Chapter 30

nOne by one the ghouls began to drop down onto the train tracks. Their growls echoed from down tunnel as their eyes and senses adjusted.
n“They probably won’t kill you… But what… about those… humans behind you…? All that food… It’ll be s-s-stolen…”
nWithin seconds, a wave of ghouls had fallen onto the tracks, and they began slowly moving towards them. Xavier continued to drink the vampire’s blood as he watched the ghouls drop onto the tracks in a swarm.
n“Run… Everyone run, now!!!”
n“There’s a horde incoming!! Run up the station stairs! We’re getting out of the underground!!”
nYou killed a Vampire!
nXavier ignored the notification and turned around to find frightened humans running frantically for their lives.
nThe light brown-haired girl who admired him called out to him, gesturing for him to hurry up and follow them as her father carried her away.
nWhile holding onto the axes of the tall bald Vampire they had killed, the red brown haired girl stood on the platform waiting for Xavier.
nThe ghoulified Xavier immediately began running, his figure blurring when viewed by the human eye from his incredible speed – while a tidal wave of ghouls swept from down the tunnel toward them.
nXavier drooled out of his mouth, his only thought was to consume them before the other ghouls did. He was terrified of having his blood stolen.
nBeing unable to keep up with the fight, no one knew Xavier was no longer the same as before. He had lost all sense of self, he was only driven by his bloodlust and thirst for blood.
nHe had reached the platform stairs before they even noticed him, and he had jumped up to the very top to cut them all off.
nThe brown-haired girl was the first to notice Xavier at the top; her face immediately brightened upon seeing him.
n“You made it!!” She called out happily
nThe smile faded from her face as she observed the swords dangling from his arm by his flesh, and as she felt the looming threat of bloodlust.
nHowever, those who were too terrified to notice-
n“Don’t just stand there! Help us!”
n“Use your powers and keep the ghouls back while we get out of here!”
nThe figure of Xavier disappeared from her view as he grinned in response to their comments.
n“Huh, where’d he-”
n*SPLATTER!*
nIn a split second, the young girl watched as each and every one of them had their heads severed from their necks.
nBecause the girl, her family, and the red-haired, brown-eyed female student were at the bottom of the staircase, Xavier had reached them last.
nThe sword he swung, which was dyed in their blood, reflected their confused expressions as he swung it before them.
nBut whether it was because the family was similar to his or not, Xavier for whatever reason stopped the swing.
n*SWOOSH!*
nBlood splattered on their faces as a strong pressure of wind blew towards them, forcing them to close their eyes.
nWhen they opened their eyes, they saw Xavier panting heavily as he kept his blades by their necks.
nYou have killed 8 Humans!
nLEVEL UP!
nNo one spoke, they were too terrified and traumatized. They were stunned for a moment.
nWhile he stared at them, Xavier’s mouth was wet with drool. It became more difficult to resist the urge as the scent of the blood from the other humans he had killed filled his nostrils. As the other ghouls approached the platform while flooding the tunnels, there was also a sense of urgency.
nFor some reason, Xavier had stopped. He had bloody tears running down one eye as if fighting for possession of his body when the image of his family appeared before him.
nHalf Chronos Characteristic.
nMind Corrosion Resistance.
nEven though Xavier had become a ghoul, he had not completely lost track of himself. If only for a moment, he found himself in the depths of his hunger.
nHowever, he knew this would only last another second before he lost himself again, and this time, if he succumbed to the hunger, he would never return.
nXavier slowly moved the sword away from his neck and onto his own. As his body struggled to resist, his arms strained, but he pushed back harder than before.
nThen- Without saying anything else, he swung the swords with all his might.
n*SPURT!* *GUSH!*
nEverything went black in an instant.
n–
nRewind: Level 1
nReturn.
n–
nXavier forced open his eyes as he awoke.
nA gorgeous girl’s sleeping face loomed over the young man, with her long silver hair hanging over his face. As she breathed in and out slowly, she slept with the most innocent expression in the world.
nThere she was, Sangrea Redblood, his self-proclaimed Vampire wife.
nWithout saying anything, he extended his hand out to her cheeks and gently caressed them to make sure it wasn’t a dream.
nIt was smooth and soft just like before, it all felt real. Just like before, once he started caressing it, he couldn’t stop.
nHe squeezed and pulled at her puffy cheeks and slim jaw before finally grabbing at her soft bottom lip.
nAs her eyes opened suddenly, surprise loomed over her face.
n“Stwop pwushing mwy chweeks…” She complained with a drowsy expression.
nSince she repeated the words she had previously said to him, Xavier was able to confirm it. He had returned.
n“Xavi…?” The girl asked with a worried look as she rubbed the drowsiness out of her eyes.
n“…What is it…?” Xavier asked as he turned his head to the sides from the top of her lap.
n“You’re… Crying… Is everything okay…?” She asked.
n‘Crying? Who…? Me?’
nXavier let in a deep breath.
nHe then slowly exhaled that breath before noticing the tears flowing down his eyes.
n‘Why am I crying…?’ He wondered.
n“I’m fine… I… Probably had a bad dream.” He muttered.
nAfter hearing his words, Sangrea calmly stroke his hair.
nWith every stroke Xavier could feel himself growing more relaxed.
n“…Do you want to talk about it?” She asked as she continued to stroke it.
nXavier looked up at her and responded after shaking his head.
n“I forgot it all, already, I doubt it was important.” Said Xavier.
n“Hm… So you’re not sad anymore.”
nXavier shook his head.
n“Good, looks like I won’t have to seduce you and make you forget it all through pleasure.” She teased as she unbuttoned her dark dress, revealing parts of her chest.
nIn response, Xavier let out a slight chuckle and with a smile replied. “Yeah.”
nFor some reason, that smile made her cheeks flush red and her heart skip a beat.
n‘W-Why am I the one getting flustered!?’ She complained inwardly.
nXavier stared at her neck and flustered expression for a while before losing himself in his thoughts.
n‘I was powerful as a ghoul… However… That wasn’t me. I had no control over myself… If I ended up encountering my family…’
n‘I… Without a doubt, would have killed them…’
nXavier didn’t mind becoming a monster, but if the monster he became would put them at risk, then there was a problem.
n‘I guess I should be grateful for my Chronos bloodline… I need to find out more about them.’
nNew Secondary Bloodline quest received.
nXavier raised his eyebrow as he read the quest description.
n‘This is…’
