nChapter 14 – A Black Complaint (告黑狀)
nQiao Weimin’s decision had not only angered Doctor Gan, but also Teacher Jin.
nTeacher Jin was a young and warm-hearted person. She sympathized with Jing Yunzhao, but at the same time, she was also worried about Jing Yunzhao’s future.

n
nWithout the presence of her “biological” mother, how was the child going to be treated at home? Although Jing Yunzhao had siblings, Qiao Hongye and Qiao Zizhou were only observing from the sidelines. They didn’t seem close with Jing Yunzhao at all!
nTeacher Jin knew about the situation, but she couldn’t do anything about it. She could only console Jing Yunzhao a bit before returning to school.
nYe Qin would soon be breathing her last, so she was kept in the hospital for the night. Qiao Weimin believed in male chauvinism, and he never liked taking care of people, but he was afraid Jing Yuzhao would secretly give Ye Qin that medicine, so he stayed in the hospital.
nQiao Hongye cared about her reputation a lot, so she was also there. Qiao Zizhou, on the other hand, was used to being pampered. At 11 pm, he gave up and went home, not caring about what others thought of him.
n
n
nThe next afternoon, the smell of death pervaded the room.
nUnder the white cloth was Ye Qin’s lifeless face.
nJing Yunzhao sighed. One could only blame Ye Qin for finding such an unreliable husband.
nYe Qin’s funeral was simple; Close family and friends came to give their condolences, and that was it. The Qiao’s became very busy, trying to greet all of their guests. After a few days, everyone had on an exhausted expression.
n
n
nWhen the funeral ended, they were finally able to relax.
nInside the house, Qiao Weimin relaxedly drank his beer. He didn’t have to act sad anymore. Qiao Hongye and Qiao Zizhou were sitting at the dining room table. They felt somewhat sad, but they’d also gotten tired of dealing with Ye Qin’s disease. They too relaxed.
n“Dad, how about I go to school with Qiao Zizhou tomorrow? We’re falling behind in class. If we delay any longer, we might not be able to catch up in time,” suggested Qiao Hongye.
nThe alcohol made Qiao Weimin’s face red. His head was dizzy and light, “Okay, okay. All three of you can go.”
n“Dad… mom’s no longer here. No one’s here to do the chores anymore, and mom used a lot of money when she was sick. It’s going to be very had for you to raise us and let us attend school at the same time… it’s all my fault. I’m too young. I can’t help you share this burden,” Qiao Hongye said apologetically.
nJing Yunzhao raised her eyebrow and smiled. If she remembered correctly, Qiao Hongye was only younger than her by a year.
n
n
nHow could she not understand what Qiao Hongye was trying to imply? She wanted the eldest child to quit school in order to serve them.
nWhen Ye Qin was still alive, Ye Qin wanted to make Jing Yunzhao quit school too, but she’d given up on the premise that it didn’t cost any money to send her to school. The other reason was because she didn’t want other people to start gossiping.
nJing Yunzhao was well-known for her good grades. If she were to quit school, people would definitely criticize Ye Qin for treating her children unequally if she didn’t let her attend school. People loved to talk and Ye Qin naturally didn’t want others to point and gossip about them.
n“Good child, you’re a good child…” The current Qiao Weimin was much too drunk to catch Qiao Hongye’s meaning.
nQiao Hongye wanted to make things more clear, but seeing the state her father was in, she was afraid he would forget it the next day, so she decided to temporarily hold it in.
nThe next day, she saw Jing Yunzhao leave the house early in the morning.
nQiao Hongye thought about it before rushing into Qiao Weimin’s room.
nThe whole room stank of alcohol, making her frown.
n
n
nShe saw Qiao Weimin lying on his bed, dressed only in his underwear. The windows were closed, and the room was a mess. Qiao Hongye loved cleanliness, so she was disgusted by the sight.
nHowever, he was still her biological father. Qiao Hongye sighed and shouted, “Dad! Wake up…”
