n“I’ll have both glasses. Manman doesn’t drink.” Wen Yun directly took the drink in front of Lu Manman, extremely protective.
nMo Yuanxiu smiled and glanced at Lu Manman.
nThe Lu Manman of the past would have been touched by how protective Wen Yun was of her. But now, she was simply rendered speechless by how disgusting she found it. She was about to take her glass back when an idea struck her, and she looked up at Mo Yuanxiu.
nThere was a hidden intention in Mo Yuanxiu’s eyes.
nDid this man enjoy such psychological warfare?!
nLu Manman’s sweet voice was extremely gentle as she cooed, “Yun, don’t get drunk.”
nWhat she meant was that she had agreed to let him drink on her behalf.
n“Don’t worry.” Wen Yun was also extremely gentle.
nMo Yuanxiu nonchalantly picked up his glass and clinked it with Wen Yun’s.
nHe downed his glass of red wine.
nWen Yun had no choice but to empty his glass.
nUpon seeing Mo Yuanxiu’s discreet smile, Lu Manman harbored suspicions that he was scheming something.
nAs expected, Di Yi took the initiative to drink with her.
nWen Yun had already started with two glasses of wine, so the rest would naturally follow suit. This was a tradition passed down from the previous generations. Wen Yun drank one glass after another on Lu Manman’s behalf, eventually feeling a little tipsy.
nJiang Yiyao was the last to raise her glass.
nLu Manman really could not understand why Wen Yun would like a woman like Jiang Yiyao. She had no idea how to read between the lines at all! Did she not understand how difficult it was for Wen Yun?!
nWen Yun had no choice but to drink another glass.
nWhile drinking, he glanced at Jiang Yiyao’s innocent-looking face.
nHaving kept a close eye on him, Lu Manman and Mo Yuanxiu naturally noticed it.
nIt was obvious to the both of them.
nThe lunch banquet ended.
nWen Yun really had a little too much to drink, but he persisted in maintaining his image. He helped Lu Manman entertain the guests from the other families. They played cards, drank tea, and fished, each enjoying their leisurely time.
nFinally, everything ended.
nLu Manman and Wen Yun sat down on the reclining chairs by the lake. Wen Yun could not take it anymore and closed his eyes to rest.
nLu Manman was feeding the fishes by the lake when she caught sight of Jiang Yiyao, who was sitting in the middle of a pavilion across from them. Upon seeing her smile obediently, Lu Manman kept stealing glances in her direction.
nIt was not hard to anger a woman.
nLu Manman suddenly left her reclining chair and walked toward Wen Yun, full of concern. “Do you feel very uncomfortable?”
n“It’s alright.” Wen Yun opened his eyes gently.
nLu Manman touched his cheek that was burning hot from the alcohol before planting a kiss on his lips.
nWen Yun was first stunned, and then he smiled.
nLu Manman smiled back shyly and got ready to leave.
nAt that moment, a pair of slender hands suddenly grabbed the back of her head. With a pull, their lips met again, and their tongues intertwined passionately.
nLu Manman tried to resist.
nHer body rejected him, but she still tolerated Wen Yun’s attacks.
nDrunk men tended to lose control more than usual.
nLu Manman silently suppressed her emotions.
nHer heart had been moved in the past, but what remained now was only disappointment.
nA while later, they finally parted, both panting heavily.
nWen Yun let go of Lu Manman and smiled gently as he wiped her lips. “You taste very sweet.”
nLu Manman smiled shyly.
nShe felt so shy but also so cold.
nShe suddenly wanted to stop this superficial game with Wen Yun. It was disgusting.
nControlling her emotions, she smiled at him and said, “Wen Yun, rest for a while. I’ll go take care of the other guests.”
n“Mm-hm.” Wen Yun did not take the initiative to join her this time. He was probably really drunk.
nLu Manman got up and looked at Jiang Yiyao.
nFrom afar, Jiang Yiyao’s face was practically red. When she saw Lu Manman’s gaze, she looked away suddenly, making her face seem a little distorted.
nLu Manman sneered and was ready to leave.
nWhen she left, she coldly glanced past the back figure of a man.
nShe bit her lip and suppressed the indescribable feeling in her heart.
nTake a deep breath.
nIt was just a marriage in name anyway.
n
