nNoir, hearing the one-sided declaration of his death, became fuming with anger.
n“RAAAAAGH!”
nHe roared, his voice echoing loudly in the void of space. Blanc’s barriers started to shake, cracking from the intensity of it alone. 𝘳𝑎.𝒸ℴ
n“What power!”
nShe exclaimed as she added more layers of protection, just in case.
nAfter all, she was currently protecting everyone else, as nobody was able to erect barriers as strong as hers among the others. Zeshion, who was left alone in the air, quickly landed and approached Noir, waving his sword.
nHis steps were swift and precise, but before he could even come close, a powerful shockwave erupted, sending him rolling across the ground for quite a distance.
nNoir was finally getting serious, no longer holding back the full extent of his beyond-god-level powers. Zeshion could feel his breath get stuck; the pressure exuded by Noir alone was enough to stop their breathing!
nBlanc was the same and was forced to pull Ember and the others closer to her, just so that she could saturate the shields better, protecting them from the violent aura that Noir was exuding.
nI don’t know how you gained that much power… But from here on, don’t think you can touch even a strand of my hair!
nAll around him, shadowy tentacles, combined with floating orbs of light, gathered. Their numbers were almost uncountable, dense, and wriggling disgustingly.
n“Pffft!”
nHowever, Will could only chuckle loudly, as if hearing a joke.
n“What? I can’t touch your hair? Why would I even touch such a dirty thing?”
n*SNAP!*
nA resounding echo bounced around as Will snapped his fingers. With just that, all the tentacles and orbs that were forming behind Noir faded away as if they were nothing but an illusion.
n“See? I can handle you even without taking a step from here.”
nWill swung his fingers down as if a conductor were guiding an orchestra. At the same instant, Noir’s four wings suddenly got cut, falling to the ground without a sound.
n“…!”
nNoir was confused. Other than the pain in his back, he didn’t notice a single thing until his wings were cut off!
nI-Impossible! There’s no way you can be more powerful than me, who was granted unparalleled power as a dungeon master!
n“Yeah, right. Given a month or so, you would probably master your new powers and become unparalleled as you claim. However, too bad, you met me before you could even get an idea about how to use it.”
nAnother swing of Will’s fingers caused Noir’s legs to buckle from the knees. No, it didn’t buckle but rather was cut right at the joint. He fell to the ground face down, confusion and fear circling inside his mind.
nEven though he should’ve gained enough power to truly rule the entire world, he was being handled like a little baby in front of a veteran assassin. No matter what he did, everything felt like a futile struggle!
nHe tried to form some laser attacks, the fastest ones he could muster, but as if reading his mind, Will would thwart his attempts before they could even be formed completely. His anger and fear were slowly transforming, plunging Noir into the depths of despair.
n“That’s why I was saying it’s futile. Come on, don’t waste my time.”
nWill stared at his hand, upon which cracks were starting to appear more and more pronounced. He wasn’t sure how much longer he could stay, but for sure, it wouldn’t be for long.
n“It’d be a disaster if I returned before I finished handling you, so let me…”
nWill drew a sword—a flaming red sword. It was similar to Igni’s Flame Sword, but instead of being made of flames, it was actually made of actual minerals. Zeshion gulped upon seeing the sword in Will’s hand. As a swordsman himself, he could recognize a powerful sword when he saw one, and he could immediately tell that the one Will was wielding was even more powerful than the Holy Sword he was holding.
nThe flames covering the sword’s edge were undisturbed, the tongues licking the air gently; not a single hint of its power could be seen. However, Zeshion was sure that with a single swing of the sword, half of the entire island would vanish!
n“I’m not sure what skill I can or can’t use, so let me just use this.”
n*SLASH!*
nWith a flick of his wrist, the sword swung at an unbelievable speed. Noir, who was plastered face-down on the ground, tried to dodge by pushing himself up from the ground, but the sword’s edge was mystical. As if following his every movement, the edge kept its path straight, aiming for Noir’s heart, or the blue core at the center of his chest, to be exact.
n*SHING!* *CRACK!*
nBefore he could tell what was going on, the flaming sword had already passed. A thin line was etched on the face of the blue crystal, making it seem as if Will’s attack didn’t work. However, soon enough, wild flames raged, engulfing Noir from head to toe.
n“UGH! ARRRRRGH!”
nA scream of agony and pain escaped his lips, unable to hold back. However, it lasted only for an instant. Soon enough, Noir’s body crumbled, reduced to ashes, leaving only the blue crystal ball, cracking into a dozen fragments.
nWill then started to look around, completely ignoring his handiwork, and raised his palm. As soon as he did, the entire floating island, which was reduced to nothing but a piece of floating land, vanished from the Void of Space.
nIn a blink, familiar scenery spread before everyone else. The scorched earth, a remnant of Goddess Vermeil’s indiscriminate attack. They had returned to the Royal Capital!
n“With this, my job should be done… AH!”
nWill was about to relax, only to remember something important. He started to touch himself from all over, looking for something, but quickly realized he had none of it on him. Taking a single step, he was magically before Blanc in an instant.
n“Blanc, you don’t happen to have a pen and paper on hand, do you?”
n“What…?”
nBeing asked a completely unexpected question, Blanc went speechless for a moment. After she returned to her senses, she quickly passed a small notebook and a pen to him, something she often used to take notes.
n“Thanks!”
nWill turned around and started scribbling something. His writing speed was beyond humanely possible, finishing ten pages worth in a span of five seconds. Relieved, Will wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. The crack on his hand had appeared on both arms already, spreading slowly. If he didn’t return soon, then Will’s body would literally be destroyed.
n“I guess this is his body’s limit. Blanc, please take care of me, as I’ll probably be on death’s door for a few weeks after this.”
nWill smiled a gentle smile, as if he were talking to a close friend or a lover. Right after he said his piece, as if the last string holding him up snapped, his body fell down. Blanc hurriedly caught his falling body before checking his condition.
nAs soon as she did, her face went pale.
