Chapter 133

A month later…

Shen Yi replaced his teacup back to its saucer as he swallowed the remaining tea. The gentle breeze of the afternoon had played with his locks and pushed them out from his face. He never intended to bring work home, but the sudden visit of Mr. Lian to his house had ruined his and Lu Xinyi’s plans for today.

His cold expression didn’t deter a potential business partner to chat nonsense about trivial things. His hands came folded on his lap as he tried desperately not to snap at this man.

It didn’t help that Mr. Lian’s new wife kept giving him a headache with her flirty smile and remarks. From what he’d heard from Mr. Lian, this woman was a former model from a foreign country.

Shen Yi snorted inwardly when the woman leaned forward and tried to show off her busty chest to him as she giggled and winked shamelessly at him. -.

That cup size that she had… he wondered how could she not die from its massive size and weight while sleeping. Was she able to sleep on her back with all the weight it had? Could she even run on a treadmill without anything getting in the way?

Ah, this was why he prefer Lu Xinyi’s chest size. Perhaps the Pancake Day was made just for flat-chested women like her, but Shen Yi didn’t dare to voice it out in fear that he would greatly pay for his mischief.

Shen Yi straightened up and ignored the woman. He scowled when she flipped her head backward and lifted her face up briefly.

“President Shen? Is there something the matter?” Mr. Lian asked when he noticed Shen Yi wasn’t paying attention to their conversation.

Shen Yi turned his attention back to his visitor and forced to keep his face calm and collected, although his crinkled nose was being tortured by the strong perfume of Madam Lian.

“No, of course not. I just remembered something. My apologies, Mr. Lian.”

“Well, as I was saying—”

The twins chose that time to interrupt Mr. Lian from his babblings. Shen Yuyan laughed as she was chased by her brother, and the two dogs were barking and jumping around the children.

“Who are they?” Mr. Lian asked, but Shen Yi didn’t have the time to explain when his wife came with a tray, bringing snacks and sweet desserts for his visitors.

“Kids! Be careful not to break anything! Zhichen, look after your sister!” Lu Xinyi yelled at the twins.

“Yes, Mommy Xinxin!” Shen Zhichen stopped running to respond to her.

Shen Yi and Lu Xinyi had started to file an appeal to the court to grant them the rights to officially adopt the twins as their own. Unfortunately, their bastard of a father had been asking a hefty amount from them.

Going back to the present, Shen Yi and Mr. Lian were silent as she placed the plate on the table, while Madam Lian’s brows contorted into a scowl when she saw Shen Yi relaxed and his gaze softened as he stared at Lu Xinyi.

Lu Xinyi arched a brow the Madam Lian’s reaction. Taking a quick look at her husband’s sour mood with the slight twitch of his lips, it dawned to her what was happening in this business meeting.

A plan had crossed her mind. Lu Xinyi ran a hand sensually at her husband’s arm, up to his shoulder before moving to cup of his cheeks. She slyly gave Madam Lian a mocking look as she whispered words to Shen Yi’s ear with a cheeky grin. Shen Yi hummed, his lips curling at something she had said.

“I thought it was just rumors, but I see that you actually got a woman. How long have you hiding this beauty all to yourself?” Mr. Lian commented, his lips curling into a sinister smile. Shen Yi’s jaw clenched as he followed the other man’s eyes.

Mr. Lian looked at Lu Xinyi as if she was kind of jewel he had to possess. He had seen the articles about Shen Yi taking an unknown woman with him during the annual charity gala the Shen family hosted, but no one was able to provide the identity of her.

“My private life has nothing to do with our business matters.” Shen Yi pointed out. He should have known not to welcome this man in his house.

“Ah, but isn’t she quite a beauty? I now know your preference on women. She’s got a pretty face, and I’m sure her body isn’t half bad when she’s warming your bed.” Mr. Lian commented, leaning his back to his seat.

Shen Yi felt the urge to punch his face for the disrespect he was showing his wife. Lu Xinyi, who should have thrown insults by now, seemed not offended by Mr.Lian’s words. How sad that she and Shen Yi couldn’t announce their marriage into the public.

“I assure you, Mr. Lian, President Shen only got the best and deserve the best above the rest. If I couldn’t please him, I’m sure you know what will happen if I offend him.” Lu Xinyi forced a smile. She stood behind her husband and kept her hand on his shoulder. Shen Yi lifted up his hand to hold it. He could feel her tensing behind him.

“Of course, you are right.” Mr. Lian laughed awkwardly getting the warning hint from Lu Xinyi’s tone.
