Chapter 76 - HISSSS! HISSSS! HISSSS!

Woof! Woof!

Qin Hua barked loudly and began casting another chaos ball. Now that everyone was awake, she wanted them to fight and she was going to throw the first punch.

But unfortunately, along with raising everyone's morale, she had also earned the attention of the monstrous beasts. All four snakes immediately turned their gazes towards her.

Chaos Ball took a couple of seconds to manifest but she didn't have that luxury right now. Before she could even take another breath, all the four snakes simultaneously struck down where she was standing.

Qin Hua pushed Lu Chen away and she as well ducked into a nearby shadow running the hell away from there.

It looked like she would no longer be able to cast spells. The role of keeping these beasts occupied had inevitably fallen on her.

But she didn't care. Except for Bing Che, she was the fastest in the group and she even had something he didn't have.

Qin Hua bounced in and out of shadows, hiding within them whenever the snakes got too close to her.

She was like a blur of darkness that flickered in and out, making the snakes twist their bodies around.

You want me bitches? Do you want my tasty meat? Come get me! Woof!

Meanwhile, Lu Chen did not remain idle any longer. He could see what little white was trying to do and he immediately coordinated with her.

Three thick and long spears of ice materialized near them and they shot out at the snake closest to him.

After seeing this, Guan Ye and Alex also rushed over to the thick trunk of the snake, at the spot where it was protruding from the hole in the ground, and started slashing at it with their daggers.

Lu Chen coordinated with them and hit the snake at the same spot, the three of them gradually piercing through its thick hardened scales little by little.

The snake hissed in pain, about to take care of the pests that were bothering it but Qin Hua once again let out another Majestic Growl and its attention was back on her.

Leech Bite

Rip

Maul

Qin Hua as well managed to land a couple of hits at the same spot. She lifted her paw and tossed her chain with the two lockets towards Lu Chen, before bouncing off once again away from the others.

Since she had the full attention of the four snakes, she made sure to not go anywhere near the others.

Her head was much bigger than Lu Chen's so the chain accurately fell on him, around his neck, its length awkwardly hanging on his shoulder and dropping till his stomach.

Before he could even comprehend what just happened, the second the lockets touched him, Lu Chen felt a wave of energy sweep through his body, filling up his drained mana reserves.

And now he finally understood the point of these lockets!

"Damn it. I am just a burden to you, aren't I?

" Lu Chen smiled bitterly. His eyes grew even more resolute as he took a deep breath and conjured another set of ice spears.

These were much thicker and much sharper, their tips glinting their cold steel and when they clashed against the sturdy hardened scales of the snake which had already been repeatedly slashed by the other two, the attacks went in, a bunch of scales cracking and breaking apart.

Everyone heard the sound and looked at the small victory in euphoria.

By now a group of the crowd had started shooting at one of the snakes with the rifles. Mo Ling lead this group and they targeted the boa which was to their south.

Lu Chen, Guan Ye, and Alex were fighting the one on the northern edge of the square.

Bing Che and the group of fighters of the second group gathered around and slashed at the boa on the eastern corner.

Observing the actions of these three groups, a bunch of other men and women started attacking the third snake with whatever tool they had in their hands, kitchen knife or garden spade.

But this group was mostly ineffective as they were not evolved humans and did not possess a lot of strength.

Qin Hua grinned. It looked like the tides were finally changing in their direction. She sucked in a big breath of air and continued running around, keeping the snakes fully occupied with her.

She knew that her role was the most crucial one and even if she slipped up slightly, everyone would lose their lives in an instant.

The four boas looked extremely enraged and agitated. They were being played around by a small black dog which was nothing more than a weak little puppy in front of them.

They knew that if they just got one attack in, she would instantly die, but yet they weren't able to land that single attack.

Without finishing her off first, they couldn't even pay attention to the other pests who were chipping away at their scales.

HISSSS! HISSSS! HISSSS!

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

The air in the stadium reverberated with the loud angry hisses of the snakes, the small explosive blasts from the rifles, and the clattering sounds of the bullet casings.

Dust and rubble flew everywhere.

Qin Hua picked up her pace and ran for her life. She repeatedly activated Dash and Blending into Darkness and evaded the snakes as they hissed and struck at her blurry figure.

She managed to make sure that none of the attacks fully landed on her, but some still slipped past and grazed her body.

Just as the different groups were chiseling down the snakes' defense, Qin Hua's health was also dropping bit by bit.

She was getting the upticks from the Leech Bite which she had now managed to activate on all four boas but the expenditure was far greater than the income.

Her stamina was as well plummeting with every second.

Damn it! Can I hold on until they grind down these monsters?
