Chapter 1364 The New Godking

The death of the Godking came as a shock to every single individual in the City of Caminar. No one believed it, but even after the whole day passed, no other news came out at all.’

Meanwhile, Ning started doing the best he could to make the best of the situation. He didn’t want to stay on the planet for that long and instead go kill some more Constellations, but he couldn’t leave it in turmoil.

So, starting that very day, he was the new Godking of the entire world. And he started his reign by making a bunch of new rules that would aid the people of this world.

Ning walked into a room full of people gathered specifically upon his request.

The number of people in that room crossed 50, and not all of them had any places to sit, so most remained standing.

The woman who had attacked Ning when he arrived had started bowing to Ning, along with two of her fighters that she had brought along.

The other people in the room weren’t yet accustomed to the presence of the new Godking but they bowed too. There was a chance that their Godking was still alive and this man was just someone who had taken the opportunity to take his place for a day or two.

However, that was a chance. Meanwhile, the man in front of them being their current Godking was a fact. If they disrespected him, they would most definitely have to part with their fates.

It was unsure how it was possible, but many knew that the seat of the Godking held immense power and gave one Immortality too. No one would want to offend someone like that.

Ning looked around at the ground, recognizing no one in particular. He asked the system for some names, and soon everyone’s name and description came back to him.

There were 3 wives of the late Godking sitting closest to him with a few soldiers of their own. They were beautiful women wearing revealing clothes and were quite powerful as well.

He looked at their hands, but they had soft linen gloves hiding their hand, hiding just how strong they were.

Ning smiled a little and looked around. There were ministers, great merchants, heads of big noble families, and many others. Each one wore a glove or two on their hands.

Ning understood by now that this was a cultural thing in this world. As for whether they were hiding their power or just doing it out of respect for other person was something Ning wasn’t sure just yet.

Once he had some free time, he was going to try and learn just what the magic of this world was.

“As you all might have heard,” Ning started. “I’ve killed your Godking. Many of you will be hoping for his return, but he will not. I have thoroughly killed him. I hope I had a corpse to show you, but even that was not left behind.”

Several people seemed to want to speak, but none said anything out of fear of disrespecting Ning.

“Speak your mind,” Ning said. “I’m not like your previous Godking. I’m not a tyrant. You can say whatever is in your mind. You can curse me too if you want to. I won’t do anything to you.”

People still hesitated, but the woman closest to him, one of the wives of Indebiss spoke up.

“If you have done as you said and killed our husband, what happens to us now?” she asked. “Do we get killed for being his wife?”

“Um, no,” Ning said, surprised he was even being asked such a thing. ‘But then again, they have probably seen people being punished for much less. Damn, Indebiss.’

“Regarding the wives and any other people related to Indebiss, I plan to do nothing to any of you. You can do whatever you want. We can discuss this in detail later. Anyone else?”

One man raised his hand, a minister by the name of Hanuglep. “The Godking was capable of traveling to the other regions of the world to keep his rule and keep the empire calm. Does the seat give you that power?”

“I can do that,” Ning answered. “But I shouldn’t have to soon. I plan on giving up entirely on those regions and only taking care of this continent. The other regions can be taken care of by someone they choose to.”

“In fact, I plan to do the same here. I will not be your Godking and instead have someone else take my place. You all may come with candidates you will want to make the next king, and I will choose the best person for the job.”

The crowd’s eyes widened in surprise. Someone else was going to be the king?

“Also!” Ning quickly added. “Just to be clear, the position is not just open to a man. Women can participate too and become queens. I will look at the person’s wisdom and knowledge and not their gender.”

Several questions were thrown at Ning as soon as he was done telling them exactly what he planned to do. He had already talked with his system on how to go about everything, so he was ready to answer everything.

There would no longer be tributes paid by the other regions to help this continent. Instead, this continent would help the other sections of the world.

To start with, Ning would soon send a fleet of workers and helpers to the southern land where they would help the newly arrived humans from another planet.

Then, he would go with the people to the strip of land connecting the Sunside and Nightside and tell them they were finally free.

The internal politics of the palace did not matter to him. He was too strong for it to do anything for him anyway.

He talked to the group for nearly 3 hours, going superficially through everything that would matter. Once done, he finally let the people return.

Once everyone left, he returned to his grand room at the back of the palace where only the Godking and his wives were supposed to live.
