nBear-san. Talking with Blitz and the Others
nThe day after returning from the land of fairies, Blitz and the others still have not woken up.
nAccording to Primme and Ronne, the effect of the fairy sleeping powder should have worn off, so we decided to wait until they woke up normally.
nThere was nothing much to do, so we ate potato chips, drank fruit juice, and played with Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, who had turned into cubs. I was full of energy.
nWhile I was thinking about what to eat for lunch, Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear made a “kuu~n” and looked up.
nIt seemed they had woken up.
nI went up the stairs and opened the door to the room on the second floor where Blitz and the others were sleeping.
nOriginally, the room had only two beds, but I added extra beds for a total of four beds in a row.
nIt was Rosa-san who first got up from the bed.
n“Rosa-san, good morning.” (Yuna)
n“Yuna-chan? Have I been sleeping until now?” (Rosa)
nWell, it was mostly because of the fairy sleeping powder.
n“…Rosa.” (Blitz)
nBlitz woke up at the sound of our voice.
nRan and Grimos woke up as well.
n“Where is this place?” (Ran)
nBlitz and the others looked around the room.
n“This is my house in Crimonia.” (Yuna)
n“We’re back?” (Ran) freewebnσvel.cm
nRan got out of bed and moved to the window, followed by Rosa-san and the others.
n“Are you sure?” (Ran)
n“I haven’t checked yet.” (Rosa)
nI don’t think they could tell where they were just by looking out the window.
n“You will find out when we go outside. But first, aren’t you guys hungry? It’s almost noon.” (Yuna)
nThe Blitz and the others had slept almost the entire day, so they had not eaten.
n“We slept that much?” (Blitz)
nWe moved downstairs, leaving the details for later.
nI quickly put away the chips and other snacks I was about to eat and started preparing lunch.
n“Do you need any help, Yuna?” (Rosa)
n“Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear!” (Ran)
n“”Kuu~n.””
n“Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, thank you for welcoming us.” (Rosa)
nSaid Rosa-san and Ran while petting Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.
n“So, this really is Crimonia, huh?” (Blitz)
n“Yes.” (Yuna)
n“I see, Yuna, thank you.” (Blitz)
nThe four of them look relieved.
nThey were relieved to be back.
n“So, why were we sleeping?” (Blitz)
n“As I recall, the location of the home of the fairies and how they move around was a secret, so we had to cover our eyes.” (Rosa)
n“We covered our eyes, and then we started to get sleepy.” (Blitz)
n“That’s right. I tried to resist it.” (Rosa)
n“But you all ended up sleeping.” (Yuna)
n“All together?” (Blitz)
nEveryone seemed to be puzzled.
n“Sorry, I asked Primme and Ronne to put some fairy sleeping powder on everyone. You guys fell asleep because of it.” (Yuna)
nI told them honestly and apologized.
nI knew that if they stayed awake, there was a chance they would notice the Bear Transfer Gate, so using sleeping power completely eliminated that possibility.
n“No, don’t worry about it. That was your promise to Primme and the others, wasn’t it?” (Blitz)
n“Yes, it was. I am just grateful to be back.” (Rosa)
n“Ugh, I wish I knew how you were able to get back here.” (Ran)
n“Thank you, Yuna.” (Grimos)
nEach of the four expressed their feelings in their own way.
nI was glad to make them fall asleep when I heard what one of them said.
n“So, where are Primme-chan and the others?” (Blitz)
n“They went home. They told me to inform you guys that they are thankful.” (Yuna)
n“Yes, I’m glad to hear that Primme-chan and the others made it back safely.” (Yuna)
nPrimme was back in the fairy forest with Ronne, and Blitz and the others were back in Crimonia. I could keep my secret, and Noa was returned safely to Cliff.
nDespite everything that had happened, I was glad to see everyone back in one piece.
n“So, Yuna, I want to thank you once again.” (Blitz)
n“You don’t have to thank me. Blitz and the others kept their word and helped us to save Ronne.” (Yuna)
nBlitz and the others helped me save Ronne and even killed Bellung so that I didn’t have to do it myself.
nConsidering that, it was not something I deserved to be thanked for.
nSo I politely declined.
nBut Blitz said, “Please let me know next time you have a problem. I will help you as much as I can.”
nI accepted his words gladly, and we finished discussing this matter and ate lunch.
nBlitz and the others finished their lunch and discussed their plans when Noa visited. Did she slip out of her house to check on their situation?
n“I’ve asked my father for permission, and he has given me some time.” (Noa)
n“I see that Noire-chan is back safe and sound.” (Blitz)
n“Yes, and I’ve come to ask a favor from Blitz-san and the others.” (Noa)
n“A favor from us?” (Blitz)
n“I told father about the Blitz-san and the others, and he wanted to talk to your group.” (Noa)
n“Who’s Noire-chan’s father?” (Ran)
n“The Lord of this town, I think…” (Rosa)
n“Yes, my father is Cliff Foschurose, Lord of this town.” (Noa)
nNoa replied politely.
n“Blitz, what are you going to do?” (Rosa)
n“Are you going?” (Ran)
n“…” (Grimos)
nThe three of Blitz’s party members looked at him.
n“Well, I don’t think I can refuse.” (Blitz)
nI was reminded of myself in the past.
nI remember when I was invited to Cliff’s house, and I didn’t want to go.
nSo I offered them a helping hand, just as the Guild Master had told me to do then.
n“Cliff is a decent noble among the nobles I know, so it will be alright.” (Yuna)
n“Yuna-san, by ‘decent’ do you mean…?” (Noa)

nNoa’s expression turned sullen at my words.
nWell, being told that their father was a “decent” person would not sound like a compliment to any children.
n“Well, compared to the toad noble I met at Misa’s birthday party, he is extraordinary, and I’m sure that he has been a good father to you. And then there was the nobleman who tried to get Shia to marry his son…” (Yuna)
nThere was also an outrageous nobleman who had captured a fairy.
nMisa’s parents and grandfather, Gran-san were good nobles.
nThere were good nobles and evil nobles among the nobility.
n“Please don’t compare Father to those nobles.” (Noa)
nNoa puffed out her cheeks a little as she refuted me.
n“Well, there are some outrageous nobles, but Noa’s father doesn’t do anything unreasonable, so I mean it’s okay.” (Yuna)
nIt was undoubtedly rude to compare those aristocrats to Cliff.
n“Yes, I didn’t hear anything bad about him in Mileela either.” (Blitz)
n“Yes, you’re right. I think the townspeople had more positive things to say about him, as well.” (Rosa)
nThere may have been a small amount of criticism. Some residents claimed that Cliff had made the town noisier, but they preferred a quiet town. It took a lot of work to get a favorable opinion from everyone.
n“Atora-san said he was a nice guy, as well.” (Ran)
n“…” (Grimos)
n“Shall we go?” (Blitz)
nBlitz and the others seem determined to meet Cliff.
n“If he tries to be unreasonable, just mention my name, and you’ll be fine, Cliff owes me a favor.” (Yuna)
n“Yuna-chan calls the Lord by his name…” (Rosa)
n“I can’t believe it.” (Ran)
nThey were more interested in how I called Cliff by his name than in the fact that he owed me a favor.
nBlitz and the others looked at me with stunned eyes.
nSometimes, even though I thought I should be more polite with my words, I still spoke the usual way.
n“Only Yuna-san would call Father like that. But Father has never been angry with it, so it’s all right.” (Noa)
n“Why don’t Blitz and the others try calling him that way as well?” (Yuna)
n“No, I don’t think so.” (Blitz)
n“No, I can’t.” (Rosa)
n“No.” (Ran)
n“…” (Grimos)
nLastly, Grimos shook her head in silence.
nAfter all, it seemed unusual to call Cliff, a noble and Lord, by his first name. However, I did not intend to change how I address him now.
nThe four of them thanked me at the end and left with Noa.
nI spent the day relaxing with Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.
nPeace was the best, after all.
n…
nThis was a story that happened a while after I came back to Crimonia. I went to check on the town where Ronne had been held captive.
nThe town was back to normal.
nThe residents, whose faces had been dim, were smiling and seemed to have regained their normal lives.
nThe new Lord was the third son of a distant relative, and he was working hard.
nThe Guild Master told me that the new Lord had been lamenting during his work, saying, “Why me, the third son”.
nHe might have ended up with the short end of the stick and was chosen to be the new Lord which he found troublesome.
nBut he was an earnest person at heart, and he worked hard.
nThen, Blitz and the others were treated as heroes.
nEveryone was praising them. I saw a picture of Blitz for sale, so I bought it.
nWhen I showed it to Blitz later, he tried to tear it up, while Rosa-san and Ran wanted it. But I only gave it to Grimos, and she seemed a little happy and put it away in her item bag.
nWhen Rosa-san and Ran saw that, they said it was unfair and asked me to buy one for them with their money, but I politely refused.
nIf they wanted pictures, they could have asked an artist to paint a picture for them. There was no need for me to go all the way to that town to buy them.
nAlso, no one in that town knew that it was me who fought the previous Lord. The only people who knew about my fight were those associated with the Adventurers’ Guild.
nWhen I arrived at the Adventurers’ Guild, I was welcomed by the Guild Master and the receptionists. The adventurers in the corner knew who I was.
nAnd, by the consensus of the entire Adventurers’ Guild, “something” had been made.
nIt was a stone statue of a bear.
nA stone statue of a bear had been placed in the Adventurers’ Guild training centre.
nHe also mentioned that the bear’s image would be passed down as the true hero of that event inside the Adventurers’ Guild.
nI thought about destroying the bear statue for a moment, but I could not do so because there were two fairies on top of the statue.
nBecause of obvious reasons, fairies were detested in this town. But I hope that the Adventurers’ Guild will acknowledge them and start to like them.
nAnd when I told Noa, who was probably wondering about the town, she seemed happy.
nBut she also complained that I should have taken her with me.
nWell, Noa knew about Bear Transfer Gate, so I might as well take her there next time.
