Chapter 78

nArdgan was a vast and vivid city. Arthur went there looking for a magic array for his school.

nThe people yelled in the streets, selling many goodies. A magic array was a rare and expensive item. It wouldn’t be found there.

nArthur passed by the streets, and looked for something like a treasure store where rare things were sold.

nHe did not know if something like that existed in Ardgan, but for his luck, it did. A marble building with 4 floors with a guard standing in front of it, acting as a defense.

nThe most impressive thing was the level of that guard, 40. It was understandable considering the amount of expensive items inside that store.

nArthur walked towards it, and the guard stopped him, just like he expected.

n“Holt! If you want to enter, you need to pay a fee of 1 gold.”

nWithout even questioning, Arthur opened up his magic poach and tossed the coin, and then walked to the building.

nThe guard grabbed it and let him pass. A person had to pay to enter inside a place where they would have to pay for the items. Arthur was glad he was rich.

nOnce inside, there was a lady ready to talk with any potential client that went in. Arthur scanned around and saw many items on display, and most were things he never seen before.

n“Hello, sir. What can I do to help?” The lady said.

nArthur was did not want to waste time, so we went directly into what mattered.

n“Do you have any defensive magical arrays here? Strong, preferably.” Arthur said, returning his gaze from the displays to the lady’s eyes.

nHe wanted something strong enough to fend for the monsters from the dungeon. Arthur hoped the place was trustworthy and they wouldn’t scam him selling a useless item.

n“Our magic arrays are on the second floor. Follow me, sir.” The lady said. She was pretty and wore a clothing similar to a maid.

nThe first floor of the building mostly had weapons on display, like swords, spears, dagger, bows, and other items Arthur could not tell it was a weapon just by looking at it.

nThe second floor was different. It had scrolls, staffs, and talisman. Most of the items there were enchanted.

n“We have this scroll here. That is a defense array. The scroll is the main part where you should place in the middle of the perimeter you want to protect, and then channel your mana into it. The range is 3 km.”

nThe lady kept explaining most of the defensive arrays, their range, and how protective they were.

nOne of them caught Arthur’s attention. It was said to fend against even wyverns. Arthur did not know if it was true, but the place seemed to be trustworthy, and if it was a scam, the place would have been closed a long time ago.

nHe not only bought the magic array, but Arthur also put some of his items into sale. The lady said an auction would take place in 6 months, and that his items would be placed there.

nArthur had many items he got from his adventures, and why not put them into sale? The most expensive item seemed to be a dagger ornamented with gold, and it had a red gemstone in it.

nThe attendant had never seen something like that, and she was sure it would fetch a good price.

n“Our auction house will take only 8% of the items’ value. Sounds fair to you?”

n“It does.”

n8% was not that much, considering Arthur would sell the items for way higher than he could on his own. So it was profit for him.

nHe bought the magical array, put the items in the auction house, and left the building.

n“Sully, can you hear me?”

n“Unfortunately… I mean, what is it?”

n“Meet me where we landed. I already bought the array, so we should get back.”

n“You know I need some time to rest after flying for 2 days straight.”

n“Oh, I forgot about that. Where are you now?”

n“Inside a cave. Just hunted something to eat.”

n“Okay. I’ll meet you.”

nArthur had to wait at least one day for Sully to rest, as he flew 2 days straight without sleeping.

nSully explained to him mentally where the cave was, but before Arthur could find it, a group of men came out of the bushes and stopped him.

n“Look what we have here. A rich stupid youth.”

nArthur gazed at the group of men, all had weapons and wore leather armor, exactly like bandits.

n“Me? Rich? I wish. I’m searching for a cave to sleep in because I have no money to rent a room.”

n“Bull**. We just saw you leaving that rich people building, and the lady was all smiles, which meant you bought something expensive there.”

nIt turned out these men were spying on him since he left the building. Arthur did not notice it inside the city as they were too many people that was almost impossible. He had just left the city, and they showed up.

n“Look, I can see you are all bandits, so if you die, no one will miss your useless lives. But I’m not in the mood for killing today, so please leave.”

nThe bandits all looked at each other and laughed.

n“Are you so scared that you are spitting non sense? Hahaha, stop with this bull**.”

nArthur sighed and went to a killing he did not intend to. The first bandit, who was just 3 meters away from him, was shocked to see Arthur disappearing and appearing right in front of him.

nWith one slap, the man was headless, and a stream of blood came out from the open spot above his shoulders.

nThe man fell, and his body still moved, unwilling to accept death.

nAs for the others, they also did not stand a chance, and died with one move from Arthur.

n“Fighting against these weak humans is not that fun anymore.”

n
