 42 - Sneaky

nViktor’s figure could be seen vaguely as he made a trek across the snow, and this time, he was not alone. A blue husky was seen trotting through the vast expanse of white obediently behind him.

nAfter walking for nearly an hour, Viktor found the ruins of a Russian little town. Just like everything else, snow entirely covered the place with its presence. Furthermore, most of the houses appeared a little more than rubble held together by a few stray bolts and nails.

nFrom the looks of it, the town was just a passerby settlement near the road between cities. It has 100 houses at most, along with a few small shops that had long since been abandoned. If he wanted to extract a lot of metal, this should be a good place to start as he was sure no one would mind it.

n“Djinn… what do you sense? How many enemies are there?”

nEven though the settlement was quiet and looked secured at glance, Viktor knew that the place was far from the word safe.

n<20 stage one zombies, 20 stage two zombies, and two black stage 3 zombies.>

nBetween his current position to the edge on the other end of the town, there was at least a distance of 2 miles. Fortunately, his realm upgrade didn’t just give the Djinn the ability to turn into a dog form, it also increased the range of its detection to 2 miles – enough to sense the whole town.

n“That’s not too bad right? Much less than I thought.”

nIt was indeed not too much compared to what he was thinking of, considering that a town with one hundred houses should have at least 200 residents in total.

nHowever, the fact that there are 20 red stage two undead roaming the place, and considering what Viktor had seen of their speed, they could still pose a threat.

nHe also remembered the strength of the terrifying black zombie that required his Allmight boosted strength stat to even be barely able to allow him to kill it. Hence to be on the safe side, he decided to use all 10 points bonus stat he had just received to increase his strength.-.

nViktor Romanov

nStrength – 19(29)

nAgility – 49

nEndurance – 28

nBattle Power – 35

nSpirit Force – 30

nEarth realm – initial stage

nBefore this, Viktor had planned to prioritize and add all his stats towards agility, but his fear for the black zombies quickly ruined that plan.

nRight now, he was much more confident of his chances to fight against and defeat the undead. However, he knew that he still needed to be careful, as fighting a lot of them at the same time would just put him in a bad situation where they could overwhelm him.

n“Alright, you watch my back, and help me if I get in trouble.”

n“Woof! woof!”

n“Oh, also, do take care to be quiet…”

nViktor’s plan was to clear the town from the undead first, so that he could start extracting metal in peace without worrying some undead would jump out of some dark corner and bite him in the ass. This would be a better approach to this situation.

nWith his high agility, sneaking in through the town didn’t need much effort on his part. The Djinn also helped by working as his radar, detecting the location of the undead and making the process even easier.

nSplaatt!!

nWith one hit, Viktor was able to kill the stage one undead who were just shuffling around without aim one by one with extreme ease. He was even able to sneak behind one of the red zombies and pierced its head before it could do anything. Rotten blood and guts splattered all around him as he pulled his dagger back, causing Viktor’s expression to twist in pure disgust.

n“Yikes!! This is disgusting.. I don’t think I will ever get used to it no matter how many times I see it.”

nFinishing with the rant, Viktor quickly continued on with what he was doing. With smooth and careful movements, he was able to clear half of the town from the undead. And by this point, he could finally move around through the town without having to be forced to fight one of those big black zombies.

nIn addition, the Djinn’s sensors helped him see all these undead’s strengths.

nStage one human undead tier 1 – battle power 10

nStage two human undead – tier 1 – battle power 20

nStage three human undead – tier 2 – battle power 30

nThanks to this, Viktor just realized that the terrifying stage 3 undead were just a tier 2 monster. As for its battle power, he could actually match it this time around. Therefore, he decided to be brave this time and fight without the aid of his special skill.

nBut still, there is no way he would be stupid enough to let the remaining undeads gang up on him while he was busy tackling one of their kinds. For this problem, he came up with a plan.

n“Djinn, it’s time for you to show me how great you are.”

n“Woof woof”

nViktor saw how the blue dog started swishing its tail in happiness. For all the talk about how powerful it is, handling this Djinn was a simple enough matter. Even a little insincere praise would allow him to go a long way.

nA moment passed, and in the center of the town, a blue Siberian husky was barking loudly, attracting the attention of all the rest of the zombies still roaming in the town.

nThen, without further ado, the animal sped off towards one corner of the town, and thanks to the commotion it caused earlier, the horde of undead was hot on its heels.

nThe two black stage 3 undead were also drawn to it, however, as soon as the zombie in the very back started walking through the streets, someone darted through the ground at tremendous speed, causing snow to spray all around.

nThen, the figure leaped to the air and stabbed a dagger straight into its head as his feet landed on the undead’s shoulders.

nSplaattt!

nRoooarrr!!

n“Hahaha, I got you!!” Viktor exclaimed, as he used his strength and agility to keep hanging on the creature while stabbing it.

nHowever, the 3-meter tall monster did not fall as easily as expected. Instead, it used its arms to grab Viktor back.

n“Argh! No, no…”

nEven though his attack attempt failed, the creature was still in pain, evident from how it slammed Viktor to the ground with only half its strength.

nThe thick snow helped to lessen the brunt of impact his body received when it hit the hard ground, but the black creature’s attack still hurt.

nOn the other side though, VIktor’s attack was fatal, as the black creature could be seen falling onto its knees moments later, black liquid leaking down from its wounded head. The liquid looked stark in contrast to the snow, and in a few minutes, the creature was dead.

nFinally, after killing all those undead before, a notification came to mind.

nYou have received the spirit energy of a stage three undead – level 25.

nYou have received 1 point of endurance.

nYou have received 1 point of spirit force.

nViktor was proud of his plan, as he smirked while reading the notification and glancing at the huge undead corpse on the ground. He held his weapon tight and turned around, ready to kill the second one and the rest of them one by one.

nHowever, as soon as he turned around, he was greeted with a shocking sight. The blue husky was running right towards him, followed by more than a dozen zombies.

n“Djinn what the fu*k!! Why did you bring them here?! I said take them as far as you can!”

n“Woof woof!”

nWith its tail still swinging it said,

n

n“…..”

nViktor could feel the Djinn was mocking him.

nNow, what is done is done.. He was face to face with two dozen stage one and two undead, along with one black zombie at the same time.

n
