nThe history teacher sighed. “Actually, Little Overlord has very good grades in other subjects. He just dislikes English and never takes it seriously. Anyway… you can just give him some marks. Don’t take it to heart.”

nWith that, she turned and returned to her seat.

nJames picked up a pen and stared at the big turtle drawn on the test paper. Then his eyes under the glasses narrowed and he drew a zero beside the turtle.

nThe Smiths’ mansion.

nAt dinner, Phoebe mentioned the monthly exam.

nPhoebe tilted her head and looked a little distressed. “The exam was a bit difficult. I was busy sketching lately and didn’t have much time for study.”

nHer words instantly aroused Ada’s guilt as she expected.

n“It’s all my fault. The study task for you is too heavy.”

nPhoebe shook her head and said sweetly, “It’s okay. I like to study. Although I may not do well in this exam, I’m sure that I’ll still be in the top three.”

nAda gave a glad smile. “Just do your best.”

nThen she turned her eyes to Claire.

n“Claire, how about you? How did you do in the exam?”

nClaire fiddled with the food on her plate and replied lazily without lifting her head. “I’m sure that I won’t get zero in the test.”

n“You…” Ada was speechless.

nThe servants on the side all looked at Claire with contempt.

nWhat a striking contrast!

nLike clouds and mud.

nPhoebe raised her brows in triumph.

nShe had been worried that Claire would snatch Mom’s love from her when she first heard that Mom wanted to bring Claire home.

nNow it seemed, however, Claire was nothing but a waste. She had nothing to worry about.

n——

n“Breaking news, Little Overlord scores zero in English this time!”

n“Damn, really?”

n“Yes! The transcript is posted on the bulletin board.”

n“Wow, Mr. Walker is courageous!”

nIn the classroom, the students whispered to each other.

nIn the last row, Derek stared at the red zero on the test paper, his face gloomy.

nClaire glanced at the paper, raised her brows, and spread her test paper beside his.

n“I scored ten.”

nShe had guessed a few multiple-choice questions right.

nWithout a word, Derek suddenly grabbed his test paper, lunged to his feet, and rushed out of the classroom.

nThe boys gloated. “Oh, Mr. Walker is doomed!”

nThe girls were worried. “I hope Mr. Walker will be fine…”

nTeachers’ office.

nThe door was suddenly kicked open.

nThe teachers looked up and saw Derek rushing in fiercely.

nHis cold gaze swept around, and then he tilted his head and smiled, revealing two little tiger teeth. “Teachers, can I talk to Mr. Walker alone?”

nThe other teachers immediately fled out of the office

nand even closed the door for him.

nWhen they all left, Derek slammed his test paper on James’ table, and his voice was cold. “What do you mean?”

nJames stopped writing, raised his head, and looked at the young man in front of him through the glasses. It was as if he was looking at an unreasonable kid.

n“Derek, have you got a problem??”

nDerek slowly leaned over, propping the table with both hands, almost enclosing James in his arms. He looked down at him and a low and hoarse chuckle emitted from his throat.

n“Mr. Walker, you’re new here. Let me tell you the rules here. I, Little Overlord, only hand in blank papers in English exams. You just need to give me decent scores!”

nJames pushed his glasses up his nose, smiled gently, and said slowly, “No matter if you are Little Overlord or Little Turtle, if you hand in a blank test paper, I’ll give you zero points. What’s wrong with that?”

n“Who are you calling a Turtle?!” Derek grabbed James by the collar, his eyes sharp like a blade.

nJames was still smiling gently. “Derek, it is not shameful to score zero in a test. Work harder next time.”

n
