Chapter 99 - Hunt

n

n

nViktor returns to Arkhangelsk Town with his first batch of mutated seal pelts. Not only did he manage to reach his daily target easily, but he also returned with an extra point of spirit force and a point of endurance.

nHe did the same thing again the next day, and this time, he managed to kill all 40 seals by noon. However, he was slightly disappointed when the notification showed that he only got a point of spirit force.

n‘Well, I guess it’s better than nothing,’ he thought to himself with a sigh, trying to be more optimistic.

nHowever, the notifications of extra endurance stat points stopped coming even after Viktor killed so many mutated leopard seals.

nIt seemed that he would not get any more stat points after killing 100 creatures from the same species. With this in mind and the fact that he already got all the pelts he needed with half a day left, Victor decided to go hunt a different creature in hopes of getting more stat points.

nThe first creature that came to his mind was the one plenty around him, the mutated penguins.

nHe would have dismissed the idea if it were before, but now that he had his new power and metal suit, he was willing to take more risks.

nHowever, there was no way the yacht would be able to break the thick ice. With no other way, Viktor waited for the drawback duration to run out before walking on the frozen sea.

nCompared to the thick-skinned mutated leopard seals, these black and white creatures were much easier to kill. What was somewhat scary about them was that they came in dozens, with one out of ten being tier 2.

nViktor has quite a hard time since they simultaneously came from all directions, but as long as he stayed careful, he could kill one or two penguins with each of his swings.

nYou have received the spirit energy of Mutated Penguin – Level 22.

nYou have received 1 point in agility.

n“Yes!”-.

nViktor ran around killing dozens of them while continuously dodging, and after killing a hundred, he ended up with a total of 2 points of agility, 2 points of endurance, and 1 point of spirit force.

nNow that the frozen sea had turned into a field of penguin corpses, the air began to reek of blood. This bothered Viktor a bit, especially with his enhanced sense of smell, but he still did his best to solely focus on the mutated penguins.

nAfter hours of hunting, he could feel his movements getting slower from the fatigue. Coincidentally, the penguins also began to run away, jumping into the holes one by one.

n“Go run and cry to your mom! Hahaha!” Viktor shouted and laughed to mock them. Still, he felt somewhat relieved since he was also getting mentally exhausted from having to constantly focus on them.

nHowever, as if fate was slapping him for mocking the penguins, the Djinn, who had been silent for a while, suddenly warned him.

n

n“What! Which direction!?”

nViktor panickedly looked around him, but there was nothing on top of the white frozen sea. What he did notice, though, was how he had gone a little too deep into the middle of the sea from fighting and running around for so long.

n“Oh no!”

nHe had a terrible premonition. Sure enough, the thick ice under his feet began to tremble and slightly crack.

nViktor’s heartbeat quickened, and he immediately paled when a piece of information appeared in his mind.

nMutated Killer Whale – level 90

nMutated creature – Tier 4

nBattle Power – 110

n“What the f**k!!?”

nHe hastily turned to where the tremor came from. In the distance, something akin to a shark fin was rushing at him, crushing the surface of the thick ice like an ice breaker.

nIt did not take a genius to know what to do next.

nRun!!

nHe turned around and quickly cast All Might.

nViktor Romanov

nStrength – 30 (85)

nAgility – 62 (74)

nEndurance – 44 (56)

nBattle Power – 45 (72)

nViktor ran, jumped, and hopped any way he could to get away from the breaking frozen sea chasing behind him.

n<1 mile away.>

n“Fu*k!!!”

n<800 meters away.>

nEven with his 74 points of agility, he was not fast enough compared to that tier 4 fish. But he had no other choice apart from running.

nIf he were to get caught, he would definitely die.

nWhile running for his life, Viktor quickly remember that he still had the bonus stat points he had not added. Without much thought,

n“All 9 points to agility!”

nAgility – 71 (83)

n<600 meters.>

nWith his boosted agility, he ran and ran with his life depending on it.

n“I’m sorry… for killing those cute penguins… please stop chasing me!” Viktor shouted out of desperation.

n<400 meters.>

n“Aah, land!!”

nAt that moment, he was finally getting closer to land. His eyes lit up as energy filled his entire body.

nHe was just a mile away from safe land.

n“Please!!”

n<200 meters.>

nSuddenly, the ice under his feet started to crack. Viktor almost fell, but he managed to keep his balance and quickly jumped away to continue running.

n<100 meters.>

n“Just a little bit more!”

nHe had been running for only three minutes, yet it felt like an eternity.

nBam!! The ice right behind him cracked apart. A massive creature came out of the ice and charged at him.

nIn the last few moments, Viktor put the tier 2 ax into his alien ring and took out the tier 1 shield. The next moment, he immediately hopped to dodge the 3-meter-wide mouth while using his shield to block the charging animal.

nBam!!

nThe shield hit the monster’s sharp teeth. Fortunately, he adjusted his position right when he dodged, allowing him to use the impact force to throw himself a few meters away.

nThe impact caused both of his hands to turn numb and the tier 1 shield to break apart. Alas, he had no time to worry about any of those. Without wasting a moment, Viktor quickly regained his balance and continued to run the last dozen meters, just a dozen more steps

n“I can make it!”

nHowever All of a sudden, the ice under his feet completely broke apart and Viktor fell into the water.

nSeeing the humongous mutated killer whale charging at him was probably the scariest thing he had ever experienced in his entire life.

nHe tried his best to swim up but the metal suit was making it much harder for him to swim. Still, he tried to manage with his strength when a notification came to his mind.

nThe duration of the Divine Art: All Might have run out.

nWith the killer whale coming so near, Viktor’s despair made him want to immediately take off the metal suit restricting his moves and weighing him down.

nHowever, his gut feeling told him not to.

nThe creature did not give him time to think; it instantly crashed at him, and the last thing he saw was the enormous creature snapping him into its mouth.
