Chapter 70 - Knight Templar
n
n
nThe Vatican? Knight Templar?
nViktor was well-versed enough on the Knight Templar to recognize that it was the name of a nearly millennia-old organization.
nHearing the words together with what he knew about the Vatican which is a place where the pope lives, caused him to be certainly perplexed.
nCould he possibly just died and be reborn 900 years ago? There’s no way, right?
nIf it wasn’t because of the prowess they had shown before, Viktor might well have assumed they were actors for some fantasy movies
nViktor shook his head once more, realizing that the last two years of the chaotic apocalypse had certainly driven people to the brink of insanity.
n“What is your name, young man?” Asked the knight captain
n“I am Viktor..”
nThese Vatican groups seemed to have finally judged Viktor as unimportant, as they didn’t ask more of his situation and have begun asking for a direction to a certain town in the north for their so-called mission.-.
nAs he was better knowledgeable about Russia’s geography than these visitors from Rome, Viktor was able to help them.
nA few moments later, Viktor was surprised to see the woman named Elena suddenly approach him close and put her hand on his wounded shoulder.
nHe was about to ask what she wanted to do when a second later, he saw a bright glow appear on her palm, followed by a warm sensation, and the sight of his wound closed up very quickly, much to his amazement.
n“Healing magic!” Viktor exclaimed.
nIt simply took a few seconds for the woman to close his wounds and cure the injuries.
n“Thank you,” Viktor said to the lady.
nAs was his habit, Viktor smiled at the beautiful woman once more. The woman, on the other hand, seemed completely uninterested in him as she gave neither a response nor a reaction.
nDoctors would almost definitely become obsolete in this new magical world with such a spell. It only took one touch and everything would heal.
n“This is amazing, Miss Elena.”
nViktor was about to show his charm to the girl, however she once again gave a suspicious look at him
n“This is strange, you are the weakest earth realm i ever see, how could you survive so far?”
nThe girl can tell about his realm before, now she can also realize his unusual battle power that received drawbacks from his divine skill, probably its not a good idea to try flirt with her.
nWhen the knights had finished collecting all the spirit stones from the monster corpses, the knight captain approached him again and talked in a friendly manner.
n“Where do you live, Viktor?” asked Knight Captain Landin. “It’s not safe to be walking alone in the wilderness at night, so do you want to tag along with us?”
nViktor had intended to reject it at first, but when suddenly he remembered about the drawback of his divine skill that rendered him completely useless, he quickly changed his mind and decided to come along with the knights.
nAlong the way, Viktor listened and observed as much information as he could about this group of people as they were moving toward the Northeast.
nHe noticed that apparently these knights were all fully equipped with tier 2 and even tier 3 weapons, and it seemed even their armors were made of tier 2 material as well.
nOn the other hand, even though the woman named Elena was also from the Vatican, she was not part of the knights but instead something called a scribe. Apparently, it was a group of people that is dedicated to understanding the science of the new world.
nBoth groups appeared to have been a concealed element of the church for millennia but since the arrival of the apocalypse two years ago, the secret organization with hundreds of members had become widely known publicly.
n“We are here to help humanity in surviving the apocalypse,” the knight explained.
nHis statement just now made Viktor feel curious and interested. After talking with them for a while, knowing how much the world has changed he was more convinced to go straight to the alien construct to satisfy his curiosity.
nThe knight also informed him that their mission, which had brought them all the way to northern Russia, involved tracking down a terrifying witch of the forest. Of course, a topic like this always made his spirit smolder.
nThis was plainly growing increasingly unusual as things started to become weirder and weirder.
nWhen Viktor’s three hours of weakness was over, he decided it was time and quickly excused himself to return to where he had left his friends. After all, he has walked further away from them for the last 3 hours.
nBefore he left the group, the old knight said.
n“Alright, Viktor. I have a feeling that we will meet again, take care”
nFollowing that, the party of twelve quickened their speed toward the northeast, while on the other hand, Viktor made his way back to his companions’ location.
nOn his way to find his friends, Viktor wanted to make sure that he would be safe. This time, he moved sneakingly toward the town, fully focused on the Djinn sensor, so he would not be caught in the same scenario as before.
nBy the time he arrived at the Bank, it was almost dawn as the sunrise started to be seen from the horizon. He was greeted by a worried crowd. Both Eva and Bary were like ducklings who had lost their mother as they quickly ran toward him with an anxious look apparent on their faces.
nThe Swedish Princess also realized they are missing something.
n“Dear, where is Max?”
nAs soon as Eva asked this question, a cloud of blue smoke came, forming into the previous blue husky, giving Viktor yet another difficult time explaining that the dog was a magical creature without mentioning the magic lamp.
nFortunately, having seen Gucci’s weird golden fur and the ability to summon an army of lemmings, he was able to make his magical story far more plausible than he had planned.
nOnce again, Viktor looked at the Djinn with some amenity, thinking of a means to further exploit the Djinn in the future.
nNow that everyone had been able to get out of trouble, Viktor just had notice his surroundings. They were in the bank vault, literally a place where you could find valuable objects
nAll of these pieces of paper, Russian rubles, and US dollars were all worthless.
nViktor was thinking about this when he saw a few opened safety boxes with a lot of jewels inside, boxes full of shiny things.
nThese diamonds and gold.. Could he be able to extract them?
nThere is only one way to discover the truth.
nMetal extraction
n
