Chapter 39

nIn a giant empty room, a pointy-eared vampire with midnight green hair and crimson red eyes was enjoying a cup of tea while humming to himself.
nThe alarm had rung, causing his ears to ring, but he did not seem too bothered.
n“It appears another ant has entered my nest…”
nHe slowly stood up before adjusting his uniform.
nSeeing himself in the mirror, he smiled.
n“Should I decapitate them or tear out limb from limb~?” He asked before vanishing, leaving behind a cracked mirror as he did so.

n“From now on… Until we make it out of here… We’re going to be hunted…” She whispered in his ears.
nPoint of previous rewind has been passed.
nEnergy restriction: 0%
nEnergy: 220
/220
nAfter taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out, Xavier nervously looked over at the bed where his mother and sister were sleeping.
n“That’s fine… Knock me out.” He responded
nSangrea tilted her head to the side with a confused look before asking. “What?”
n“Just trust me… Knock me out, now…!”
nShe hesitantly nodded before clenching her fist and pulling her hand back.
n“S-Sorry, Xavi…”
n*WHAM!*
n–
nXavier snapped his eyes open and quickly pushed himself up.
nThe first thing he saw upon getting up was the teary expression on Sangrea’s face. She felt awful for what she had done.
n“How long was I out for?”
n“A few seconds…” She responded.
n‘System, has the rewind point been set?’
nAffirmative.
nHer tears were wiped away by Xavier before he got up and raced to the bed, telling her that she did a good job
nTheir eyes were shut, but their breathing was steady and steady, and other than the tubes, their had been no other harm dealt to them.
nXavier sighed in relief.
nThe relief quickly faded away, however, once he remembered that his father was still nowhere to be found.
n‘I’d only encountered two familiar scents in there… Dad’s scent wasn’t in that room… Meaning he’s either being kept somewhere else or… He’s dead….’
nXavier hung his head.
n“Sangrea…. Can I ask something of you…?”
nSAngrea slowly nodded.
n“Lend me your strength… Please… Please help me keep my family safe until we’re out of here…”
n“Do you even have to ask? Obviously I will.” She responded as she got up.
nXavier smiled before picking up both bodies and placing them over his arms.
nHe glanced over at the long silver-haired beauty behind him once more before looking out the door.
n“…Let’s go.”
n–

n–
nXavier and Sangrea ran down the roads. While sprinting with all his might, Xavier carried his mother and sister inside shadow cocoons to keep them safe.
nHe hadn’t given it much thought until now, but aside from his body being lighter, his agility was much higher, making him glide through the roads while making as little noise as possible.
nAcrobatically, he leapt from place to place, sometimes hiding in alleyways to avoid vampires’ eyes.
nSometimes they would see groups of Vampires pass by them, but thanks to Sangrea’s shadow manipulation, they could remain hidden.
nAt last they had reached the bridge that led towards the last palace, containing the giant transportation mirror leading to the outside of the Vampire camp.
n“All we need to do is get to that place to escape right?” Xavier asked whilst hiding by the shadows with Sangrea as they looked at the palace at the end of the bridge,
nSangrea nodded whilst panting. She seemed drained and tired.
n“Easier said than done… That’s going to be the most heavily guarded place right now… Just look at how many Vampires they put on the bridge.”
nVampires were scattered on both sides of the bridge, waiting for their faces to be revealed so they could attack.
n“Although I’d say our chances are looking good… This Vampire camp is much smaller than a regular one and the troops available seem weak…” Muttered Sangrea.
nThe only noble encountered was at the place where they were draining the human’s blood.
n“Can you teleport us to the other side of the bridge?”
nShe shook her head.
n“Shadow transit takes out a lot of energy from me, I’ve used it in succession too many times… I wont have the energy to fight if I get us all over there… That is if I can even get us there in the first place.” Said Sangrea.
nXavier nodded, he had expected much based on how tired she looked.
n“Sorry… We’re going to have to find another way to get past-”
nSangrea’s eyes widened as she watched Xavier draw both swords from the sheaths on his waist.
n“Hey… Xavier, you’re not planning to-”
nXavier interrupted Sangrea before rushing out of the shadows whilst saying “Stick close!”.
nWith a shocked look on her face, Sangrea, who had been left behind with both shadow cocoons, ran immediately after him.
n“I found them!! They’re coming for the bridge!” Yelled out the Vampire closest to them who had spotted them.
nWhen he yelled, all the Vampires’ attention went to Xavier, and Sangrea as they ran towards the bridge.
n*SWOOSH!* *FWOOSH!*
nXavier and Sangrea dodged every swing that was aimed at them as they rushed past the Vampires at the bridge’s entrance.
n“What are you doing!? Stop them!!!”
n*WHAM!*
nXavier dodged the last Vampire on the bridge’s entrance before leaping onto the face of the Vampire behind him.
n*FWOOSH!*
nXavier propelled himself down the bridge as the Vampire’s back struck the ground.
nWhile Xavier slipped past from above, Sangrea fled from below, while their attention was focused on Xavier.
nShadow-like shields surrounded her, blocking any swings or swords aimed at her or the cocoons.
nEventually they’d made it onto the bridge.
nThe vampires, however, were coming from both the front and back, giving them only one option.
n“Push through.” Said Xaiver as veins bulged out of his arms.
nHis arm was pierced by spikes from the swords cross guard as he pressed down on its buttons. As they drew blood from Xavier’s body, the jewel on their pommels filled with blood.
nAfter leaping past Sangrea and into the groups of Vampires approaching them from the front, Xavier swung his blades at them in a spectacular display of speed.
n*Fwoosh!*
nXavier’s single swing was not only able to push them back but cut off the arms of those closest to him after receiving it.
n“AAAH!”
nScreams and groans filled the air before Xavier leapt over the front lines of each group and landed in the middle.
n“Die.”
n*SWOOSH!*
nIn an instant, Xavier decapitated all the vampires around him by rotating his entire body and swinging his sword.
nYou killed 8 Vampires!
n 850 XP!
nIt was then that the massacre began.
nSangerea watched as Xavier slashed and cut past the Vampires with bloodshot red eyes as he charged along the bridge.
nIn addition to letting all of his fury loose, Xavier also cut off all of the Vampires who might threaten them out of their path as he unleashed everything. Blood was splattering all over him.
nNot even for a moment did his sword stop being swung.
nYou killed 7 Vampires!
nYou killed 8 Vampires!
n 1640 XP!
nLEVEL UP!
nWithin moments, they were standing in front of the Palace with even more Vampires hesitantly approaching from down the bridge.
nXavier opened the palace doors with Sangrea beside him, only to find a single Vampire in the middle of the huge hall.
nEven before they entered the room, however, they began to feel powerful surges of pressure all over the place. They had to watch out for more than just one vampire.
n“Look who finally arrived~.” Said the Vampire standing before them calmly. “You kept me waiting quite a while, didn’t you? Redblood.”
