Chapter 1458 Conditions
Redfist’s eyes narrowed upon hearing Ning’s words.
“That sounds like a threat, friend. Are you trying to scare me?” Redfist asked, his glove primed for usage.
“Threat? No. I have no need for threats. I’m only speaking facts. I’m telling you what will happen if you refuse,” Ning said. “If you wish to consider that it is a threat, then you are free to do so.”
Ning’s words were causing many of the pirates to get rowdy again. They wanted Redfist to attack Ning, or let them shoot him. Redfist was keen on doing so himself.
However, before he could say anything, Gouge walked up next to him. Gouge, Redfist’s first mate, gestured to Redfist to not get too hasty. Then, he walked in between Redfist and Ning, taking over the conversation.
“Can you please repeat what you told my captain as to what it is that you require from us?” the man asked. “Please speak in simple terms so we can be certain what it is exactly that you want.”
Ning nodded. “We have a book where we can record the information of a treasure,” he said. “I have tasked them with a task to gain the information of the treasures available in the pirate city. That is it.”
The old man thought for a bit. “Then what were you talking about stealing our treasures?” he asked.
“In the instance where we cannot gain the information easily, we have to resort to stealing,” Ning said. “Well, not me. But they will have to resort to stealing.”
The old man thought for a moment. “Please excuse me while I converse with my captain,” the man said and pulled Redfist away to talk for a while.
Ning stood with his hands crossed, waiting for someone else to speak. Suddenly, he heard something from his right and turned to see what was making the sound.
His hands moved on their own, plucking two knives from the air that were coming for his head and heart. Gasps rang from all around the place as everyone saw what had nearly killed Ning.
Everyone’s head turned toward him.
Ning smiled.
He moved, grabbing another knife that was coming for Jasmine, and another one that came for Tim. With 4 knives in his hands, he tossed them high into the air before grabbing another two.
“You are good, Tiffany,” Ning said. “It’s not every day that I can be surprised this well.”
Ning hadn’t been using his System, so he had no idea where the knives were coming from. The directions seemed random at all times, and he was certain that the woman named Tiffany was using her Knife treasure to target him and his group, to kill them.
With the treasure, she could practically throw the knife in any direction and it would still go toward the target. The crowd of people made it hard for Ning to see through them to see where the knife was originating from. He wanted to use his skills, but it was just too much fun without it.
He flicked away one knife and tossed the four moves into the sky after grabbing them.
Everyone, including the 3 great pirates was simply stunned to see Ning’s fast hands catching each knife as it was thrown toward him. They couldn’t understand how he was reacting to all of them so swiftly, or what sort of treasure he was using to speed himself up so quickly.
“Look!” someone shouted, pointing to the sky as the knives that Ning had thrown up were falling down toward him.
Ning stared up and smiled. “I’m afraid we’re done with the game, Tiffany.”
Ning grabbed the many knives as they fell and threw them in a single random direction. The knives moved at a speed that was simply inconceivable to the human eyes, moving faster than a gunshot as they struck something in the distance.
Multiple shouts rang from the place where Ning threw the knives, and many people were surprised to find out that the place had been behind them.
They turned around and found a small dust cloud where the knives had been thrown. When the dust cleared, they saw a brown-haired girl in an upturned coat with many knives hidden within her cost.
The coat and her pants were all pierced with the knives that Ning had thrown, pinning her to the ground, making it difficult for her to move out even as she struggled to.
“Glad you could show your face, Tiffany,” Ning said. “I’m glad I got to meet you.”
Tiffany spit out some dirt and looked at Ning with hateful eyes. She wanted to put a dagger into his eyes, but unfortunately, her hands were completely stuck to the side too.
She started cursing, throwing out words that would make a sailor shrink in shame. Ning snapped his fingers and suddenly the knives came out. There was nothing pinning her to the floor anymore.
Tiffany quickly got up and held her knives, confused about what had happened all of a sudden. She looked toward Ning, her eyes showing fear as well now, as she didn’t know what to do.
Every other time, she had been able to beat anyone by simply tossing a dozen different knives at them. However, as it stood, her knives were seemingly useless against him.
“Why did you let her go?” Jasmine asked. “I was about to run and grab her treasure.”
“Because she is not my mission to complete,” Ning said. “If you want, you can go get it from her.”
Tiffany stood up and slowly walked toward Ning and the others. “Why did you let me go?” she asked. “You had me.” S~aʀᴄh the vl_Fir.et website on Ggl to access chapters of nvels early and in the highest quality.
“We’re not pirates. We’re not here to kill or hurt anyone. It’s just a small visit and we’ll be leaving in 2 days. I have no reason to hurt you as long as you aren’t the one hurting me first,” Ning answered. “Although, I suppose you have tried to hurt me.”
Tiffany shivered upon seeing Ning’s eyes which seemed to glow slightly with bloodlust and that scared her.
“Sir Ning, was it?” Gouge spoke.
Ning turned around. “Yes, that is my name,” he said.
“We have come to a decision. I would like to see what you think about it,” the older man said.
Ning got curious. “Okay, what is it that you want to do?” he asked.
Gouge produced a rope from inside of his jacket, pulling it out. “This is my treasure. If you are not going to take it from me, I will let you record it, under the condition that you will not tell anyone what it does.”
Ning thought for a bit and shook his head.
Gouge was surprised. “No?” he asked.
“I don’t mean to say no,” Ning said. “It’s just that I’m not the one who needs your treasure.” He pointed to the two behind him. “Consider me out of this, and deal everything with them.”
Gouge was a little surprised and looked toward Tim and Jasmine. “It is you two who stole Silvereye’s treasure, is that correct?” he asked.
“We are,” Tim and Jasmine said.
“Then I will let you decide as to what I said before will you agree?” he asked.
“To take your treasure and record it without telling anyone what it does? Absolutely,” Tim said.
“Anyone? Including the authorities in the other countries?” Gouge asked.
“We have no connection with any of them, so we cannot answer your question. Let’s just say that is not the intention we came here to. We are just gathering information. We do not intend to share it with anyone,” Jasmine answered.
Gouge thought for a moment and nodded. “I cannot ask for more, I suppose,” he said and handed over his rope to Tim.
Tim took the rope and quickly pulled out his book, placed it within it, and activated the book. Records of the rope were entered into the book.
Tim closed the book put it back, and handed back the rope to Gouge.
Gouge was a little surprised at the efficacy of it all. “Are you done?” he asked.
“Yes,” Tim answered. “You don’t need my treasure anymore?” he asked.
“No,” Tim answered.
Gouge seemed conflicted now. He turned toward Redfist wanting to say something, but Redfist spoke first. “I’m not going to change my mind,” he said.”
Gouge sighed and turned back around. “My captain wishes to give his treasure to you as long as you beat him in a one-on-one duel,” he said. “One of you will have to fight him for his treasure.”
“Fight?” Tim asked. “But we’re not fighters. I’m a scholar. I have never even been in a real fight.”
“That is what he asks,” Gouge said.
“I’ll fight in your place if you can’t,” Tony said.
“Brother Tony, you’re not a fighter either,” Tim said.
“No, but I think my treasure will aid me more in a fight,” Tony said.
Tim narrowed his eyes for a moment. “Are treasures allowed?” he asked.
“Yes,” Gouge said. “But if you use your treasure, my Captain will use his as well. Is that okay with you?”
“That’s absolutely fine,” Tim said. “I’m in. Where do we fight?”
Gouge let out a breath in relief. “I’ll get you that information by tonight if that’s alright. The fight should take place tomorrow.”
Tim got happy. That worked for him even better.
“I would like to do the same too,” Tiffany shouted. “Fight me. If you win, I will let you record my treasure. If you lose, you cannot come after me anymore. I do not like being hunted.”
Tim and Jasmine looked at each other. “We accept that as well.”
