nIn the Lu family’s living room.
nThey were seated around two big dining tables as they ate.
nAs the host, Lu Manman toasted them one by one.
nWen Yun stayed by Lu Manman’s side throughout. Even though they weren’t officially married yet, he was already regarded as half a member of the Lu family.
nLu Manman maintained her smile the entire time, looking very generous.
nEveryone in Wen City knew that Lu Manman was gentle, elegant, sensible, and even peerlessly beautiful. She was hailed as the most perfect woman to appear in Wen City after hundreds of years in terms of looks and talent. But what many people did not know was that Lu Manman seemed to restrain herself in front of Old Master Lu just so that she could set off by contrast to Lu Xuanran’s outstanding self.
nEverything that happened in her previous life made Lu Manman laugh.
nEven if she had not done it on purpose, what was Lu Xuanran considered? Did he really think that everyone in Wen City was an idiot?!
nShe would never submit to him again!
n“It’s time for Manman and Wen Yun’s toast after we’re done with Old Master Lu’s birthday. I’d like to congratulate you in advance,” Di Yi’s father, Di Hong, said as he raised his glass.
nLu Zishan smiled. “I hope you can be a part of it at that time. It’ll be Di Yi and Xiao Xin’s turn soon. Good news is really endless.”
n“It’s rare to see Wen City so lively,” Di Hong said with a smile.
nLu Zishan smiled and nodded. “Cheers.”
n“Cheers.” Everyone at the table stood up.
nThe Mo Family members were seated at the table as well. Mo Yuanxiu raised his glass and even clinked it against Lu Manman’s on purpose.
nLu Manman’s eyes flickered.
nWen Yun seemed to notice this and turned to look at Mo Yuanxiu.
nMo Yuanxiu looked up and smiled calmly.
nWen Yun’s expression changed slightly, but he did not show much emotion.
nWen Yun’s tolerance was not something that an ordinary person could achieve, so this little episode did not cause much of a stir.
nAfter the toast, Lu Manman’s family sat down at the two huge dining tables.
nLu Manman naturally sat with Wen Yun.
nMo Yuanxiu sat beside Wen Yun, along with the rest of the Mo Family. Gu Xin sat beside Lu Manman, and next to her were Di Yi, Di An, and the rest of the Di Family, including Jiang Yiyao.
nEveryone ate quietly.
nThis was how upper-class banquets were like, with the guests behaving in a reserved manner. Countless delicacies filled the dining table, but only a few people picked up their chopsticks. The entire dining table appeared to be very clean.
n“I heard that Young Master Wen and Miss Lu are getting married,” Mo Yuanxiu suddenly said.
nThe quiet banquet seemed to have some noise.
n“It’s on the twenty-eighth of this month. Thank you for your concern, Young Master Mo,” Wen Yun answered generously.
n“Then, I wish you both a happy marriage in advance.” Mo Yuanxiu raised his glass.
nWen Yun despised drinking with Mo Yuanxiu, but he could not reject such an occasion as it would be rude. In the end, he picked up his glass and toasted Mo Yuanxiu.
nMo Yuanxiu turned to the side, leaving Wen Yun’s hand awkwardly swaying in the air.
nHow rude…
nWen Yun’s expression changed slightly again.
nMo Yuanxiu smiled. “I meant to toast the both of you. Miss Lu, aren’t you going to raise your glass?”
nLu Manman glared at Mo Yuanxiu.
nCould this man just behave for a second?!
nToday was a crucial day for her, and she did not want anything to disrupt her plans.
n“What?” Mo Yuanxiu looked up. “Is Miss Lu not good with alcohol? It’s alright. You can have some tea and let Young Master Wen have a drink or two.”
n
