Chapter 79

nThe bandits did not last against Arthur, and they all perished. Arthur did not even bother to look for their belongings, as they were surely poor.

n“Sully, I had to deal with some bandits on the way. I’m going now.”

n“Okay.”

nArthur left their corpses there and went looking for the cave Sully was staying. It did not take that long, and soon that huge wyvern was in Arthur’s sight.

nSully had hunted a few beasts around the island, but he was waiting for Arthur to come and cook them.

n“Arthur, you need to teach me how to breathe fire, please!”

n“In the future, yes.”

nArthur grabbed a few rocks around the cave, and some fuel from the trees outside to build a fire.

nHe used his fire breath to light the campfire and talked with Sully while cleaning the beasts’ meat.

n“Hey, Sully. Do you know about any beast that can withstand the power of a wyvern bloodline?”

n“Oh, why would you want that?”

n“I want to give Kai a tamed beast in the future. A wyvern friend for him, too.”

n“Cute, but I’m not your wyvern friend.”

n“Really? Then I’ll cook this delicious meet only for me…”

n“‘N-no. I’m your friend for today. How does it sound?”

nArthur laughed and kept making their food.

nSully did not know many beasts, as he spent most of his life trapped inside that laboratory, so Arthur would have to find a powerful beast on his own.

nHe planned on giving it to Kai only in the far future, so it was not a problem for the time being.

n“Did you get a decent magic array?”

nArthur looked at Sully and said, “it is supposed to hold even the attack of wyverns. You can test it out when he returns.”

n“Really? I’ll, I’ll.”

nThey ate delicious meat from a beast. Arthur did not know what it was. Arthur cooked it using his fire breath, and it turned out to be tasty.

nSully loved it, as he usually ate raw food.

n“One day of resting is enough for you?”

n“It is, yes. Speaking of which, I need to sleep now.”

nSully could not take anymore, and went to sleep after eating.

nArthur still had energy, as he slept during the trip.

n“What should I do now? There isn’t anything interesting in this town, at least not something I can do for one day.”

nHe thought about going into a nightclub, but Arthur was more focused on getting his wives now. Times changed.

nWhile he was there, inside the cave thinking about what to do, someone else was looking for him.

nIt was a man wearing a leather armor, with a cape made of fur from a magic beast.

n“This is the last place they were seen?” The man asked.

n“Yes, they were supposed to follow someone out of the city. They went that direction.”

nThe person the man was talking to pointed toward Arthur went.

n“I see.”

nIf Arthur was there, he would see the level of that mysterious character, 60. Someone that was strong, and clearly not happy.

nThe man walked out of the city and saw footprints on the muddy road, which could be from his comrades. He kept walking until he found what he was looking for.

nA pile of bodies, all of them with missing parts. It was disgusting, and even he could not believe a human did that.

n“Who the hell did they follow to end up like this? Should I keep searching?” He did not know if the killer was stronger than him, and maybe he could end up dead.

n“No, I should try to get more information about him inside that treasure house first.”

nThe man left, returning to the city. He was not the type of person to die out of stupidity.

nArthur did not know any of that, and was chilling inside the cave. He noticed it was still afternoon, so Arthur took that opportunity to absorb some sunlight to improve his skill.

nIt was taking him a long time to reach the next threshold, but there was nothing he could do to fasten the process. At least he did not know yet.

nHe stayed there as long as he could, and when the sunset, he returned to the cave to sleep alongside Sully.

nThe mysterious man that was looking for him did not show up, and Arthur wouldn’t even meet him, at least not for now.

n“Wake up Sully, we have to go.”

nArthur had to kick Sully, or else that lazy wyvern would never wake up.

n“Huh, what? Why are you waking me up so early?”

n“Let’s go, or I’ll kick your ass.”

nThe dinner with Wisa was close, so Arthur could not lose time. For that reason, he had to pressure Sully.

n“Okay, okay, but I’ll rest for a week once we got there.”

n“Fine.”

nThey got out of the cave and left, flying into the sky.

nThe trip back was the same, with Sully stopping to eat from time to time, and Arthur eating the food he brought, and sleeping while flying.

nBut something unexpected happened that time. They were flying above the ocean, and Arthur glanced at a ship that was passing.

nThere was a person he knew inside the ship, and that was Captain Jack.

n“Let’s head down and say hi to Jack.”

n“Jack? Who’s that?”

nSully was only an egg when they met, so it was understandable he did not know who Jack was.

nArthur explained it to him briefly, and Sully got a good impression of Jack.

n“He seems like a good kid. All right, hold tight.”

nSully dashed down, going directly towards the ship.

nJack and his crew saw that enormous beast flying and were preparing for battle.

n“A flying beast, watch out, prepare to engage.”

nBut as Sully got closer, Jack saw who was the person riding the beast.

n“Hold on, don’t attack.”

nThe more Jack looked, the more he could not believe it.

n“No way he’s riding that. Bad ass mother**er.”

n
