nIn the end, Pei Zhen was forced to take a bath.
nAfter being bathed and blow-dried, Pei Zhen looked up at the ceiling with an expression of resignation.
n“Don’t you like taking baths?” Fu Sichen found this scene to be rather funny. He stooped down, picked the cat up, and lifted him up high, “Are you tired? Or maybe you’re hungry? Do you want to watch a TV show that your Daddy starred in?”
nPei Zhen thought, who are you calling Daddy? Who wants to be his son!
nPei Zhen couldn’t react in time because he was ranting too much about Fu Sichen in his head; Fu Sichen took his silence as agreement. However, when Fu Sichen got up to turn on the TV, it was still on the channel that was broadcasting the series that Pei Zhen had starred in.
nIt was the police series that propagated the importance of science over superstition. Pei Zhen looked at himself on the television feeling stunned.
n“I ordered some food delivery; it should be coming pretty soon.” Fu Sichen then turned around, and as if remembering something, said, “Dad also asked Wang Youquan to buy you a toy.”
nDad?!
nWhy on earth was he, Pei Zhen, called “Daddy,” and him, the enemy Fu Sichen, called “Dad?!”
nTo be honest, their relationship was getting really complicated. Otherwise, why would an intelligent being such as himself be so lost about the whole situation? By now, all he felt was confused and perplexed over who was who and what was what.
n“Pei Pei.”
nFu Sichen called out to Pei Zhen, disrupting the cat’s train of thought. Pei Zhen looked up, and saw that Fu Sichen was holding a stout rat in one of his hands.
n“Ahhhhh!” Pei Zhen immediately lost his composure as a celebrity, and jumped onto the sofa in fright; his white fur was all puffed up.
nIn a hurry to run away, Pei Zhen lost his footing and fell off of the sofa. He ignored the pain, turned around, and immediately got up again before meowing and frantically scrambling towards the direction of the other room.
nThe only other accessible room in the apartment was Fu Sichen’s bedroom.
nSo, the terrified Pei Zhen found himself dashing into Fu Sichen’s bedroom. He jumped onto Fu Sichen’s bed and buried himself in his sheets. Of course, he didn’t forget to curse throughout this entire process.
nCr*p! Cr*p! Cr*p!
n“*sshole!”
n“Evil Butthead! You did that on purpose, didn’t you?!”
n“Fu Sichen, you bastard! I hate you the most!”
nPei Zhen took in a big gulp of air while swearing and cursing at the same time. But, all Fu Sichen heard, was the pathetic meowing of a cat that had been terrified to the point of exhaustion.
nFu Sichen quickly followed the cat into the bedroom.
n“Pei Pei?”
nThere was a bulge under the blanket, and it was trembling. Fu Sichen walked towards it with uncertainty, before lifting up the blanket to expose the trembling cat, “What’s wrong with you?”
nWhat did he mean what was wrong! This cat was deathly afraid of rats, okay! What a scumbag!
nThe exposed cat looked up, and saw the “rat” in Fu Sichen’s hands all over again.
nThe rat was black all over and rather stout. The minute that Pei Zhen saw it, he could just imagine the sharp squeaking sound that rats made.
n“F*ck!” Pei Zhen meowed weakly, retreating slowly step by step, “Don’t come near me! Fu Sichen! You bastard… Fu Sichen! I’m going to kill you!”
nThe Persian cat kept meowing nervously. Fu Sichen glanced at the “rat” in his hand before taking another look at Pei Zhen. He came to a rather puzzling conclusion.
nHis cat, seemed to be afraid of rats?
nHmmmmm….
nThe Persian cat’s reactions reminded Fu Sichen of Pei Zhen.
nThe Little Brat Pei that he adored was also afraid of rats. Pei Zhen had even found an excuse for his phobia! He said that even Doraemon was scared of rats, so there wasn’t anything embarrassing about him being scared of them too.
nSo now, Fu Sichen was rather curious— was it embarrassing for a cat to be afraid of rats?
n“This rat is fake.” He knew that Pei Zhen couldn’t answer him directly. Fu Sichen put away the cat toy, paused for a moment, and tried his best to comfort him by saying, “Don’t be afraid?”
