nThe hospital’s security guard had arrived on the scene.
nThe sound of fighting and yelling in the darkness at night had drawn their attention. The flashlight pointed at the Fat One’s face.
nBlood was oozing out of the deep scratch on his face; a tiny piece of flesh was still hanging loosely off the gaping wound. It looked quite horrific.
nThe scene was too upsetting and shocking for the security guard to handle by themselves. With trembling hands, he immediately called the police.
nHence, three humans, a cat, and a dog, were now being brought to the police station.
n“Big Brother Policeman, he’s the one who started hitting us in the first place!” The Fat One held his wounded face, crying as he filed the complaint. “Not only did he beat us up, but he also made his cat attack us!”
nThus, a rather curious scene was played out in the Donghai City Police Station.
nIt looked like the thugs were the ones that had been badly beaten this time around. They even pleaded with the police for help before anyone else could get a word in edgewise. They accused the actor and his cat of bullying them.
nThe policeman didn’t quite know what to make of all of this.
nThe policeman looked at the Fat One, before subconsciously casting his eyes on Best Actor Fu and his cat. The cat’s eyes were wide and round, even a little wet. He had shrunk into his owner’s embrace, as if he was scared of this strange, new environment.
n“Meow,” the cat called out.
nThe Persian cat’s meow was soft and low, very gentle; it momentarily melted the policeman’s heart. He observed that Fu Sichen was not only clean and tidy, but his face also looked like it belonged to a decent man with integrity.
n“The nerve of some people!” The policeman turned around, feeling angry. “This cat is so small and docile, how could he bite anybody! If you’re going to lie, can’t you even do it properly?!”
n“Ay, no.” The Skinny One got nervous at once. “Big Brother Policeman, this man really did hit us. Look at my swollen eye— that’s where he hit me.”
n“The great Best Actor Fu was just awarded the Most Outstanding Youth Award; how could he beat you up?” Even though the two thugs failed to recognize Fu Sichen, the policeman clearly did. He continued by saying, “While the two of you are off getting in trouble every day, Fu Sichen is going around doing good deeds!”
nAs he was speaking, the policeman turned around to face Fu Sichen, and his tone changed. In a gentle manner, he asked, “Best Actor Fu, you didn’t hit anyone, correct?”
nFu Sichen shook his head earnestly, “I didn’t.”
n“See?” The policeman steeled his face as he looked at the Fat One and the Skinny One. He said in a business-like manner, “He just said that he didn’t hit you guys!”
nThe Fat One and the Skinny One looked at one another.
nCr*p! This officer was completely biased!
n“At that time, my cat had heard the sound of a dog whining.” Fu Sichen followed his lie with the truth, “I was curious, so I went over to take a look. They had the dog with them and were trying to crawl through a dog hole.”
nFu Sichen smiled, “Comrade policeman, you should probably check who this guide dog belongs to.”
nThe moment that Fu Sichen said this, the policeman immediately understood what was going on.
nThe two thugs wanted to hit Fu Sichen because Fu Sichen had discovered that they were stealing the dog. As for their injuries, it was probably a result of fighting amongst themselves over how to best split the loot.
nThe policeman, who was also a self-proclaimed dog-lover, sent out a notice to find the guide dog’s owner. At the same time, he tried to settle the dog down and placed the two thugs in restraints.
nThe two thugs didn’t think that they would end up in this situation. They were almost in tears when they were forced to write a report.
nThis was especially true after the policeman made them recite the “Eight Honors and Eight Shames” conduct code.
nIf this ever got out, they would be a laughing stock amongst their peers. They wouldn’t be able to continue doing this for a living anymore.
nFu Sichen and the cat were both uninjured.
nBefore they left the police station, the policeman even asked Fu Sichen for his autograph; Pei Zhen quickly made sure to leave his paw print behind as well.
nThe paw print was inked with the mud on Pei Zhen’s feet after running through the garden. It had been quite muddy.
nThe policeman was initially going to show off the autograph. But then, he saw the dirty paw print; the stumped look on his face was priceless.
nHmmmph. Pei Zhen wasn’t very happy. That was the autograph of the second generation Best Actor. How ignorant of him!
n“You got dirty again.” Fu Sichen looked at the paw print before adding faintly, “You’ll need to take another bath.”
n
