nLin Nan brushed him off.

nAfter Fang Lin left, he looked at the time and realized that four hours had passed.

n

n

nHowever, there was some significance in his words. Li Ran had indeed been acting a little unusual.

nShe seemed to be immune to such abnormal happenings and barely displayed any reactions.

nWith that thought, Lin Nan got up and returned to his room. When he entered, Li Ran was still sleeping,

nLin Nan looked at Li Ran’s sleeping face with a gentle expression.

n

n

nThey did not get together simply through a blind date. Both of their families already knew each other. At first, they lived in the capital but Lin Nan was dispatched to Shanghai for work. Coincidentally, Li Ran’s family was there.

nTheir parents arranged for the two of them to meet.

nAfter he returned from their date, he told his father and mother that he was very satisfied with her.

nLi Ran was much more gentle and not as domineering in the earlier days. She also hid her arrogant side quite well.

n

n

nHe took the initiative a few times to keep their conversation going.

nHowever, it was nothing compared to what Li Ran had done!

nThe memories made Lin Nan chuckled. This woman’s personality had not changed. She simply stopped hiding and acting innocent.

nThey got married in a hurry and he only stayed with her for one night. It was not a choice because he had to leave for work. The two of them had not met until now.

nAs Lin Nan was about to speak, there was a knock on the door.

nBefore he could respond, the doorknob was already twisted. It was Fang Lin and he immediately entered.

n

n

nHe panted as he said, “There is a horde of zombies outside and they are heading here. I’ve made an announcement and everyone in this base is barred from exiting.”

nLi Ran was woken up by the noise. She was still in a daze and had no idea what transpired.

nLin Nan quickly picked up a coat and put it on Li Ran. It would be bad if she fell sick. Then, he carried her and walked out of the room.

n“Prepare some supplies. We need to leave before the zombies arrive. I’ll leave the army to you. I’m taking the civilians to the plane.”

n“Alright, but you must return after you’ve found a safe place for them. Communication functions will be limited once we leave this place. Splitting up is a bad idea. We need to stay together to ensure our safety.”

nAfter Fang Lin gave his instructions, Lin Nan nodded in agreement. Then, he went to round up the army.

n“What happened?” asked Li Ran.

nShe saw that she was in Lin Nan’s arms and was being carried by him. Her face turned red and after a brief struggle, she said, “Put me down.”

n

n

n“Okay.”

nLi Ran followed Lin Nan closely. They went to her parent’s room but they were not there.

nIt made Li Ran anxious and she refused to leave without them.

nJust as she was about to start looking for them, the big guy arrived. He wiped the sweat off his forehead.

nThe big guy was panting heavily as he said, “Your parents have already boarded Fang Lin’s plane. Follow me. I’ll bring you there.”

n“Okay.”

nLi Ran quickly nodded and followed him.

nThe whole place was a mess.

nPlanes flew out one by one.

nThere were only three planes in total and the people who boarded them were all soldiers. This made the regular civilians even more terrified.

nLi Ran and a few others were about to board one of the planes, but more people came and they began blocking each other’s paths. None of them managed to get on.

nLin Nan’s expression soured and he hurriedly said, “If all of you keep delaying, none of you will survive.”

n“Why do you get to leave first? We’re powerless. We should be the priority.”

n

n

nThe people were extremely unhappy with the arrangements.

nUpon hearing that, Li Ran quickly explained, “We need to go and protect a safe area. Otherwise, you’ll still be in danger even if you leave this place. Moreover, it’s relatively safer here.”

n
